Abstract

The Indonesian economy is largely derived from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The MSME sector has a strategic role in the Indonesian economy because it is significant in contributing to the formation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) tend to not keep up with the development of digital technology, mainly due to a lack of knowledge about digital marketing. Therefore, the Postgraduate Muslim Student Association (HIMMPAS) of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia conducted training through social entrepreneurship activity in Bojongpicung Village and Jati Village, Cianjur Regency, West Java. This training aimed to provide insight to MSME practitioners by optimizing the potential of MSMEs through digital marketing to improve the economy of the local community in Bojongpicung Village and Jati Village, Bojongpicung District, Cianjur Regency, West Java. The MSME participants involved in this training totaled 11 people from various industries. This program applied direct training and mentoring methods. The discussion in this article aimed to identify constraints or problems experienced by the MSMEs and evaluate the participants' level of satisfaction with the implementation of the training activities. The results showed that MSME participants have constraints in product marketing, funding, and traditional production equipment. After being trained, MSME participants found several relevant solutions for the development of their MSME businesses through digital marketing. Abstract

Research on the application of the Brain-based Learning (BBL) Model in biology education has the potential to provide a deeper understanding of how the brain processes biological information. The aim of this study is to conduct a systematic literature review of previous studies on the application of the BBL Model in the context of biology education. A systematic literature review method was employed using the Scopus and Google Scholar databases as data sources. Out of the total articles found from 2013, a total of 17 articles met the established criteria and were then carefully analyzed. The analysis revealed several key findings, including (1) The trend of BBL research in biology education peaked in 2019; (2) The distribution of BBL research is still uneven in Indonesia, with the majority in the Java region; (3) Quantitative research methods dominate BBL research; (4) The implementation of BBL is widely relevant across various educational levels, but has not been applied to all levels; (5) The Classification System of Living Organisms is the most commonly chosen topic in BBL research; (6) The implementation of BBL has a positive impact on various aspects of student abilities. Based on these findings, BBL holds promise in supporting biology education. However, further research is needed to explore the BBL Model in a broader and more diverse context. Such research can delve deeper into various research methods, research subjects, and learning topics. Thus, more innovative and adaptive learning practices can be developed through a more comprehensive understanding of the potential of BBL in biology education.

Abstract

In this digital era, data and information in biology are increasingly presented in quantitative form that must be processed and interpreted. To deal with this, students' numeracy literacy becomes essential to train. This study aims to reveal an increase in students' numeracy literacy by implementing the brain-based learning model. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent group design. The sample consisted of 28 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class who had been selected by random sampling. The instruments used were question sheets with various types, such as the Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) questions. The findings of this study indicate that the experimental class has a higher N-Gain Score, which is 0.71 with high criteria, while in the control class, it is 0.60 with a moderate category. The better N-Gain Score can also be seen from each numeracy literacy indicator's analysis. This indicates that the brain-based learning model improves students' numeracy literacy more effectively. Based on these findings, further research can conduct a long-term study of applying the brain-based learning model to students' numeracy literacy to understand the sustainability of the improvements.

Abstract

In the digital era, data and information in biological sciences are increasingly presented in quantitative forms that require processing and analysis, making it essential to train students in numeracy literacy. This study aims to see changes in students' biological mathematical attitudes through the application of the Brain Based Learning Model combined with numeracy literacy tasks. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent group design. The research sample consisted of 28 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class who were selected randomly. The instrument used was a biological mathematical attitude questionnaire with 15 statements on a Likert scale. The results showed that the N-Gain score for students' biological mathematical attitudes was higher in the experimental class with a medium category of 0,51, while in the control class it was in the low category with a score of 0,29. This shows that the Brain Based Learning model is more effective in increasing students' positive attitudes towards the integration of mathematics in biology learning. Based on the results of this study, teachers are expected to consider using the Brain Based Learning Model as a potential alternative learning model, especially in supporting the implementation of the independent curriculum. In addition, it is hoped that other researchers can explore the potential of the Brain Based Learning Model on broader biology topics and other levels of education to expand its positive impact.
