Abstract

STEM education has now become a concern for researcher of education to be considered as a highly demanding learning. In Southeast Asia, Indonesia is one of the largest countries that has a lot of human resources that need to be improved in skills and abilities. This study aims to examine whether the urgency of STEM learning in Indonesia by looking at 21st century skills, this study uses content analysis methods, including examining the best implementation of STEM education aimed at teachers by investigating technical design skills training for teachers and students and also reviewed the literature from previous research from 1990 to 2016 which focused on developing STEM learning education throughout the world. In this study it was found that STEM education showed very significant developments throughout the world and had a major impact in efforts to improve students' understanding of concepts, literacy and creativity. From various research sources have provided evidence that implementation in implementing STEM Education to teachers. STEM is an application of daily life that is close and increases students' awareness of the environment.

Language is considered to be a system of communicating with other people using sounds, symbols and words in expressing a meaning, idea or thought. Speaking is the action of convey information or expressing the idea and feelings in spoken English. This research explained about analysis the anxiety students’ speaking in English at the eleventh grade of Vocational High School Bina Insan Mandiri Lebak in the academic year of 2023/2024. In this research, the researcher use qualitative approach while the research method will use descriptive qualitative method. The researcher would carry out the steps of the research, namely the process of data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions and verification. There were three types of student anxiety in speaking English at the Eleventh Grade of Vocational High School Bina Insan Mandiri Banjarsari Lebak, they are State Anxiety, when the students feel panic and may stress when they want to speak in English, Trait Anxiety, when the students feel nervous when they do not understand the teacher explanation, and Specific-situation Anxiety, when the students should do examination about speaking. There were three factors caused the students anxiety in speaking English at the Eleventh Grade of Vocational High School Bina Insan Mandiri Banjarsari Lebak, they are communication apprehension, where the students could not speak English because they have little experience with English and do not always practice English, test anxiety, where the students feel anxious because they have to do the test that the teacher assigns to them, and fear of negative evaluation when the student are afraid of being judged negatively by their teachers and of being mocked by their classmates if they make mistakes when speaking English.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Education plays a critical role in developing the potential of each individual, and the quality of the teaching and learning process is vital for the success of the education undertaken by students. Innovative learning designs that meet student needs are required. Genetic material in biology, which is complex and conceptual, requires deep understanding. Therefore, it is important for educators to use teaching strategies that allow students to better understand genetic concepts. The purpose of this study is to evaluate genetic teaching strategies including curriculum analysis, approaches, and the application of various models, methods, and media in learning. This research method is qualitative with a descriptive approach, aiming to describe current genetic teaching practices, including the use of TPACK by teachers. Data was collected through literature study with stages such as data collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and conclusion with descriptive qualitative data analysis. The analysis results were verified by experts. The findings show that teachers have implemented various approaches, models, methods, and learning media. The success of the learning process greatly depends on effective teacher planning so that students can clearly understand the material. These findings provide useful information for teachers to implement TPACK in genetics learning. Keywords: TPACK, Content Representation, Genetic ABSTRAK. Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) that is able to detect the emotions of prospective teacher during genetics lectures. Using AI technology, this system can evaluate the cognitive load of students in real-time through facial expression analysis. The method used involves collecting data from lecture sessions, which are then analyzed using machine learning algorithms to identify cognitive load levels. The results of the study show that this learning media is able to identify students' emotions. This learning media is equipped with accurate emotion detection features, interactive learning materials, and an informative dashboard to monitor student learning progress. The implementation of this technology is expected to improve the quality of learning and help students achieve a better understanding of genetics courses.

Abstract

Laboratory activities have the potential to enhance engagement through observation, experimentation, and active involvement. This study focuses on developing a solar cell experiment for junior high school students. The procedures involve measuring the dominant wavelength across various visible light spectrum and exploring the relationship between wavelength and the voltage and current output from a solar cell. The results indicate a negative correlation between wavelength and voltage/current. The highest recorded voltage and current, 1.75 V and 13.9 μA, respectively, were obtained at a wavelength of 400 nm. In contrast, the light with the highest wavelength, 650 nm, yielded the lowest recorded voltage and current, which were 1.43 V and 8.7 μA. Such laboratory activities can serve as valuable tools for teachers to impart the concept of wavelength and its real-world applications to students without the need for expensive or advance tools.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to assist science teachers in carrying out experiments in science classes, particularly physics classes, to ascertain the optimal light intensity and efficiency of various lamp types made of inexpensive materials that are related to scientific concepts. The purpose of this study was to develop a practical learning technique based on experiments to measure the lamp’s energy efficiency and light intensity. Three different types of bulbs were used in this research experiment: CFL, LED, and incandescent. Students select a lamp after the experiment based on observations of light intensity and calculations of the lamp’s efficiency using a solar power meter and efficiency equation. The light intensity of the LED lamp shows the highest value with 18,66W/m2 rather than Compact Fluorescent lamp with 15,05% and incandescent lamp with 0,02%. While the efficiency of the LED lamp is 52,6%, the CFL is 26,89%, and the incandescent lamp is 11,26% Novelty: There is not a lot of study on the measurement of light intensity and the calculation of lamp efficiency using inexpensive materials for science-related student experiments.
