Abstract

Abstract: The 2024 General Election or General Election is a democratic celebration for the Indonesian nation which will be held simultaneously (election of president, legislative members and regional heads). So the potential for conflict or failure will be wide open. This potential becomes a logistics when reflecting on the 2019 elections, where there was a lot of spreading hatred, hoax news and even slander and violations on social media. That is why, this research focuses on the ethical role of communication in elections from a Christian ethical perspective. Therefore, even though the number of Christian voters is a minority, their position is also very urgent and strategic. Researchers use qualitative methods with emphasis on literature review and analysis. As a result of the research, three important roles of communication ethics in the 2024 Election were obtained, namely: communication ethics will produce cool and religious communication during the 2024 Election, communication ethics will reduce the spread of hatred, hoax news, and slander spread massively during the 2024 Election, and ethics Communication will create peaceful and conducive elections. Abstrak: Pemilu atau Pemilihan Umum 2024 merupakan pesta demokrasi bagi bangsa Indonesia yang dilaksanakan secara serentak (pemilihan presiden, anggota legislatif dan kepala daerah), sehingga potensi untuk terjadinya konflik atau perselisihan akan terbuka lebar. Potensi ini menjadi logis apabila berkaca pada Pemilu tahun 2019, di mana banyak menyebar ujaran kebencian, berita-berita hoaks hingga fitnah dan penghinaan di media sosial. Itulah sebabnya, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan peran etika komunikasi dalam Pemilu ditinjau dari perspektif etika Kristen. Oleh karena itu, sekalipun jumlah pemilih Kristen adalah minoritas, namun posisinya juga sangat urgen dan strategis. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menitikberatkan pada kajian dan analisis pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga peran penting etika komunikasi dalam Pemilu 2024, yakni: etika komunikasi akan menghasilkan komunikasi yang sejuk dan religius selama Pemilu 2024, etika komunikasi akan meredam tersebarnya ujaran kebencian, berita hoaks, hingga fitnah menyebar secara masif selama Pemilu 2024, dan etika komunikasi akan menciptakan Pemilu yang damai dan kondusif.

Abstract

Abstract: Smoking is a lifestyle that is often found in the practical lives of people, including Christians and even servants of God. This practice raises pros and cons, because the concept of the Bible does not explicitly teach about “no smoking”. Meanwhile, the church is divided on how to deal with it, some consider it no problem, but others see it as something that should not be done. This study was conducted to find a theological principle from the Bible to affirm that Christians do not smoke. Using a qualitative research or literature review approach, several theological reasons were found as follows: (1) the body was created in the image and likeness of God, (2) the body has also received redemption in Christ, and (3) the body will also be resurrected and glorified in eternity.

Abstract

This activity was carried out at State High School Negeri 1 Sipora, in Sioban, Mentawai Regency, West Sumatra. The activity was given with the aim that the training participants, namely students, have a simple and practical understanding and method in understanding the message of the Bible. As a writing, the Bible certainly requires a way of understanding and finding the message contained in it. Because the writings in it are related to many things according to the context of authorship such as language, culture and habits, geography and even the purpose of the writing for early readers. Therefore, the Bible Reading Digging (BRD) training is considered necessary to be delivered to participants. The activity method uses the form of a workshop and begins with the presentation of BGA material and steps. During the training, participants seemed enthusiastic including timely arrival, passion for working in groups and presentation of group work results in a polite, calm and directed manner. Not to forget the role of the teachers who accompanied the group from start to finish so that participants in the group were more enthusiastic. As a result, the presentation of each group showed satisfactory results because the excavation carried out was in accordance with the BRD method taught. Trainees understand the methods provided and are able to do the task.Keywords: BRD; Sipora High School; Mentawai; Youth; BibleAbstrakKegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri 1 Sipora, di Sioban, Kabupaten Mentawai, Sumatera Barat. Kegiatan diberikan dengan tujuan agar peserta pelatihan yakni siswa-siswi memiliki pemahaman dan metode yang sederhana dan praktis dalam memahami pesan Alkitab. Sebagai suatu tulisan Alkitab tentu memerlukan cara memahami dan menemukan pesan yang ada di dalamnya. Sebab tulisan-tulisan di dalamnya terkait banyak hal sesuai konteks kepenulisan misalnya bahasa, budaya dan kebiasaan, geografi bahkan tujuan tulisan itu bagi pembaca awal. Karenanya pelatihan Baca Gali Alkitab (BGA) dipandang perlu disampaikan kepada peserta. Metode kegiatan menggunakan bentuk workshop dan diawali dengan pemaparan materi dan langkah-langkah BGA. Selama pelatihan peserta nampak antusias peserta diantaranya dengan kedatangan tepat waktu, gairah bekerja di kelompok serta presentasi hasil kerja kelompok dengan santun, tenang dan terarah. Tidak ketinggalan peran para Guru yang turut mendampingi kelompok dari awal hingga selesai sehingga peserta dalam kelompok kian semangat. Hasilnya, presentasi dari tiap kelompok menunjukkan hasil yang memuaskan karena penggalian yang dilakukan telah sesuai dengan metode BGA yang diajarkan. Peserta pelatihan memahami metode yang diberikan dan mampu mengerjakan tugas.Kata Kunci: BGA; SMA Sipora; Mentawai; Pemuda; Alkitab

