Abstract

The formation of ethnic identity illustrates the important task for emotional development during adolescence. Hope is a protective factor for adolescents during the process of identity formation. This study aims to determine the effect of hope on the development of ethnic identity of adolescents in NTT. The participants of this study were 45 adolescents aged 17-19 years old who were studying at several universities in NTT. The sample of the study was taken by using purposive sampling technique. This study used the Children Hope Scale (CHS) and Ethnic Identity Scale to measure the effect of hope on the development of ethnic identity of adolescents in NTT. Hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis resulted in significance value (Sig.) 0.040 <0.05, t-statistic 2,115> 2,015, R square = 0.094. The results of the study show that there is a significant effect of hope variable amounts to 9,4% on the development of ethnic identity of adolescents in NTT. This study implies the need to cultivate hope as an effective variable in developing emotional skills of adolescents by way of improving solidarity among members in various ethnic groups in NTT.

Abstract

Abstract. The lack of self-acceptance, low self-esteem, and insufficient social support can lead to inner conflicts both with oneself and with those around, which can hinder the healing process of patients at Naimata Regional Mental Hospital. Psychosocial intervention activities are conducted as support in the healing process of patients in the rehabilitation room of Naimata Regional Mental Hospital. The psychosocial intervention activities utilize a psychoeducation method with three techniques: sharing sessions, art therapy, and forgiveness therapy. Through the psychosocial intervention activities conducted for patients in the rehabilitation room of Naimata Regional Mental Hospital, it was found that the patients actively participated in these activities. The success of the three techniques is measured by the achievement of the goals of each technique applied to the patients, and these techniques are considered successful because each patient participated in the activities and understood them. This understanding was assessed through several questions related to the three techniques: sharing sessions, art therapy, and forgiveness therapy. This process is expected to be useful and beneficial for patients to help enhance inner peace and accelerate the healing process of patients at Naimata Regional Mental Hospital. Abstrak. Kurangnya penerimaan diri, rendahnya harga diri, dan kurangnya dukungan sosial, dapat menjadi konflik batin baik dengan diri sendiri maupun dengan orang di sekitar, yang mana hal ini dapat menghambat proses penyembuhan pasien di Rumah Sakit Daerah Jiwa Naimata. Kegiatan intervensi psikososial yang dilakukan sebagai dukungan dalam proses penyembuhan para pasien di ruang rehabilitasi Rumah Sakit Daerah Jiwa Naimata. Kegiatan intervensi psikososial yang dilakukan menggunakan metode psikoedukasi dengan tiga teknik yang digunakan yakni sharing session, art therapy, dan forgiveness therapy. Melalui kegiatan intervensi psikososial yang dilakukan kepada para pasien di ruang rehabilitasi Rumah Sakit Daerah Jiwa Naimata, didapati hasil bahwa para pasien mengikuti kegiatan ini dengan  berpartisipasi aktif, keberhasilan dari ketiga teknik ini diukur dengan ketercapaian tujuan dari setiap teknik yang diaplikasikan kepada para pasien dan ketiga teknik ini dikatakan mencapai tujuan karena setiap pasien mengikuti kegiatan tersebut dan memahaminya  ini diukur dengan beberapa pertanyaan yang diajukan berkaitan dengan ketiga teknik tersebut yakni sharing session, art therapy, dan forgiveness therapy. Proses ini diharapkan dapat berguna dan bermanfaat bagi para pasien untuk membantu meningkatkan perdamaian dalam diri dan mempercepat proses penyembuhan para pasien di Rumah Sakit Daerah Jiwa Naimata.

