Abstract

Tujuan penelitianadalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk tepung ikan dan pengolahan tanah terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi jagung manis. Penelitiaan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial, dengan 2 faktor perlakuan, dimana faktor pertama adalah pemberian pupuk tepung ikan yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu P0= tanpa perlakuan (kontrol), P1= 100gr/ plot (400 kg/ ha), P2= 200gr/ plot (800 kg/ ha ), P3= 300gr/ plot (1200 kg/ ha), sedangkan untuk faktor kedua adalah pengaruh pengolahan tanah, yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaituT0= lahan tanpa diolah, T1= lahan diolah minimum , T2= lahan diolah sempurna. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini diantaranya: tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, luas daun, panjang buah berkelobot, bobot buah per tanaman, bobot buah per plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pemberian pupuk tepung ikan berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 6 dan 8 MST, diameter batang, luas daun, panjang buah berkelobot dan bobot buah pertanaman sedangkan tinggi tanaman umur 2 dan 4 MST serta bobot buah perplot berpengaruh tidak nyata.Perlakuan pengolahan tanah berpengaruh nyata hanya terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 2 dan 6 MST, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 4 dan 8 MST, diameter batang, bobot buah perplot, luas daun, panjang buah berkelobot dan bobot buah pertanaman. Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Sirube-Rube, Kecamatan Dolok Pardamean Kabupaten Simalungun dengan ketinggian tempat ± 1000 meter diatas permukaan laut, penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober hinggaDesember 2015.Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Mikoriza dan pupuk NPK Mutiara serta interaksinya terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman bawang merah.Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah: bibit bawang merah,  pupuk Mikoriza, pupuk NPK Mutiara, insektisida dan fungisida. Alat yang digunakan adalah: cangkul, garpu, sprayer, ember, timbangan, gembor, papan nama dan kalkulator,    Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor, pertama Dosis pupuk Mikoriza, C0 (tanpa pupuk Mikoriza), C1 (25 g/plot, C2 (50 g/plot), C3 (75 g /plot). Faktor kedua: Dosis pupuk NPK Mutiara, D0 (tanpa pupuk NPK Mutiara), D1(15 g/plot), D2 (25 g/plot), D3 (35 g/plot), diperoleh 16 kombinasi dan diulang 3 kali. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah siung (buah), produksi siung segar tanaman sampel (g), dan produksi siung per plot (Kg).Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian Mikoriza dan pupuk NPK Mutiara berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman (cm) Umur 4 dan 6 MST dan tidak berpengaruh nyata untuk kombinasi serta pada parameter  jumlah siung per rumpun (buah), berat siung per tanaman (g), dan berat siung basah per plot (kg).

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung ikan dan pupuk NPK Mutiara serta interaksi kedua perlakuanterhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kacang tanah.Penelitian dilakukan mulai Februari sampai April 2019, dan dilaksanakan di Nagori Negeri Bayu Muslimin Kecamatan Tapian Dolok Kabupaten Simalungun dengan ketinggian ± 400 meter dpl. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 2 faktor yaitu Pemberian Tepung Ikan, 4 taraf: T0= 0 kg/ plot, T1= 1 kg/plot, T2= 2 kg/plot dan T3= 3 kg/plot. Pemberian pupuk NPK Mutiara, 3 taraf: M1(10 gram/plot)M2(15 gram/plot)dan M3(20 gram/plot). Parameter yang diamatitinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah cabang, jumlah polong berisi, berat polong berisi (g), bobot polong basah per plot (kg), berat kering 100 Biji (g). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan Tepung Ikan berbeda nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 15 HST, 30 HST, 45 HST, bobot polong berisi per plot tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap parameter yang lain. Perlakuan pupuk NPK Mutiara menunjukkan berbeda nyata hanya berat kering 100 biji, tetapi parameter yang lain berpengaruh tidak nyata. Interaksi kombinasi kedua perlakuan menunjukkan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan.

Abstract

In Simalungun regency, the intensity of the coffee berry borer attack was in the category of heavy and very heavy attack. The high intensity of attacks is caused by coffee farmers not carrying out control efforts. As a result, the population and spread of the coffee berry borer has increased over time. The majority of coffee farmers do not know the control technology to overcome the coffee berry borer. Including pest control using attractant traps, coffee farmers in Simalungun Regency are still not familiar with it. The way the attractant works, which produces an aroma that is able to stimulate female coffee berry borer pests to approach and then enter the trap, is completely unknown to coffee farmers. For the introduction of this pest control technology, the activities carried out with partner farmers started from providing counseling on pest control methods, introducing attractants and how they work, training farmers through demonstrations of installing attractants in coffee plantations, as well as socializing the importance of all coffee farmers willing to install attractants in their respective gardens. The results of the training and socialization of trapping attractants showed positive success benefits, as reflected in the knowledge of partner farmers on pre-test questions (before training) and answers to post-test questions (after training was given several times). Farmers' responses in the discussion session also reflected more curiosity about the use of attractants to overcome losses caused by the coffee berry borer.

