Abstract

This activity was carried out at State High School Negeri 1 Sipora, in Sioban, Mentawai Regency, West Sumatra. The activity was given with the aim that the training participants, namely students, have a simple and practical understanding and method in understanding the message of the Bible. As a writing, the Bible certainly requires a way of understanding and finding the message contained in it. Because the writings in it are related to many things according to the context of authorship such as language, culture and habits, geography and even the purpose of the writing for early readers. Therefore, the Bible Reading Digging (BRD) training is considered necessary to be delivered to participants. The activity method uses the form of a workshop and begins with the presentation of BGA material and steps. During the training, participants seemed enthusiastic including timely arrival, passion for working in groups and presentation of group work results in a polite, calm and directed manner. Not to forget the role of the teachers who accompanied the group from start to finish so that participants in the group were more enthusiastic. As a result, the presentation of each group showed satisfactory results because the excavation carried out was in accordance with the BRD method taught. Trainees understand the methods provided and are able to do the task.Keywords: BRD; Sipora High School; Mentawai; Youth; BibleAbstrakKegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri 1 Sipora, di Sioban, Kabupaten Mentawai, Sumatera Barat. Kegiatan diberikan dengan tujuan agar peserta pelatihan yakni siswa-siswi memiliki pemahaman dan metode yang sederhana dan praktis dalam memahami pesan Alkitab. Sebagai suatu tulisan Alkitab tentu memerlukan cara memahami dan menemukan pesan yang ada di dalamnya. Sebab tulisan-tulisan di dalamnya terkait banyak hal sesuai konteks kepenulisan misalnya bahasa, budaya dan kebiasaan, geografi bahkan tujuan tulisan itu bagi pembaca awal. Karenanya pelatihan Baca Gali Alkitab (BGA) dipandang perlu disampaikan kepada peserta. Metode kegiatan menggunakan bentuk workshop dan diawali dengan pemaparan materi dan langkah-langkah BGA. Selama pelatihan peserta nampak antusias peserta diantaranya dengan kedatangan tepat waktu, gairah bekerja di kelompok serta presentasi hasil kerja kelompok dengan santun, tenang dan terarah. Tidak ketinggalan peran para Guru yang turut mendampingi kelompok dari awal hingga selesai sehingga peserta dalam kelompok kian semangat. Hasilnya, presentasi dari tiap kelompok menunjukkan hasil yang memuaskan karena penggalian yang dilakukan telah sesuai dengan metode BGA yang diajarkan. Peserta pelatihan memahami metode yang diberikan dan mampu mengerjakan tugas.Kata Kunci: BGA; SMA Sipora; Mentawai; Pemuda; Alkitab

Abstract

Some students at SMK Negeri 1 Ngabang, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world, students were required to study from home, so the opportunity was misused in using social media. The mistake in using social media is posting oneself via TikTok, dressing inappropriately, smoking, and other impolite actions. The aim of this research is to provide students with a correct understanding of how to use social media responsibly. The research methodology used is qualitative research using observation, interview and literature data collection techniques. The results found are that if PAK teachers concentrate more on providing a correct understanding of the use of social media, then students will become more responsible in using social media, both for business purposes, education, and getting and conveying information online. Conclusion: students at SMK Negeri 1 Ngabang have realized that using social media correctly will bring great benefits to all parties, including those who faithfully use social media in various applications.

Abstract

Human beings often create social conflicts, preventing the establishment of peace, and those who incite discord are referred to as children of the devil. In general, conflicts arise due to social and cultural tensions that influence character and the impact of family environments. Matthew 5:9 emphasizes that peacemakers are not merely those who avoid conflict but also those who actively foster harmony and reconciliation. The character of a peacemaker reflects the identity of being children of God, which means having Christlikeness in the practice of peacebuilding. This study demonstrates that implementing Matthew 5:9 in Christian character education is highly relevant for shaping individuals to become agents of peace in a world full of conflict. The purpose of this research is to examine Christian character education values related to peace, such as love, forgiveness, and reconciliation, and to explore how these principles can be applied in daily life. This study employs a qualitative method. It emphasizes that the character education taught by Jesus Christ is a character-based teaching centered on His example. The findings of this study affirm that Matthew 5:9 holds strong relevance for Christian character education. The values of peace can be internalized in the lives of Christians, enabling them not only to understand the concept of peace but also to practice it in their daily lives.

Abstract

This type of research is Quantitative research that aims to give the influence of The Professionalism of Teachers of Christian Religious Education (PAK) on the learning motivation of students. The professionalism of PAK Teachers is one of the keys that must be owned by a PAK Teacher whose goal is to increase learning motivation for students and have a chance for students both to increase their learning interest even to changes in their character. On the other hand, a PAK Teacher must also be able to be an example as written in 1 Peter 5:2-3, that is, a teacher is like a Shepherd whose job is to guide, direct and even guide his sheep, as well as his duties with a Teachers of Christian Religious Education, must be able to be a shepherd and imitate the Lord Jesus as a Good Teacher and shepherd. Data collection techniques are carried out by spreading the questionnaire as a data collection. The results of the study showed Teacher Professionalism and Learning Motivation. Therefore, it is expected that there is a relationship between Teachers and Student's even Cooperation with parents as a support for Teachers to help increase student learning motivation in Christian Education Learning to improve their achievement in learning and provide very satisfactory results.

