Abstract

Kata kunci: Ujian, google class, Media PemblajaranDeforestation due to the exploitation of trees to meet the needs of paper is in poor condition. Abstract

Abstract

Patient safety and prevalence of nosocomial infections are directly related to the problem of airborne germs in the operating room. If not properly controlled, airborne microorganisms can increase the risk of surgical problems and prolong the recovery period, thus jeopardizing patient safety. This disease can also be the cause of nosocomial infections. The main purpose of this study was to determine the most common microorganisms found in operating rooms in Indonesia. By collecting and analyzing data from a variety of literature sources, the study provides a deeper understanding of the composition of airborne microorganisms, the factors that influence them, and their implications for clinical practice and hospital policy. This study collected 37 articles filtered according to inclusion and exclusion criteria using the preferred reporting items for systematic review and meta-analysis (PRISMA) model. It was found that Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli became the most frequently occurring microrganisms. The results of this study have consequences that emphasize the need for better hygiene habits, efficient ventilation systems, and increased awareness of infection risks among medical personnel. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to improving the standard of safety and patient care in hospitals in Indonesia.

Abstract

Introduction: Microbial contamination in healthcare facilities, particularly in outpatient rooms, raises the risk of nosocomial infections and endangers the health of both patients and personnel. The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of three sterilizing methods—ultraviolet (UV) light, fogging, and drymist—in lowering bacterial counts and microbial species in university outpatient dental hospital. Methods: This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest procedure. This design involves assessing outcomes before and after sterilization in the same group to evaluate the intervention’s effects. Samples were collected before and after the sterilization process. Sterile swabs were used to gather microbial samples from surfaces such as examination tables, walls, and medical equipment within the outpatient area. The data were analyzed using paired t-tests and ANOVA. Results and Discussion: All three sterilizing methods were effective in lowering microbial counts, with the UV approach showing the greatest decrease (83.9%), followed by drymist (79.6%) and fogging (63.4%). However, ANOVA findings revealed no significant difference in effectiveness across the three techniques (p = 0.979). Nonetheless, certain bacterial species that are more resistant to sterilization survived after treatment. Conclusion: UV, fogging, and dry mist sterilizing technologies reduce microbial counts in comparable ways, although their performance may be impacted by ambient conditions and the types of bacteria presents. A mix of sterilizing procedures may be required for best results.

Abstract

Food contamination by microbes is a serious issue that threatens public health and the sustainability of the food industry. This study aims to identify microbes that commonly contaminate food and analyze the factors influencing microbial growth in food materials. The methods used include a literature review of relevant scientific studies and data analysis from various sources. Findings indicate that bacteria such as Salmonella and viruses like Norovirus are often the primary causes of food poisoning, while factors such as temperature, humidity, and pH play a crucial role in microbial growth. In conclusion, a deep understanding of microbes and the environmental factors affecting their growth is essential for developing effective control strategies to reduce the risk of food contamination by microbes.
