Abstract

The ability to think is the defining factor that sets apart human beings and any other creations.By using their minds and their mental capacity, humans try to assign meaning to get a betterunderstanding of the phenomenon and things in their surroundings. Humans gave birth toscience and technology as a means to solve their problems and in process, fulfilling specificneeds. Thus, human beings began to live side by side with technology. As time has progressed,technology also shapes what values to uphold. Advancement in technology often gives a newperspective on life. We saw a possibility of losing the essence of “what makes us human” dueto the irresponsible use of technology. Aside from being entertainment, this project also aimsas a means to convey the message that technology used wisely so as not to lose identity as ahuman being. This project manifests as a sci-fi short movie based on technologicaldeterminism and dehumanization, in which we made the audience think about what values wehave lost in exchange for technology. This project uses an action genre and a unique effect toconvey the world-building aspect. We hope the whole process of this project could serve as areference for any parties who want to create short movies within the same context.

Abstract

Salah satu dampak dari meningkatnya penggunaan teknologi informasi di ranah publik seperti internet adalah meningkatnya peran warga dalam gerakan sosial. Setiap organisasi menggunakan internet dengan cara yang berbeda dan juga melalui fase yang berbeda. Sebagai pelopor organisasi gay di Indonesia, GAYa NUSANTARA (GN) menggunakan situs web untuk mempublikasikan gerakannya. Struktur peluang politik organisasi dalam membangun identitas dan penggunaan internet dalam gerakan organisasi virtual dapat diperiksa melalui interaksi tiga set variabel: karakteristik organisasi, kemudian ketersediaan sumber daya; dan persepsi organisasi tentang peluang internet. Untuk itu, penelitian ini hendak meneliti bagaimana penggunaan internet oleh organisasi GN dalam membangun identitas organisasi dan memobilisasi gerakan organisasi apakah penggunaan internet membawa kontribusi dalam pembentukan identitas organisasi terutama dibanding dengan penggunaan cara tradisional (non internet). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara kepada pengurus GN dan juga observasi pada situs web GN dan dilengkapi dengan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan internet di GN berdampak pada kapasitas organisasi untuk membangun identitas dan penggunaan internet di GN mempengaruhi mobilisasi gerakan secara virtual, namun berdampak secara terbatas.

Abstract

Instagram merupakan media sosial yang saat ini populer dan memiliki kekuatanberupa interaktivitas antar penggunanya. Instagram memiliki fitur yang dapat memungkinkanpembaca untuk dapat terhubung dengan saling memberikan respon atas konten yang ada,berupa likes dan komentar. Ketika warganet mendapatkan banyak respon, maka urutannyaakan menjadi teratas dan akan disebut sebagai top comment. Walaupun penelitian ini masihsebatas studi awal (preliminary research), hasilnya akan mengungkap bagaimana motivasiwarganet untuk menjadi seorang top comment di kolom komentar Instagram. Dengan konsepmedia enjoyment, teori uses and gratifications, dan metode kuantitatif deskriptif, hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata responden menganggap menjadi seorang topcomment seolah menjadi ajang persaingan baru bagi warganet untuk mendapatkanpopularitas, berupa kepuasan dan pengalaman menyenangkan dalam mengonsumsi media.Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah agar dapat mengkaji lebih dalam mengenai polakomunikasi dan konteks dari komentar-komentar yang ada.

Abstract

The digital era has significantly transformed the media and Public Relations (PR) landscape, particularly within the e-commerce sector, with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) emerging as a crucial factor in determining online visibility. This qualitative research examines the synergy between SEO and PR, focusing on how it enhances brand reach and reputation. The findings demonstrate that achieving a dominant position on the first page of search results not only influences user behavior but also plays a vital role in digital marketing strategies. Furthermore, the study highlights how SEO has evolved into a fundamental component of PR practices, enhancing organic search rankings for press releases and other communication materials. Through a comprehensive analytical approach, this research illustrates that integrating SEO into PR not only increases web traffic and revenue potential but also contributes strategically to shaping a compelling narrative for media outlets, thereby improving brand credibility. This study offers valuable insights into the evolving dynamics of the e-commerce industry, highlighting the importance of responsible and ethical strategies in fostering a sustainable relationship between PR and mass media in the digital age

Abstract

As a philanthropic foundation, the Tanoto Foundation has unique programs with individual educational development. Teladan is a program that guides the younger generation to create a quality generation and prepare the next generation of leaders. Generation Z is the current generation that Tanoto is focused on. There are challenges in preparing Generation Z as future leaders. Based on the data, generation Z has a low interest in learning. Apart from that, Generation Z prefers social media when looking for information. For this reason, Tanoto is trying to use TikTok social media to facilitate Generation Z to be more interested in education and increase digital literacy for the future. This research seeks to find out how the TANOTO Foundation uses TikTok as an informal educational forum for Generation Z through edutainment content. The research was carried out using a qualitative approach and interview and observation methods as data collection techniques. The research results show that through designing, targeting and producing content with an attractive edutainment concept, Tanoto can reach and attract Generation Z. Edutainment content and the role of the Tanoto Foundation as an agent of change through TikTok can continue to be improved through TikTok social media optimization efforts that focus on engaging and more interactive audiences.Keywords: Philanthropy, Tanoto, Social Media, TikTok

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang pesat menuntut tenaga pendidik untuk mampu beradaptasi dengan sistem pembelajaran berbasis daring yang efektif dan efisien. Salah satu upaya strategis dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru di era digital adalah melalui optimalisasi penggunaan Learning Management System (LMS) sebagai media pengelolaan pembelajaran daring yang terarah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengelola, merancang, serta memanfaatkan fitur-fitur LMS guna menciptakan proses pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, efisien, dan terukur. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahap sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, pendampingan intensif, serta evaluasi hasil penerapan LMS di lingkungan sekolah mitra. Peserta kegiatan adalah guru dari berbagai jenjang pendidikan yang memiliki keterbatasan dalam pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran daring. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kompetensi digital guru, yang ditandai dengan kemampuan peserta dalam mengelola kelas virtual, menyusun materi ajar digital, melakukan penilaian daring, serta memanfaatkan data analitik pembelajaran untuk evaluasi proses belajar. Selain itu, pelatihan ini juga berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan efisiensi manajemen waktu dan kualitas interaksi guru-siswa selama proses pembelajaran daring berlangsung. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan profesionalisme guru dalam era transformasi digital pendidikan dan menjadi model pengembangan kapasitas berkelanjutan di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

This study examines the digital innovation “Vanrita” chatbot (Virtual Assistant Balla Garring Ta) as a form of public communication transformation at Daya Public Hospital, Makassar. The research addresses the gap between Indonesia’s national digital health vision and the limited technological adoption in local public hospitals. The study aims to analyze user acceptance of Vanrita, factors influencing adoption decisions, and the relevance of this innovation to service efficiency and quality. A qualitative case study was conducted through in-depth interviews with 14 participants, including medical staff, public relations officers, and patients. Guided by Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovation Theory (2003), four dimensions were analyzed: innovation elements, characteristics, innovation process, and adopter categories. Findings reveal that Vanrita demonstrates strong relative advantage, high cultural compatibility, and low complexity, contributing to faster adoption among digitally literate users. However, adoption remains limited among elderly and non-digital users. The study concludes that effective interpersonal communication, sustained promotion, and institutional support are essential for strengthening the diffusion of digital innovations in public healthcare communication.
