Abstract

Some trading platforms are declared illegal, and since 2016 until now the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) has blocked a lot of illegal investment content, especially those using binary options trading systems because they are considered similar to gambling systems. Nevertheless, advertising impressions of trading platforms with binary options systems such as OctaFX can still be found by the public through advertisements on online media such as Youtube. Where advertising has become part of an e-marketing strategy that is considered more effective and efficient at a minimum cost but gets a lot of attention from the target audience. Therefore, this study aims to test the impact of OctaFX trading platform advertising exposure on students' interest in investing in Youtube ads. This research uses stimulus-response theory where advertising is used as variable X and investment interest as variable Y. This study uses an explanatory quantitative approach, with data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires to one hundred student respondents in South Jakarta. The results of this study indicate that exposure to advertisements for one of the trading platforms, namely OctaFx on the online media Youtube, significantly affects the level of interest of students in South Jakarta in investing through this trading platform.

Abstract

The tradition of migrating in Minangkabau, West Sumatra, requires adult men to leave their hometowns in order to live independently, adapt to new environments and achieve a successful life. However, some adult men choose not to migrate for personal reasons. This research uses the concepts of Social, Cultural, and Symbolic Capital by Pierre Bourdieu, as well as the theories of Symbolic Interactionism and Relational Dialectics by Mead, Blumer, Baxter, and Montgomery to examine this capitalistic dilemma. Using these theories, the author aims to reveal the capitalistic dilemma for adult men, when each of them has reasons to choose between two options, where a certain amount of capital surrounds migrants and non-migrants, as well as the symbolic interaction and relational dialectics that occur between migrants and non-migrants. This research uses a qualitative method entitled Capitalistic Dilemma of the Merantau Tradition for Minangkabau Men Viewed Through Symbolic Interaction and Relational Dialectics. In this research, resource persons such as traditional leaders, migrants, and non-migrants were interviewed to gain in-depth insights. Although the obligation to migrate is a customary law or regulation that has been going on for generations, the results of the study prove that, migrating or not migrating is not a problem, when each individual has reasons that strengthen his choice. The decision to migrate or not is imbued with significant meaning, influenced by social, cultural, economic, and symbolic factors.

Abstract

Globalization has made the inhabitants of the world interconnected more closely in almost every aspect of life because of the speed of information obtained. One of the important things that need to be considered in realizing the process of globalization is the development of information technology. The development of information technology has led to the emergence of new media. The new media is being used in various industries and business including in tourism industry. Public relation practitioners working in tourism industry take benefits of new media as means of communication and promotion. Ragunan Zoo is a tourist destination located in South Jakarta, Indonesia. The development of the era led to the development of strategy in introducing this tourism destination to local and overseas tourists. The types of new media that this tourism destination exploits are websites, social media, and mobile phone applications.

Abstract

Awal tahun 2020 semua dunia berubah seketika dengan munculnya virus COVID-19. Salah satu industri yang terkena dampak adalah pendidikan, di mana semua orang di dunia harus melakukan segala aktivitas di rumah masing-masing. Dengan begitu, internet lebih sering digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan aktivitas belajar mengajar dari rumah. Permasalahan dari penelitian ini adalah sejauh mana para responden menggunakan internet sebagai media pembelajaran. Konsep penggunaan internet diukur dengan dua fungsi media, yaitu: sebagai sumber informasi dan komunikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menyebarkan angket secara online kepada mahasiswa aktif Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Pancasila. Data yang berhasil dianalisis sebanyak 199 responden. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa responden tidak hanya menjadikan internet sebagai sumber informasi, namun juga sebagai sumber komunikasi dalam aktivitas pembelajaran. Adapun teknologi yang dimanfaatkan untuk proses pembelajaran adalah smartphone/handphone.

Abstract

This research examines the sequential relationships between digital access, digital literacy, digital usage, and educational outcomes in the context of the digital divide in higher education in Indonesia.  The study utilizes data from 457 undergraduate students across six urban and rural universities, employing a quantitative survey methodology and applying Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the causal pathways.  Findings indicate that access, as assessed by device type and duration, significantly improves digital literacy, which subsequently influences educational technology usage patterns and learning outcomes.  Communication and content creation skills significantly impact academic performance and satisfaction.  The results substantiate a multilevel framework of digital inequality and emphasize the significance of equitable digital engagement beyond simple access.  This study provides insights for digital literacy initiatives and educational technology interventions designed to mitigate outcome-based disparities across various geographic and institutional contexts.

Abstract

Pulau Tidung di Kepulauan Seribu menghadapi permasalahan limbah organik yang semakin meningkat akibat aktivitas pariwisata dan pertumbuhan UMKM, terutama sektor kuliner. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mengatasi permasalahan tersebut melalui implementasi budidaya maggot Black Soldier Fly (BSF) sebagai salah satu solusi pengelolaan limbah organik yang ramah lingkungan sekaligus menciptakan peluang ekonomi baru. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, dan pemanfaatan hasil panen maggot dan kasgot. Hasil program menunjukkan terjadinya reduksi limbah organik hingga 80% dari rumah tangga peserta, peningkatan estetika lingkungan, dan terbentuknya aktivitas ekonomi baru berbasis maggot. Program ini tidak hanya berhasil dalam hal lingkungan dan ekonomi, tetapi juga menunjukkan partisipasi aktif masyarakat serta potensi replikasi di wilayah kepulauan lain. Budidaya maggot BSF terbukti sebagai pendekatan berbasis ekonomi sirkular yang berkelanjutan dan memberdayakan masyarakat.
