PEKKA (Perempuan Kepala Keluarga) means a woman or a widow who becomes the sole provider in the household, especially in terms of financial needs. Naturally this is not easy for many of these sole providers since many of them come from low economic levels and educational backgrounds. The women empowerment programme carried out by DP3AKB through the PEKKA empowerment programme is carried out to produce women with potential and high enthusiasm so that the knowledge and experience gained can become the basic capital to improve the economy of the families. The current qualitative descriptive research aims to identify and describe the process of PEKKA empowerment programme in improving the family economy by DP3AKB, describing the supporting factors, inhibiting factors and impacts of PEKKA empowerment programme in improving the family economy by DP3AKB in Menampu Village, Gumukmas District, Jember Regency. The results of the research indicate that DP3AKB collaborates with the government of Menampu Village along with KUA Gumukmas counselors to empower PEKKA by providing socialization processes, guidance, and training, as well as conducting intensive efforts to ensure that the knowledge obtained can support a mindset that forms more independent behavior and can develop the potential of PEKKA to support changes in their lives.

Kosakata adalah salah satu komponen bahasa Inggris yang harus dipelajari oleh siswa karena dapat membantu siswa memperoleh keterampilan bahasa Inggris lebih mudah dan untuk membantu dalam membangun komunikasi bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, siswa kelas dua MANPK2 MAN 1 Jember membutuhkan bantuan dalam memperoleh kosakata. Siswa hanya dapat memperoleh sebagian dari kosakata yang telah disampaikan guru. Namun, ketika pertemuan berikutnya, siswa tidak dapat menyebutkan seluruh kosakata yang disampaikan dalam pertemuan terakhir mereka; Selain itu, mereka harus membaca buku mereka sebelum menyebutkan bagian dari kosakata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah siswa yang diajar menggunakan video Jago Bahasa di Instagram mendapat nilai lebih baik daripada mereka yang diajar tanpa video di kelas dua MAN 1 Jember. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Data yang dikumpulkan untuk penelitian ini adalah dari skor pre-test dan post-test dan dianalisis menggunakan uji T sampel Independen dengan versi IBM SPSS 26.0 untuk menghitung data. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, skor post-test yang dihitung menunjukkan Sig. 0,000 < 0,05, yang ditafsirkan bahwa Hά diterima dan Ho ditolak. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada skor yang berbeda antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan video Jago Bahasa di Instagram dan mereka yang diajar tanpa itu di kelas dua MAN 1 Jember. Artinya, menggunakan video Jago Bahasa di Instagram sebagai media pembelajaran siswa kelas dua MAN 1 Jember itu efektif.

Keterampilan menulis dalam bahasa Inggris dianggap sulit karena memerlukan pemahaman bahasa dan latihan yang terus-menerus. Penelitian ini merinci hasil penelitian Adel (2017) yang mengeksplorasi umpan balik guru terhadap tulisan mahasiswa di Swedia, terutama fokus pada metadiskursus, seperti visibilitas penulis/pembaca dan visibilitas teks/kode. Temuan Adel mencakup enam pertimbangan penting dalam memberikan umpan balik yang efektif terhadap tulisan mahasiswa, terutama di tingkat pendidikan tinggi. Penelitian menyoroti peran visibilitas dalam membantu mahasiswa memahami fokus revisi tulisan mereka. Namun, belum memberikan solusi konkret terkait masalah komunikasi dan menekankan pentingnya waktu, kejelasan, dan motivasi dalam memberikan umpan balik yang tidak hanya segera tetapi juga jelas, spesifik, dan memotivasi tanpa merendahkan mahasiswa. Pentingnya menjaga kerahasiaan umpan balik dan menetapkan kriteria evaluasi yang jelas juga ditekankan, dengan harapan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis mahasiswa di tingkat pendidikan tinggi.

This current study focuses its investigation on the correlation between students’ beliefs about the use of translation as an English learning strategy and the strategic use of translation in learning English by EFL students in Indonesia. This current study is aimed 1) to investigate the correlation between students’ beliefs and the use of translation as a learning strategy 2) to examine the developmental of the use of translation as a learning strategy across different year of study. One hundred seventeen undergraduate students, consisting 67 freshmen and 50 sophomores participated in this correlational study. The data were collected by frequency of an Indonesian Version of the Inventory for Beliefs about Translation for beliefs measurement and the Inventory for Translation as a Learning Strategy. Correlation and t-test were employed in the study. Correlation analysis reveals that a strong positive correlation between students’ beliefs about translation and their use of translation as learning strategy. T-test finds the significant difference in the use of translation as learning strategy between freshman and sophomore learner.

Kasus kekerasan seksual saat ini marak terjadi, anak sering menjadi korban kekerasan seksual oleh orang yang tidak bertanggung jawab. Kekerasan seksual tidak hanya dilakukan oleh seorang anak ataupun remaja, melainkan juga oleh orang tua yang sudah berumur. Seorang korban kekerasan seksual pastinya akan mengalami rasa trauma dan UPT PPA Kabupaten Situbondo memiliki layanan konseling bagi korban kekerasan seksual. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah: 1) Bagaimana tahap pelaksanaan konseling yang dilakukan oleh konselor dalam upaya mengatasi trauma korban kekerasan seksual di bawah umur selama proses konseling di UPT PPA Kabupaten Situbondo. 2) Bagaimana ragam teknik konseling dan media yang digunakan dalam proses pelaksanaan konseling korban kekerasan seksual di bawah umur di UPT PPA Kabupaten Situbondo. 3) Apa saja faktor penghambat dan pendukung dalam pelaksanaan konseling korban kekerasan seksual di bawah umur di UPT PPA Kabupaten Situbondo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi di lapangan, serta menggunakan teknik triangulasi yakni triangulasi teknik dan triangulasi sumber. Hasil dari penelitian yaitu tahap yang dilakukan oleh konselor UPT PPA Kabupaten Situbondo memiliki 8 tahapan dengan pendekatan person centered, menggunakan 17 teknik konseling, serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat adalah keluarga dan lingkungan.

There have been pervasive uses of technology and social media in the classrooms to improve the way English skills are taught. However, Indonesian students' proficiency in reading comprehension is still considered to be inadequate due to language barriers, the lack of motivation and the lack of visually engaging English texts. Therefore, the current study attempted to bring back a conventional way of teaching reading comprehension by integrating comic strips as an instructional media in the classroom. Employing Kemmis and McTaggart’s Classroom Action Research, it was found that the implementation of comic strips successfully improved the students’ low reading comprehension skill for 22 junior high school students.

Many times, most empty used sacks are only burned and thrown away which then becomes environmental problem. However, in Dukuhmencek village, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency there is an unnoticed community empowerment activity through manufacturing used sacks as a home industry. This community empowerment activity is carried out to provide knowledge to the community that used sacks still can be reused and recycled. Through focusing on manufacturing used sacks, the goal is to prosper the community by creating job opportunities for the community, reduce poverty by helping the family’s economy, and reduce environmental damage. The focus of this research is divided into three, namely: 1) How is the process of community empowerment through manufacturing used sacks as a home industry, 2) What are the inhibiting factors for community empowerment through manufacturing used sacks as a home industry and 3) What is the impact of community empowerment through manufacturing used sacks as a home industry. The current study is qualitative research with a descriptive approach and a purposive sampling method was employed to choose the research subjects. The data was gathered through observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Source triangulation, technique triangulation and time triangulation were employed to verify the data. The results showed that the manufacturing used sacks as a home industry could be clarified a s community empowerment activity.