Abstract

Abstract. Adolescents living in orphanages certainly experience various life dynamics that impact their mental health. Living without parents leads to psychological conditions that are less fulfilled compared to children from intact families. This can have negative effects on their daily activities. Some adolescents in orphanages have been reported to experience depression, anxiety, stress, and recall traumatic experiences from childhood. Therefore, psychosocial interventions with various psychological approaches are necessary to help address these conditions. This psychosocial intervention program was conducted at the Agape Love Orphanage in Kupang City, involving 11 adolescents. The primary method used in this psychosocial intervention is art therapy, which is considered an effective medium for improving adolescents' mental health. Additionally, other methods combined with art therapy in this psychosocial intervention include peer counseling and psychoeducation. The results of the intervention were measured using a self-report scale to assess the effectiveness of the three methods used to enhance the mental health of the participants. The mean score showed a change from 27.6 to 35.9, with a highest score of 40.0, indicating the achievement of the psychosocial intervention process. For future recommendations, the psychosocial intervention program could involve professional experts such as psychologists in utilizing art therapy techniques to enhance mental health in clinical settings. Abstrak. Remaja yang tinggal di panti asuhan tentu mengalami berbagai dinamika kehidupan yang berdampak pada kesehatan mental mereka. Hidup tanpa orang tua membuat mereka mengalami kondisi psikologis yang kurang terpenuhi layaknya anak-anak yang berasal dari keluarga yang utuh. Hal ini dapat memberikan dampak negatif dalam menjalani aktivitas sehari-hari. Beberapa remaja yang tinggal di panti asuhan dilaporkan mengalami depresi, kecemasan, stres dan juga mengingat pengalaman traumatis semasa kecil. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan intervensi psikososial dengan berbagai pendekatan psikologis untuk membantu mengatasi kondisi tersebut. Program intervensi psikososial ini dilakukan di Panti Asuhan Kasih Agape Kota Kupang yang diikuti oleh 11 orang remaja. Metode utama yang digunakan dalam intervensi psikososial ini adalah teknik art therapy yang dinilai mampu menjadi media untuk meningkatkan kesehatan mental remaja. Selain itu, metode lain yang dikombinasikan dengan art therapy dalam intervensi psikososial ini adalah konseling sebaya dan psikoedukasi. Hasil dari intervensi diukur dengan menggunakan skala self-report untuk menguji keefektifan dari ketiga metode yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan mental remaja yang terlibat. Nilai mean menunjukkan perubahan dari 27,6 menjadi 35,9 dengan nilai tertinggi 40,0 yang menunjukan ketercapaian dari proses intervensi psikososial yang dilakukan. Rekomendasi di masa depan, program intervensi psikososial dapat melibatkan tenaga ahli profesional seperti psikolog dalam menggunakan teknik art therapy untuk meningkatkan kesehatan mental dalam pengaturan klinis.

Abstract

Abstrac. Children and adolescents with disabilities in SLB need to have knowledge about coping stress strategies and understand about sexual violence and its prevention. Training of trainers (ToT) training for teachers in SLB on coping stress and prevention and handling of sexual violence was done for the purpose to provide knowledge for students in SLB on how to overcome stress and prevent sexual violence that are susceptible to be experienced by children and adolescents with disabilities. This training activity is a form of community service carried out on teachers at SLB Negeri Lobalain, Rote-Ndao Regency. A total of 17 teachers participated in this community service activity. A quasi-experimental study with one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted to measure the effectiveness of the training. The results of the hypothesis testing showed that the training has a significant effect on participants' understanding, t(16) = -5.738, p 0.001, d = -1.392. Abstrak. Anak dan remaja penyandang disabilitas di SLB perlu memiliki pengetahuan tentang strategi coping stres dan memahami tentang kekerasan seksual dan pencegahannya. Pelatihan training of trainers (ToT) bagi para guru di SLB tentang coping stres dan pencegahan serta penanganan kekerasan seksual dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan bagi para siswa di SLB tentang bagaimana mengatasi stres dan mencegah kekerasan seksual yang rentan dialami oleh anak dan remaja penyandang disabilitas. Kegiatan pelatihan ini merupakan suatu bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan pada para guru di SLB Negeri Lobalain, Kabupaten Rote-Ndao. Sebanyak 17 orang guru mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan one-group pretest-posttest design dilakukan untuk mengukur efektivitas pelatihan. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan yang diberikan berpengaruh signifikan pada pemahaman peserta, t(16) = -5.738, p 0.001, d = -1.392.

Abstract

Gender inequality remains a pressing social issue, particularly in thedivision of roles between men and women. Among marginalized communities,gender relations are further complicated by intersecting social and economicpressures. This study examines gender role inequality within family life in the AquAda Community, Kupang, employing a qualitative phenomenological approach.Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with 9 participants and analyzedusing Caroline Moser’s gender analysis framework. The findings reveal that womenexperience a double burden, balancing work outside the home with full responsibilityfor domestic tasks. These inequalities are entrenched by strong patriarchal culturalnorms. Economic hardship further exacerbates gender disparities, while maledominance in household decision-making contributes to negative consequences forwomen’s well-being. The study highlights the emergence of awareness and dialogueamong couples regarding the need for more equitable role-sharing, signaling thepotential for gradual transformation in gender relations within marginalizedcontexts.

