Abstract

Ubi kayu merupakan salah satu komoditi pertanian yang sangat diandalkan di Nagari Durian Gadang karena ubi kayu merupakan bahan baku utama bagi agroindustri kerupuk ubi kayu yang tidak hanya ada di Nagari Durian Gadang tapi juga di nagari lain yang ada di Kecamatan Akabiluru Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. Pasokan ubi kayu tentunya sangat mempengaruhi keberlangsungan produksi agroindustri kerupuk ubi kayu tersebut. Kelompok tani Maju Jaya sebagai salah satu pemasok ubi kayu mengalami kendala dalam budidaya ubi kayu, yaitu adanya penyakit busuk umbi yang menyerang tanaman ubi kayu mereka. Sehingga produktivitas ubi kayu menurun. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah peningkatan pengetahuan petani tentang pengendalian hama penyakit ubi kayu khususnya busuk umbi. Pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan petani dalam menekan hama dan penyakit ubi kayu sehingga produksi ubi kayu dapat ditingkatkan kembali.

Abstract

International community service (PKM) is a tangible form of university involvement in strengthening academic-based cooperative institutions. This activity was carried out through collaboration with ANGKASA Kuala Lumpur, the parent organization of cooperatives in Malaysia, which has long experience in the development of modern cooperatives. Community Service (PKM). This study involves the fields of economics, law, health, and technology, to identify best practices in the institutional management of cooperatives in higher education The purpose of the activity is to increase the capacity of cooperatives of universities in Indonesia through multidisciplinary synergy, covering the fields of economics, law, health, and technology. The implementation method includes literature studies, field observations, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and the preparation of cooperative internationalization action plans. The results show that university cooperatives in Indonesia still face challenges in the form of limited governance, lack of innovation in business units, and low utilization of digital technology. Through collaboration with ANGKASA, a model of strengthening cooperatives, developing preventive health business units, implementing governance according to modern legal principles, and integrating digital technology for member services was obtained. In conclusion, international PKM is a strategic step to encourage Indonesian university cooperatives to be globally competitive. The findings show that cooperative digitalization systems, cross-field institutional integration, and strengthening of internal regulations are the foundations for the success of cooperatives in Malaysia. It provides strategic recommendations in strengthening the institution of academic cooperatives in Indonesia

Abstract

The partner of the Community Service Team chaired by Prof. Dr. Suryani, MSi is KWT "Bengke Sakato" a partner from Padang Pariaman Regency. KWT "Bengke Sakato" has long been engaged in having a Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) production business, because in addition to the natural products where KWT is domiciled abundantly with coconut trees, this group has also been given training on how to make VCO. This VCO production waste has not been maximized, even though the waste such as coconut husk can be used as cocopeat and cocofiber, and shells can be used as charcoal, bags and tiles or tiles. The method used has several stages, namely Socialization, Workshop, Monitoring and Evaluation as well as mentoring. This program successfully trains people to make bags and tiles from coconut shells using machines provided by the Service Team. With the training of these KWT members, they process VCO waste into various products, it can increase the income of this group. From 500 coconut shells can earn Rp. 5,900,000. And can also increase his knowledge by 79.33%. Thus, this activity of service in the future can contribute to community income.
