Abstract

The Maurek Bawang community in Nagari Aie Winter is in a peripheral position and has limited access to resources, opportunities and opportunities to improve their standard of living. This causes people to be trapped in a cycle of poverty. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative research method. The results found that the solution to overcome the marginalization that occurred was that the local government launched a comprehensive community empowerment program. This empowerment program covers various aspects, such as increasing agricultural productivity, opening market access, developing capacity and skills, strengthening local institutions, as well as partnerships with related institutions. Even though this program has shown positive results, such as increasing productivity and income, there are still challenges that must be faced, such as limited natural resources, inadequate infrastructure, limited access to capital and technology, as well as climate change and natural disasters. To overcome these challenges, close cooperation and collaboration is needed between the government, related institutions and society itself.

Abstract

The way an educational institution ensures that procedures and results meet predetermined criteria is called SPMI. A variety of related literature, including books, journals, and research papers, was collected and examined in this study to pinpoint best practices, barriers, and important variables influencing the efficacy of SPMI. The analysis findings show that the successful implementation of SPMI can improve educational standards through improving teaching, curriculum development, and implementing continuous assessment. SPMI's success cannot be separated from several factors, including the dedication of the management team, employee training, and the involvement of all stakeholders. However, to get the best results, obstacles such as limited resources and reluctance to change must also be overcome. To achieve higher quality education, this research offers useful suggestions for educational institutions to create and implement SPMI.

Abstract

This study investigates the phenomenon of digital marginalization in Talang Kemuning Village, where inadequate network infrastructure creates significant barriers to digital inclusion. Grounded in Amartya Sen's Capability Approach, the research conceptualizes development as a process of expanding individuals' substantive freedoms to achieve valued ways of living. The absence of reliable internet access has created multidimensional deprivation, limiting residents' ability to participate in digital communication, access vital information, and engage in socioeconomic opportunities. The study addresses two central questions: (1) How does infrastructure deficiency perpetuate digital inequality in rural communities? (2) What strategies can local change agents employ to mitigate these disparities? Using a qualitative descriptive methodology, we analyze geographical constraints, technical limitations, and the resultant social exclusion. Data collection included in-depth interviews with community members and participatory observation of digital access initiatives. Findings reveal that connectivity limitations create cascading effects: students face educational disadvantages due to inability to access online learning; local entrepreneurs are excluded from digital marketplaces; and social isolation intensifies as community members cannot participate in virtual networks. However, the research documents an innovative community-led solution through the implementation of a voucher-based WiFi system. This intervention demonstrates how localized approaches can simultaneously address technical access barriers while enhancing human capabilities. The study contributes to digital development literature by showing how Sen's framework applies to connectivity challenges. It argues that sustainable solutions require both technological infrastructure and capacity-building initiatives that empower communities to convert access into meaningful opportunities. These insights have important implications for policymakers designing inclusive digital development programs in rural contexts.

Abstract

This study examines the escalation of interreligious conflict on the TikTok platform, which is increasingly dominating social interaction in Indonesia. By analysing five live videos related to religious conflict (broadcast between January 2023 and December 2024) and 853,513 Indonesian-language comments through thematic coding and sentiment classification, it was found that TikTok's algorithm plays a significant role in reinforcing ideological polarization. Content nuanced with religious conflict generated an average of 3.5 times more comments, and videos containing negative emotions were shared four times more often than neutral or positive content. This digital conflict often spilled over into the real world, triggering police intervention. The response of law enforcement officers was generally reactive, unable to mitigate the conflict early. These findings emphasize the need for strategic collaboration between digital platforms, law enforcement officials, and civil society to promote digital literacy and ethical interfaith dialogue. This collaboration is expected to prevent ideological segregation and create a more constructive interaction space in the digital era.

Abstract

Masgo Village is one of the remote villages in Kerinci Regency that experiences marginalization in social, economic, and infrastructural aspects. This study aims to examine the extent to which the participation of marginalized communities can synergize with village government efforts in building sustainable village self-reliance. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that despite their marginalized condition, the people of Masgo Village possess strong social capital, such as a spirit of mutual cooperation and high community solidarity. Community participation is evident in various local initiatives, such as road repairs, water resource management, and the formation of farmer groups. However, participation in formal forums like village deliberations remains procedural and lacks inclusivity. The study recommends the need for empowerment strategies and facilitation from the village government so that the community's participatory potential can evolve into a transformative force for achieving village self-reliance.
