Abstract

This study aims to produce a problem-based learning weblog on hydrocarbons. The research method used is Research and Development (RnD), the research model used is according to Borg and Gall which is limited to the 5th stage.  The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire using a Rating scale with five ratings arranged in the form of a checklist.  The results of this study are in the form of a problem-based learning weblog on hydrocarbon material called let's learn.  The weblog based on problem based learning on hydrocarbon material is declared feasible based on the results of the study, the percentage of assessment on media validation by material experts is 91% and media experts is 83.33% with very valid assessment criteria, the percentage of assessment on the teacher practicality test is 86.66%  with very practical assessment criteria, and student response test of 83.3% stated very good.

Abstract

The application of problem-based learning model teaches students how to deal with problems and find solutions by expressing opinions and providing logical justification for real problems, so it is expected to improve students' argumentation skills. This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning model on students' argumentation skills on salt hydolysis material. This study was carried out in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year at MAN 2 Kampar, class XI IPA.Pretest-posttest Non-Equivalent Control Grub Design was the experimental design for this study, which used quasi-experimental methods. The sample consisted of XI IPA1 students as the experimental class and XI IPA2 as the control class. Data collected to measure students argumentation skills through tests and observations and analyzed using t-test and coefficient of determination test in SPSS 24. In the t-test, the Sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 outcome is more modest than 0.05, and that implies H0 is dismissed and Ha is accepted. For the determination test, the value (r2) = 0.284 is obtained, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model affects students argumentation skills on salt hydrolysis material by 28.4%.

Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) need to be implemented to create environmentally friendly chemistry learning. This can be done in an acid-base titration experiment using natural indicators of butterfly pea flowers. This research aims to produce a practicum guide for acid-base titrations using natural indicators of butterfly pea flowers that are valid and practicum. The research design uses the ADDIE research design, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research results showed that butterfly pea flowers can be used as a natural indicator for acid-base titrations with color changes from pink (acidic condition) to blue (basic condition). The resulting learning media is a practicum guide which has a validity of 92% (very valid) and a practicality level of 88.75% (very practical). This data was analyzed using qualitative and quantitative analysis. The practicum guide developed is valid and practical to use as a practicum learning media in schools.

Abstract

The implementation of Merdeka curriculum has not long been established as the national curriculum, so many schools still lack teaching materials with limited textbooks.  This research aimed at developing STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) based Pancasila student profile strengthening project module on Chemical Bond lesson, and it was conducted with validity test by media and material experts, teacher practicality test, and student response test.  Research and Development (RnD) method was used in this research with Design and Development Research (DDR).  This research was conducted at State Senior High Schools 14 and 1 Pekanbaru.  The research findings showed that the validity scores were 82.6% by media experts with very valid category and 87.45% by material experts with very valid category.  The result of teacher practicality test showed that the mean was 93.84%, and it was on very practical category.  The last test was student response test, the result was 83.58%, and it was on very valid category.  The research findings showed that STREAM-based P5 teaching module developed was very valid, practical, and interesting for students.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep kimia yang berlandaskan teori dan tidak berwujud sangat bergantung pada keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan, pembelajaran di bidang ini terus bergantung pada guru, yang menghambat kemajuan siswa. Namun, penelitian menyebutkan bahwa menggunakan strategi pemecahan masalah dapat meningkatkan hasil kognitif.  Hal Ini ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 32.41% pada reaksi redoks dan kenaikan sebesar 88% pada penguasaan konsep mol. Dengan nilai n-gain sebesar 0,76, dinyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran yang telah diubah dengan menggabungkan teknologi digital, seperti  e-modul, laboratorium virtual, dan lembar kerja elektronik, efektif dalam menyampaikan konsep abstrak. Selain itu, keterampilan seperti kesadaran metakognitif dan komunikasi ilmiah diperkuat model pembelajaran tersebut. Dengan kata lain, masalah yang muncul di era digital saat ini disajikan dengan cara yang efektif, dan solusi masalah tersebut sehingga membantu siswa belajar dalam lingkungan yang mendorong kerja sama. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mempelajari fitur, manfaat, dan keberhasilan pembelajaran Pemecahan Masalah dalam pendidikan kimia di era digital. Tinjauan Literatur Sistematis, atau SLR, digunakan dan disesuaikan dengan diagram PRISMA. Databasisnya adalah ScienceDirect dan Google Scholar. Sebanyak 17 artikel yang relevan sudah dianalisis dan dirangkum, yang diterbitkan dari tahun 2015 sampai 2025.

Abstract

This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) investigates the integration of Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) in chemistry education to foster 21st-century skills. Using the PRISMA framework, 15 empirical studies published between 2020 and 2025 were analyzed from Google Scholar, SINTA, and Scopus. The findings indicate that SSI-based learning significantly impacts various student competencies, with the highest distribution of improvement observed in Critical Thinking (38%) and Science Literacy (31%), followed by Argumentation (13%). Additionally, Problem Solving, Creative Thinking, and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) each contributed 6% to the reported outcomes. The integration of real-world issues, such as green chemistry and polymer waste, proved effective in bridging abstract chemistry concepts with social-environmental responsibility. This study concludes that SSI serves as a vital catalyst for transforming chemistry pedagogy. Future research should focus on developing standardized assessment instruments to measure the long-term retention of these skills.
