Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of variations of temperature activation with the Potassium Silicate (K2SiO3) agent on the electrical conductivity and capasitance of activated carbon from the sugar palm bunches (Arenga Pinnata Merr.). Activated carbon from bunches of sugar palm acquired in four steps: 1) preparation; 2) carbonization using the pyrolysis reactor with temperature of 300oC-400oC for 8 hours; 3) chemical activation using of potassium silicate (K2SiO3) activator in weight ratio of 2: 1 for 12 hours; and 4) physical activation using the electric furnace for 30 minutes with temperature variation of 600oC, 650oC, 700oC, 750oC and 800oC. Electrical conductivity was determined and analyzed by the I-V method, the capasitance was determined by using a RC circuit (Resistor Capasitor). The highest electrical conductivity and capasitance were at the temperature of 800oC that equal to 1.75 x 10-1 Ω-1m-1 and 102.07 nF respectively.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to find out how instructors employ the Communicative Language Teaching approach in the English classroom, as well as the strategies and resources they use to help students develop their speaking skills. This can be seen from the class activities, speaking materials until the strategies that has been implemented in some research. This article takes the form of a review of documents and literatures, with an evaluation of knowledge as the basis. As a result, as a teacher, you may learn from other countries that have successfully implemented and developed CLT in improving students' speaking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out whether there is a significant influence between students' speaking ability before and after being taught by using the cake learning application. This research was quantitative. The design of this research was a pre-experimental method with one group pre-test design and post-test design. The research used one class as the sample of the research by using a convenience sampling technique which the total of sample were 33 students. To collect data, the researcher used a test to determine students' speaking ability. In analyzing the data, the researcher used a paired t test by using SPSS version 25. The results of data analyzed showed that the mean score of students after being taught by using the Cake Learning Application (78.24) was higher than before being taught by using the Cake Learning Application (57.64). It can be concluded that there was an influence between students' speaking ability before and after being taught by using the cake learning application. Keywords: Cake Learning Application, speaking

Abstract

The aims of this study was to find out how the difference in speaking skills between introverted and extroverted students in English class. This can be seen from class activities, speaking materials to strategies that have been applied in several studies. This article is in the form of a document and a literature review, on the basis of a knowledge evaluation. To conclude, there are some significant differences in speaking performace between extroverted and introverted students. The results of the study showed that extroverted students were superior to introverted students in speaking performance. And teachers or lecturers can also try to accommodate and facilitate students based on their preferred learning style