Abstract

Herbicides are needed by farmers to control weeds in their farming land. Although the price of herbicides is expensive, farmers always try to buy them. The need for working capital to buy herbicides is one of the factors that drives the increase in farm production costs. The initial survey of potential partner farmers illustrates that farmers are familiar with and have used various types of herbicides. However, all farmers in Dusun Bah Bulawan do not know how to make or reproduce herbicides. All farmers depend on buying commercial herbicides from agricultural kiosks, which are relatively expensive and tend to increase from year to year. Based on the situation analysis of partner farmers, a concept was formulated, namely how to make farmers' knowledge change from not knowing to knowing in terms of multiplying herbicides. The strategy of the activities carried out is to organize training. Farmers are equipped with technological knowledge to reproduce their own herbicides. With the skills of being able to reproduce their own herbicides, it is hoped that farmers can save production costs. Because the cost of buying herbicides can be reduced by a significant amount. The general objective of training activities is to help farmers overcome their problems and reduce farm production costs. Meanwhile, the specific objective is to increase the welfare of farmers through savings in farm production costs. Benefits of the activity: the knowledge and skills of farmers will increase, especially the technology for increasing herbicides. While the impact of activities: (a). Farmers gain additional knowledge of technology transfer from universities and create synergistic cooperation between universities and the community. (b). Farmers know more about the use of herbicides as weed control. (c). Farmers' knowledge changed from not knowing to knowledgeable in terms of multiplying herbicides. (d). Farmers are able to multiply their own herbicides to reduce farm production costs. (e). The level of income and welfare of farmers is expected to increase, because production costs for controlling weeds can be saved

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan yang telah dilakukan untuk mengedukasi masyarakat agar mengetahui tentang cara pembuatan pupuk kompos dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan limbah pertanian dengan teknologi EM4, agar masyarakat petani mampu menyiapkan pupuk kompos untuk diri sendiri dan tidak selamanya bergantung membeli dari pedagang, dan  mengurangi atau meminimalkan biaya produksi petani sekaligus meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat telah dilaksanakan pada hari Minggu, tanggal 19 dan 26 Mei 2024, diikuti 20 orang petani Huta Pamurpuran Nagori Saributongah Kecamatan Dolog Masagal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk penyuluhan dan pelatihan (demonstrasi). Metode penyajian materi disampaikan dalam bentuk ceramah dan penjelasan serta demonstrasi (penerapan praktek). Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan hasilnya tidak secara otomatis dapat diketahui, karena sifatnya tidak terukur. Sebagaimana kegiatan penyuluhan yang insidentil, hasil yang diperoleh tidak serta merta terlihat. Namun demikian, berdasarkan jawaban peserta atas pertanyaan pre test dan jawaban pertanyaan post test, hasil evaluasi memperlihatkan ada manfaat keberhasilan penyuluhan. Tanggapan petani pada saat sesi diskusi, juga mencerminkan keingintahuan yang lebih banyak akan penggunaan teknologi EM4 untuk proses pembuatan pupuk kompos. Kedepan, tim abdimas Prodi Agroteknologi Faperta USI menargetkan kegiatan lanjutan secara berkala untuk mengevaluasi hasil manfaat kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan. Pelaksanaan penyuluhan dan pelatihan mendapat respon yang positif dan antusiasme yang tinggi dari petani mitra. Melalui proses penyuluhan dan pelatihan yang sudah diikuti petani, mayoritas petani peserta telah mememiliki tambahan pengatahuan yang benar tentang pemanfaatan limbah kulit kopi sebagai pupuk organik dengan memanfaatkan teknologi EM4

Abstract

In oil palm plantations, weed control using herbicides is considered more practical than other control methods. This is due to the need for less manpower, shorter control execution times and longer control cycles. The ability of herbicides to control weeds is determined by the type of active ingredients they contain. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the 2 types of herbicides and the appropriate dosage levels to control weeds in oil palm fields. The research method used a nested design, testing 2 types of herbicides namely fluroxypyr-mepthyl and ammonium glufosinate. While the second treatment, tested the dose level of each herbicide. The tested dose levels for the herbicide fluroxypir-mepthyl were 0.1 l/ha, 0.3 l/ha, 0.5 l/ha, 0.7 l/ha and 0.9 l/ha. While the dose levels of ammonium glufosinate herbicide were 2.6 l/ha, 2.8 l/ha, 3.0 l/ha, 3.2 l/ha and 3.4 l/ha respectively. The results showed that the effectiveness of the herbicides fluroxypir meptyl and ammonium glufosinate to control weeds in oil palm plantations was not significantly different. The most effective dosage level of the herbicide fluroxypir meptyl for controlling weeds was 0.9 l/ha (average percentage of weed mortality was 74%). The dosage level of the ammonium glufosinate herbicide which resulted in the highest percentage of weed death (74.44%) resulted in an application dose of 3.4 l/ha. Application of the herbicides fluroxypir meptyl and ammonium glufosinate at all dose levels tested did not show toxicity in oil palm plants.

Abstract

The research was carried out in people's coffee plantations at 4 locations at different altitudes in Simalungun Regency. The aim of the research was to determine the intensity of attacks by the coffee berry borer Hypothenemus hampei Ferr on land at different altitudes, and to determine the effectiveness of synthetic attractant traps to control it. The research method used a series design (randomized design series groups), which was carried out on coffee plantations at altitudes of 550, 850, 1,000 and 1,150 meters above sea level. At each plantation location, in an effort to control Hypothenemus hampei Ferr attacks, 3 (three) types of synthetic attractant traps were installed: Hypotan 500 SL, Koptan and Atrakop 500 L. The results of the research showed that the intensity of Hypothenemus hampei Ferr attacks tended to decrease in coffee plantation locations. higher above sea level and vice versa. The attractant types Hypotan 500 SL, Koptan and Atrakop 500 L showed no significant difference in effectiveness for trapping the coffee berry borer Hypothenemus hampei Ferr. However, these 3 types of attractants have not been able to reduce the intensity of attacks from puso, heavy and moderate categories to light attack categories.
