Abstract

Mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris memiliki peran positif dalam menciptakan proses belajar mengajar yang berorientasi siswa sehingga dapat membantu meningkatkan aktivitas dan proses berpikir siswa. Oleh karena itu, sangat penting bagi guru bahasa Inggris untuk memiliki keterampilan dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam mengajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana keterampilan guru dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam mengajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Acara ini dilaksanakan pada Januari 2023- Juni 2023 di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas Islam Negeri di Pekanbaru, Provinsi Riau, Indonesia. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel total. Jadi, ada 10 guru bahasa Inggris sebagai sampel penelitian. Untuk mengumpulkan data, para peneliti menggunakan kuesioner. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Skala Likert dan rumus Mean Score. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan guru dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam mengajar bahasa Inggris dikategorikan ke tingkat tinggi dengan skor rata-rata 4,08. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa para guru memiliki keterampilan yang tinggi dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam mengajar bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Linguistic problems were found as problems faced by students in speaking English. This research aimed to describe students’ non-linguistic problems in speaking English. It was descriptive quantitative research. The data were collected by using questionnaires, and analyzed by using percentage. The result of the research showed that the percentage of students’ non-linguistic problem in speaking English were inhibition (25.6%), Nothing to say (25.2%), Low Participant (25.1%), and Mother-Tongue (24.1%). It can be concluded that inhibition was the dominant non-linguistic problem students faced in speaking English.Keywords: investigating, non-Linguistic problems, speaking English.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan mengenai teknik budidaya dan pengelolaan buah nenas menjadi produk yang inovatif sebagai peluang usaha bagi generasi muda di Kecamatan Tapung, Kabupaten Kampar, Provinsi Riau. Metode kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, tanya jawab dan praktek. Kegiatan dilaksanakan untuk generasi muda di Kecamatan Tapung, Kabupaten Kampar. Kegiatan pengabdian dengan tema pelatihan budidaya buah nenas sebagai peluang usaha bagi generasi muda di Kecamatan Tapung, Kabupaten Kampar berjalan dengan lancar. Peserta pengabdian sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini sehingga hasil pengabdian masyarakat sangat bermanfaat terutama bagi generasi muda, yang tadinya belum memahami mengenai budidaya buah nenas serta pengolahan berbagai produk turunan dari buah nenas sekarang sudah memahami dan mengetahui mengenai budidaya buah nenas dan pengolahan buah nenas menjadi produk yang inovatif. Kegiatan ini bermanfaat bagi para generasi muda dalam rangka menciptakan peluang usaha dan meningkatkan kemampuan berwirausaha.

Abstract

Literature Circles have been found to have effects on students’ reading comprehension.  The question is how Literature Circle can affect students’ reading comprehension in analytical exposition text. This research aimed to examine whether or not there is a significant difference on reading comprehension of analytical exposition texts between students who were taught by using Literature Circles and without using Literature Circles. The research design used in this research was a quasi-experimental design. The researcher used a two-group pre-test and post- test design. The population of this research were the eleventh grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (Islamic Senior High School)  Pekanbaru., Riau province, Indonesia. The samples of the research were 37 students taken by using Purposive sampling technique.  In collecting the data, researchers used Pre-test and Post-test of reading comprehension of analytical exposition texts in the form of a multiple-choice test. To analyze the data, researchers used an independent sample T-test and eta-squared. The result of the research showed that there was a significant difference on reading comprehension of analytical exposition texts between students taught by using Literature Circles and without using Literature Circles with sigma 2 tailed 0,000. So, it showed that there was an effect of Literature Circles on students’ reading comprehension of analytical exposition texts. The effect size was categorized into large effect (0.26). In conclusion, Literature Circles are effective to help students in reading comprehension of analytical exposition texts. So, it is recommended that teachers should use Literature circles in teaching reading comprehension.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out whether there is a significant influence between students' speaking ability before and after being taught by using the cake learning application. This research was quantitative. The design of this research was a pre-experimental method with one group pre-test design and post-test design. The research used one class as the sample of the research by using a convenience sampling technique which the total of sample were 33 students. To collect data, the researcher used a test to determine students' speaking ability. In analyzing the data, the researcher used a paired t test by using SPSS version 25. The results of data analyzed showed that the mean score of students after being taught by using the Cake Learning Application (78.24) was higher than before being taught by using the Cake Learning Application (57.64). It can be concluded that there was an influence between students' speaking ability before and after being taught by using the cake learning application. Keywords: Cake Learning Application, speaking

Abstract

Kepribadian guru adalah salah satu karakter guru yang memengaruhi motivasi siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar. Ada beberapa penelitian sebelumnya yang menyelidiki pengaruh kepribadian guru dan motivasi siswa. Peneliti menemukan penelitian sebelumnya yang berfokus pada pengaruh kepribadian guru terhadap motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Perbedaan antara penelitian ini dan penelitian sebelumnya terletak pada lokasi dan desain penelitian. Kedua penelitian dilakukan di Indonesia, tetapi provinsi yang berbeda. Penelitian sebelumnya dilakukan di Papua Barat, sedangkan penelitian ini dilakukan di Provinsi Riau, Penelitian sebelumnya menggunakan desain survei, sedangkan penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian korelasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari kepribadian guru bahasa Inggris terhadap motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu sekolah menengah pertama negeri di Pekanbaru, provinsi Riau, di Indonesia. 150 siswa dan 3 guru bahasa Inggris dipilih secara acak sebagai sampel penelitian ini dengan menggunakan simple random sampling. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data kepribadian guru dan motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Data dianalisis menggunakan Regresi Linear Sederhana. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kepribadian guru terhadap motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris dengan nilai sig. 0,001, dan kepribadian guru memiliki kontribusi sebesar 6,4% terhadap motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif antara kepribadian guru dan motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Every learner has different decision to pursue and sustain English language learning.  Their decisions are aspects of English language learning motivation.  This research aimed to describe how the students’ motivation in learning English based on their decision to pursue and sustain English language learning. This research was descriptive quantitative. The population in this research were the sixth semester students of English Department of one of State Islamic University in Pekanbaru, Riau Province, Indonesia. Simple Random Sampling Technique was used to take the research sample. The number of samples were 91 students. The instrument used was questionnaires using Likert-Scales analyzed by using Percentage. The result of the research showed that the students’ motivation in learning English was categorized into high level for each motivation aspect. However, the highest motivation aspect came from parental encouragement with the percentage 14 %. Based on the result, it can be concluded that parental encouragement is the most dominant motivation aspect that make the students pursue and sustain in learning English.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe students’ dominant problems in speaking English at one of state Islamic senior high school in Pekanbaru, Riau Province; Indonesia. This research was descriptive quantitative research. The population of this research was 395 from 12 classes and the researcher took the sample by using purposive sampling technique with total of samples were 60 students. The instrument used in this research was a documentation.  The researcher analyzed the data by using total score. Based on the result of the research, it was found that the students’ dominant problems in speaking English was fluency with the total score was 187. The researcher concludes that fluency is the most dominant problem faced by the students in speaking English.
