Abstract

Studies on the impact of disasters on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the halal food sector are often ignored by researchers and academics, even though these studies are needed to mitigate the risks from natural disasters. This study explores the impact of disasters on MSMEs, especially those engaged in the halal food sector. The research methodology used was phenomenology, with the data source being MSME actors in the halal food sector who were affected by the disaster in Palu City. The results of this study provide a conceptual framework for disaster impacts, which include direct and indirect impacts on physical assets, human resources, raw materials, production, sales, and capital. The relationship between the impact of the disaster and economic actors in the halal food sector breaks the supply chain in impacted and non-impacted areas. Therefore, the aim of this research is to provide information for business actors in Palu city to redesign a safer and more controlled business concept in the event of a natural disaster in the future.

Abstract

Islamic banking in Indonesia is slowly experiencing significant developments both in terms of number of assets and its financial performance. On the other hand, the market share was only able to grow by 6.18 percent with grow rate less than 5 percent. Therefore, one of the strategies to increase and accelerate the growth of Islamic banking is through a merger. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the potential development of Islamic banking after the merger as an effort to strengthen the inclusion and acceleration of Islamic finance in Indonesia. The method used is in the form of a systematic analysis review by collecting various secondary data and then conducting a quality assessment to obtain in-depth research objectives. The results found through content analysis indicate that the merger strategy provided added value to the banking industry through greater market expansion, increased cost efficiency, financial performance, and lowering prices, to meet the public need for sharia-based financial services. Through a merger strategy, Islamic banking is able to become a new pillar of national economic strength and encourage Indonesia to become the center of the world on Islamic finance.

Abstract

Gender equality is an important aspect of building harmony in the family. Salafis, with their teachings of Islamic purity, is considered a religious organization that severely restricts women's activities. This reality makes the public think that Salafi women are domesticated, subordinated, and discriminated against in terms of gender. This study examines and explores the concept of gender equality in the Salafi family and how it is contextualized in reality and women's economic movements. This qualitative research uses observational data, periodic WhatsApp application interviews, and documentation studies. This study shows that, first, an understanding of gender equality has been developed in Salafi families in Lampung, although its implementation still requires negotiation by considering the rights and obligations of women in the family, as wives, mothers, and both. Second, while still paying attention to religious norms, Salafi women utilize social media, the internet, and digital technology to build businesses, partner, and connect with many parties. Third, the creativity of Salafi women in building homes as a place for entrepreneurship, no longer a domestic space, has been able to form alliances instead of causing conflict between home and workplace and clouding public perceptions that they are domesticated.

Abstract

Studying the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is crucial for understanding the global economy, as it significantly influences the economic policies of various countries in anticipation of impacts and challenges. This study analyzes the global economic response and fear of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The data source is 60 selected news articles from trusted online news platforms that present expert opinions regarding the economic impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The analysis was carried out using NVivo 12 software. The research found that the world's response and fear are focused on the energy market, particularly regarding price increases, oil and gas import and export, and concerns about a potential oil embargo. The second major issue discussed is political tensions among GCC member countries, which affect the investment climate, including money and capital markets. The conflict is also expected to slow economic growth and recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, involving major countries, such as the United States, various Asian nations, and several European countries. This study contributes to the economic literature and international relations by offering new insights into how regional conflicts impact global economic dynamics. This provides a foundational basis for stakeholders to develop strategic economic policies in response to the conditions arising from the conflict.
