Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) is critical for measuring a country’s economic growth. This research aims to determine the impact of zakat distribution in five priority sectors, i.e., humanity, education, economy, health and religion, on Indonesia’s HDI. The data consists of zakat distribution and HDI for the 2012-2022 period. Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression is used to analyze the relationship between variables using the EViews 12 tool. The distribution of zakat in the education and humanitarian sectors has a positive and significant effect on increasing HDI in Indonesia. Meanwhile, no impact is found on the economic sector, health and religion. Implications are drawn for zakat institutions and the government to formulate policies and programs to optimize zakat funds consistently and strategically in vital sectors.

Abstract

Studying the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is crucial for understanding the global economy, as it significantly influences the economic policies of various countries in anticipation of impacts and challenges. This study analyzes the global economic response and fear of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The data source is 60 selected news articles from trusted online news platforms that present expert opinions regarding the economic impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The analysis was carried out using NVivo 12 software. The research found that the world's response and fear are focused on the energy market, particularly regarding price increases, oil and gas import and export, and concerns about a potential oil embargo. The second major issue discussed is political tensions among GCC member countries, which affect the investment climate, including money and capital markets. The conflict is also expected to slow economic growth and recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, involving major countries, such as the United States, various Asian nations, and several European countries. This study contributes to the economic literature and international relations by offering new insights into how regional conflicts impact global economic dynamics. This provides a foundational basis for stakeholders to develop strategic economic policies in response to the conditions arising from the conflict.

Abstract

This research systematically evaluates the literature on Islamic Work Ethics (IWE) and divides it into several topics, i.e., leadership, organization, employee behavior, and employee performance. Furthermore, this research highlights the application of Islamic Work Ethics in various organizations. Using a qualitative design, this research applies a Systematic Literature Review to analyze 62 Scopus-indexed articles. The articles analyzed are articles with quantitative research that provide empirical evidence of the influence and cause-and-effect relationships of implementing Islamic Work Ethics in various organizations. Islamic Work Ethics has been implemented in almost all organizational sectors, both government and non-government, as well as public and private organizations. The outcomes of implementing Islamic Work Ethics depend on the type of organization and its members' level of Islamic Work Ethics. The findings show that the subtopics of organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior and their causal relationships with IWE are more closely related than other topics. This research only involves articles with quantitative methods for analysis. However, it is very important to see the impact of implementing Islamic Work Ethics in various organizations.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of the board of directors, board of commissioners, Sharia supervisory board, and Non-Performing Financing (NPF) on Return on Assets (ROA) in Islamic rural banks (BPRS) in Indonesia. Additionally, it investigates the influence of the board of directors, board of commissioners, and Sharia supervisory board on NPF. Annual data from 18 BPRS listed in the OJK directory from 2019 to 2021, including board size, ROA, and NPF, were analyzed using the Common Effect Model. The results indicate that board size negatively and significantly affects ROA but not NPF, while board size, board of commissioners, and Sharia supervisory board insignificantly influence ROA and NPF. However, NPF significantly impacts ROA negatively. These results underscore the importance of board composition in financial performance and asset quality within BPRS, providing valuable insights for stakeholders and policymakers in enhancing governance practices and mitigating financial risks