Abstract

Student fellowship and discipleship play a significant role in increasing Christian students' learning interest. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of student fellowship and discipleship strategies in building learning motivation through spiritual and academic approaches. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies within Christian student groups in schools and church communities. The findings reveal that student fellowship creates a collaborative learning environment, while discipleship provides personal mentoring to strengthen students' character and sense of responsibility. Group discussions, communal prayers, and structured mentoring have proven effective in enhancing both learning interest and spiritual maturity among students. The discussion emphasizes the integration of faith-based values into the learning process as a holistic and effective approach. In conclusion, student fellowship and discipleship are relevant strategies for shaping Christian students with high learning motivation and strong character.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Gereja Oikumene Sungai Serawi. Satu-satunya gereja yang terletak di aliran Sungai Serawi, desa Keeling Panggau, Kecamatan Empanang, Kabupaten Kapus Hulu, Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Fakta di lokasi PkM ditemukan banyaknya pernikahan usia muda, hubungan keluarga yang tidak harmonis, dan beberapa perceraian karena kurangnya pemahaman tentang pernikahan seusai ajaran Kristen. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan, ada pula yang menikah di luar nikah. Hidup bersama tanpa melalui proses Pernikahan Kudus merupakan sebuah kenyataan yang lumrah. Hal inilah yang mendorong diberikan pengajaran bagi generasi muda di sana. Agar generasi muda memahami pernikahan kudus sesuai agama Kristen. Karena Pernikahan Kudus merupakan bagian dari ajaran Firman Tuhan dalam mendirikan rumah tangga. Namun Pernikahan Kudus bisa terabaikan jika masyarakat tidak mendapat pendidikan yang memadai sebelumnya. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan metode observasi dan ceramah. Ceramah yang diberikan juga disertai dengan pendampingan selama empat bulan agar masyarakat mendapat arahan yang jelas dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasilnya ditemukan pemahaman tentang pernikahan suci di kalangan generasi muda dan komitmen membentuk rumah tangga melalui tahapan yang benar.

Abstract

This research examines theologically the expressions of Adam and Christ in Paul's theological perspective. This is quite interesting to study, and the purpose of this research is to clarify Paul's intention when he felt this way in his letter. Researchers used qualitative methods, especially literature or literature review in this study. First, the theological emphasis of the expressions of Adam and Christ is to state about Adam's disobedience and vice versa Christ's obedience. Second, the emergence of the phrases Adam and Christ in Paul's letters will create a significant and striking difference between the first Adam who brought sin to the world and the second Adam, namely Christ who brought life to the world. Third, this phrase also wants to emphasize how well the quality of the second Adam is much higher and nobler than the quality of the first Adam. That is why, everyone who has been born again in the second Adam (namely Christ) will experience eternal life with the true source of life.

Abstract

This research specifically examines the phenomenon of LGBT in society. The goal is to produce a perspective and an effective way that the Church and society should do to serve and heal LGBT sufferers. This research uses qualitative methods, especially literature review to describe, analyze to produce new propositions on this topic. Through this research, several conclusions were obtained. First, LGBT is a sin and a mistake that arises as a result of sin, so it needs to be addressed with great care and wisdom so that you don't react wrongly. Second, the role of the Church is so significant in serving every person with LGBT. The church must not excommunicate or reject them, but it must not ostensibly justify their every wrong action. On the other hand, the church must firmly say that LGBT is a mistake and a sin that violates God's glory, while the church carries out pastoral actions and services to heal and restore them. Third, apart from the church, the role of the general public is also significant. Because society must help every person with LGBT to realize and want to improve their life that has deviated from God's will.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manfaat bimbingan rohani bagi murid Sekolah Dasar (SD), dalam kemampuan akademik dan afektif. Pola pendidikan dan perlakuan terhadap murid SD harus dicari, ditentukan dan diterapkan dengan sebenar-benarnya oleh Guru agar maksimal. Metode pembelajaran menggunakan metode ceramah, dengan pendampingan tiap minggu selama enam bulan. Pembinaan rohani diberikan tiap minggu dengan terjadwal yakni Senin dan Sabtu selama Pebruari hingga Juli 2022. Dari sejumlah siswa yang rajin mengikuti, terdapat 95% mengalami perubahan demi perubahan. Guru-guru sangat terbantu dalam mengarahkan murid-murid dalam belajar dan berbagai kegiatan sekolah lainnya. Orang tua juga mengakui adanya perubahan performa di rumah seperti rajin membantu pekerjaan-pekerjaan di rumah misalnya mencuci pakaian sendiri, meberihkan rumah dan menjaga keharmonisan dengan anggota keluarga yang lain.