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini mencari tahu strategi komunikasi kepemimpinan yang digunakan oleh Paulus ketika menasihati Timotius seperti yang dicatat dalam 1 Timotius 4:1-16. Hal ini penting untuk diteliti mengingat pada waktu itu Timotius yang sedang melayani di Efesus sedang menghadapi banyak ajaran-ajaran sesat. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif, khususnya kajian pustaka, maka diperoleh beberapa hasil penelitian yang diuraikan berikut ini. Pertama, ajaran-ajaran sesat yang dihadapi oleh Timotius adalah ajaran yang Menekankan Hukum Taurat Secara Berlebihan (Hukum Legalistik), ajaran yang Mengajarkan Pembatasan-Pembatasan Seperti Pelarangan Nikah dan Makanan (Asceticisme atau Askese), ajaran yang Menekankan Pengetahuan Duniawi (Gnostisisme Awal atau Filosofi Duniawi), dan ajaran yang Mendorong Pencarian Kekayaan Sebagai Tujuan Utama (Materialisme atau Ajaran Kesejahteraan).Kedua, adapun strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh Paulus adalah: menggunakan Ajaran yang Tepat dan Berdasarkan Firman Tuhan (Ay. 1-5), menekankan Latihan Rohani dan Pribadi (Ay. 6-10), memberikan Nasihat dan Peringatan dengan Kasih (Ay. 11-14), menjadi Contoh yang Baik (Ay. 12), fokus pada Pengembangan Diri dan Keahlian dalam Pengajaran (Ay. 13-16), konsistensi dalam Mengajar dan Hidup (Ay. 16).

Abstract

This study examines communication ethics based on Ephesians 4:29 in responding to hate speech in the digital age. Three main problems are identified: the increasing polarization between groups, the degradation of ethical communication values among Christians, and the minimal implementation of biblical communication principles in the digital context. Using a qualitative method through comprehensive literature review of the Bible, academic articles, and other relevant sources, this research analyzes the communication principles found in Ephesians 4:29. The analysis reveals three fundamental principles: avoiding corrupt speech, speaking words that build up, and prioritizing peace for the hearers. These principles carry theological implications that can be applied as ethical guidelines for Christian communities in responding to hate speech on social media, particularly in the contexts of churches, schools, and families. This research provides a significant contribution to the development of a constructive digital communication paradigm grounded in Christian values.

Abstract

Religious moderation is very important in the world of education, with the existence of religious moderation can form an attitude of tolerance between students with each other. However, in the study there is data that confirms or provides an indication that there are still some people who do not have a high attitude of tolerance between religious communities. When it is known that the occurrence of an attitude of intolerance between one and another is also influenced by a lack of understanding of the concept of religious moderation correctly. Of course this attitude not only affects the school environment but also the wider community environment. Of course, the problems that occur are serious things that should be considered properly by teachers. Teachers have full responsibility in providing good education to their students and the environment in which they are located. Teachers not only provide general understanding or knowledge but also apply Christian values to the wider community so that they are able to live side by side accepting and respecting each other. The purpose of this study is to provide an understanding of how important the involvement of a teacher is in the world of education, because with the presence of a teacher can provide maximum understanding and education to everyone who experiences problems in themselves. The problem is not only faced or experienced by students but also experienced by the wider community. The writing method is to conduct library research through book sources, journals, websites as supporting references. The results of this study provide a good understanding of the importance of Christian values in religious moderation that contribute to the wider community to be able to live in tolerance. With the presence of a teacher can help various cases that often occur in the lives of every human being specifically regarding the issue of intolerance. Of course, with the presence of a teacher can provide Christian teachings and strengthen good faith to them so that every problem in life faced can be passed well without having to cause division between one another.

Abstract

The problems faced include low student learning outcomes, boredom due to conventional methods, and lack of attention to learning needs and readiness. Challenges in differentiated learning also arise in Christian Religious Education, especially in accommodating student differences without sacrificing the core teachings. In addition, the minimal use of innovative learning media and technology makes learning monotonous and less interesting. One-way learning methods also ignore differences in student abilities and interests, thus reducing student motivation and understanding. This article aims to increase understanding of the importance of integrating differentiated learning methods in Christian Religious Education, emphasizing how this approach creates an inclusive learning environment for students with various needs. Through a qualitative literature review, this study analyzes related literature to explore the relationship between learning differentiation and learning media. The results show that differentiation is very important because it allows teachers to adjust learning materials, processes, and outcomes according to students' needs, interests, and learning styles, while learning media plays an important role in increasing student engagement and understanding of Christian faith values.AbstrakMasalah yang dihadapi meliputi rendahnya hasil belajar siswa, kejenuhan akibat metode konvensional, serta kurangnya perhatian terhadap kebutuhan dan kesiapan belajar. Tantangan dalam pembelajaran berdiferensiasi juga muncul dalam Pendidikan Agama Kristen, terutama dalam mengakomodasi perbedaan siswa tanpa mengorbankan inti ajaran. Selain itu, minimnya penggunaan media pembelajaran inovatif dan teknologi menyebabkan pembelajaran monoton dan kurang menarik. Metode pembelajaran satu arah juga mengabaikan perbedaan kemampuan dan minat siswa, sehingga menurunkan motivasi dan pemahaman siswa. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tentang pentingnya mengintegrasikan metode pembelajaran yang dibedakan dalam Pendidikan Agama Kristen, dengan menekankan bagaimana pendekatan ini menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif bagi siswa dengan berbagai kebutuhan. Melalui tinjauan pustaka kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis literatur terkait untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara diferensiasi pembelajaran dan media pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diferensiasi sangat penting karena memungkinkan guru untuk menyesuaikan materi, proses, dan hasil pembelajaran sesuai dengan kebutuhan, minat, dan gaya belajar siswa, sementara media pembelajaran memainkan peran penting dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa terhadap nilai-nilai iman Kristen.