Abstract

The Sikka community has a rich cultural heritage, including the traditional Moke drink that enriches their ethnic identity. However, the influence of globalization, such as information technology, social media, international trade, and cultural exchange, has shifted the understanding and practices related to Moke from the previous generation to the younger generation. This study explores Sikka students' understanding and analysis of the moke tradition in the context of social and technological change. The research method used is qualitative, with semi-structured interviews in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara, involving Sikka ethnic students as subjects. The study results indicate that Moke is a drink and an important symbol in maintaining ethnic identity and traditional values. However, the challenges of preserving it in the modern era require adaptation to the dynamics of globalization without sacrificing the richness of this unique local culture.

Abstract

One of the recommendations which is principle regarding cases of violence against children is that all violence against children can be prevented and countries should invest in evidence-based policies and programs to address the factors that lead to violence against children. By means of psychoeducation for young parents who are in the early years of marriage (0-10 years), this community service activity is aimed at preventing and deal with violence against children. This activity was held at the Gedung Pramuka, Oesapa Village, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City. Forty-one parents in Kupang City participated in this community service activity. In this community service activity, 23 participants who are in the early years of marriage became research participants. The community service is carried out by providing psychoeducational materials about the prevention and handling of violence against children, while the research is carried out using an experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The result of hypothesis testing indicates that psychoeducational activity to prevent violence against children have a positive effect on the understanding of young parents in Kupang City. ABSTRAK: Salah satu rekomendasi yang merupakan prinsip terkait kasus kekerasan pada anak adalah semua kekerasan terhadap anak dapat dicegah dan negara-negara harus berinvestasi dalam kebijakan dan program berbasis bukti untuk mengatasi faktor-faktor yang menimbulkan kekerasan terhadap anak. Melalui psikoedukasi bagi orang tua muda yang berada pada tahap tahun-tahun awal pernikahan (0-10 tahun), kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini ditujukan untuk mencegah dan menangani kekerasan terhadap anak. Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan di Gedung Pramuka, Kelurahan Oesapa, Kecamatan Kelapa Lima, Kota Kupang. Empat puluh satu orang tua di Kota Kupang berpartisipasi sebagai peserta kegiatan pengabdian. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, selanjutnya sebanyak 23 orang peserta yang berada pada tahap tahun-tahun awal pernikahan menjadi partisipan penelitian. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan materi psikoedukasi tentang pencegahan dan penanganan kekerasan terhadap anak, sedangkan penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan one-group pretest-posttest design. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan psikoedukasi pencegahan kekerasan terhadap anak berpengaruh positif pada pemahaman pasangan orang tua muda di Kota Kupang.

Remaja memerlukan dukungan sosial untuk meningkatkan literasi kesehatan mental. Psikoedukasi literasi kesehatan mental dilakukan dengan tujuan agar remaja memiliki literasi tentang kesehatan mental dan mengetahui tentang cara mengatasi masalah kesehatan mental baik bagi dirinya sendiri maupun bagi orang lain. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Gereja Imanuel Manefu Baumata, Kabupaten Kupang. Sebanyak 27 remaja mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan one-group pretest-posttest design dilakukan terhadap 27 partisipan untuk mengukur efektivitas psikoedukasi. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa psikoedukasi literasi kesehatan mental berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman remaja tentang kesehatan mental, t (26) = -7,217, p kurang dari 0,001, d = -1,389. Abstract. Mental health literacy psychoeducation was carried out with the purpose that adolescents have literacy about mental health and know about how to deal with mental health problems both for themselves and for others. This activity was held at Imanuel Manefu Baumata Church, Kupang Regency. A total of 27 teenagers participated in this community service activity. A quasi-experimental study with one-group pretest-posttest design was carried out on 27 participants to measure the effectiveness of the psychoeducation. The results of the hypothesis testing show that psychoeducation of mental health literacy has an effect on adolescents’ understanding on mental health, t (26) = -7,217, p less than 0.001, d = -1,389.
