Abstract

This research is motivated by the low skill of the science process and the ability to think critically by students, because science is seen as difficult, thus affecting learning outcomes. One of the things that is done is to implement the PBL model. PBL combines initial knowledge and new to learn critical thinking and problem-solving skills, so researchers formulate problems, is there any influence of the PBL model on science process skills and critical thinking ability between before and after the use of the PBL model. This study aims to determine the influence on science process skills and critical thinking skills before and after the use of the PBL model. Method with pre-experimental form One–group Pretest-posttest. The population taken was 10 students. Data collection by observation and tests. Based on observations, an overall average of 84 was obtained and the distribution scale was almost entire. So, there is an almost entire influence on students' science process skills using the PBL model. Based on the calculation, a value of -2,228 ≥-3,6 ≤ 2.228, so H0 is rejected and HI is accepted. So, there is noinfluence on the ability to think critically between before and after using the PBL model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalah matematika yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya variasi model pembelajaran serta minimnya penggunaan media konkret. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut adalah melalui penggunaan model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media Paklingtar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model PBL berbantuan media Paklingtar terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi keliling bangun datar. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SDN Jatisari, Kecamatan Situraja, Kabupaten Sumedang, tahun ajaran 2024/2025 yang berjumlah 18 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal uraian berdasarkan indikator pemecahan masalah menurut Polya. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji normalitas Lilliefors dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data pretest dan posttest berdistribusi normal. Hasil uji t menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai pretest dan posttest, dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 16,92 dan t tabel sebesar 2,11. Dengan demikian, H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa model PBL berbantuan media Paklingtar berpengaruh signifikan dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi keliling bangun datar.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover spelling errors (letter use errors, word writing, and punctuation use) of fifth grade students of elementary schools in South Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency. To achieve this goal qualitative descriptive research is carried out with steps: collecting data on students' language errors and conducting language error analysis. The research subjects were fifth grade students of Margacinta Elementary School, Manangga Elementary School, and Pasanggrahan I Elementary School, South Sumedang District. The results of the study showed that there were errors in language in students' narrative essays which included spelling errors (letter usage errors, word writing, and punctuation errors). Spelling errors that often appear are errors in capital letters, incorrect writing of prepositions, errors in the use of punctuation, errors in writing words that are not in accordance with the rules of the correct language, and errors in writing of particles. The largest number of misspellings is Manangga Elementary School with a number of spelling errors of 52 (43.33%) and the smallest number of misspellings, namely Margacinta Elementary School with 27 (22.5%) errors.
