Abstract

Saat ini, informasi tentang respon fisiologis biota akuatik yang hidup di perairan Teluk Kupang masih sangat minim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi, menghitung intensitas dan prevalensi parasit serta menganalisis kerusakan organ pada kerapu bebek yang diambil dari perairan Teluk Kupang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama bulan Juli 2023. Sampel ikan yang digunakan adalah ikan kerapu hidup yang ditangkap oleh nelayan, selanjutnya Ikan dibawa ke laboratorium untuk diamati gejala klinis morfologinya yang meliputi bentuk, kondisi tubuh ikan, warna, sirip, sisik dan insang. Pengamatan ektoparasit dilakukan pada lendir tubuh, sirip dan insang, sedangkan endoparasit diambil pada usus ikan. Preparasi histologi dilakukan pada organ insang dan usus ikan. Analisis histopatologi dilakukan dengan pengamatan secara mikroskopik pada masing-masing organ selanjutnya dibandingkan dengan gambaran histopatologi yang didapatkan dari referensi jurnal yang relevan yang mencakup struktur jaringan mikroskopik dari organ serta kerusakannya. Pada penelitian ini tidak ditemukan adanya gejala klinis morfologi, namun pada pengamatan ektoparasit dan endoparasit ditemukan parasit yang menginfestasi yaitu Anisakis sp. Intensitas ektoparasit Anisakis sp 0,67 ind/ekor yang artinya infeksi sangat rendah dengan nilai prevalensi 57,14% yang termasuk infeksi sangat sering. Nilai intensitas endoparasit sebesar 1 ind/ekor yang artinya infeksi rendah dan prevalensi 85,71% yang termasuk infeksi serangan sedang. Beberapa kerusakan jaringan insang yang ditemukan antara lain edema lamela primer dan sekunder, proliferasi sel mukus, clubbing, fusi lamela primer dan sekunder, adanya vakuola, telangiektasis, hiperplasia lamela sekunder, degenerasi lamela sekunder, lisis, kemunculan protozoa dan parasit. Sedangkan kerusakan pada usus yaitu nekrosis, edema, erosi vili, perlemakan, hemoragi, lisis, adanya vakuola dan kemunculan parasit dan protozoa.   Currently, the information about physiological responses of aquatic biota in Kupang Bay is still very minimal. This research aims to identify, calculate the intensity and prevalence of parasites and organ damage analyzed in Barramundi Cod Grouper taken from Kupang Bay. This research was carried out during July 2023. The sample of fishes caught by fisherman and taken to the laboratory to be observed for clinical morphological symptoms, such us shape, fish’s body, color, fins, scales and gills. Ectoparasites were observed in the body mucus, fins and gills, while endoparasites in the intestines. Histological preparastions were carried out on the gills and intestines. Histopathological analysis were carried out by microscopic observation of each organ and then compared with the image obtained from relevant journal references which includes the microscopic tissue structure and its damages. In this study, no morphological clinical symptoms were found, however, when observing ectoparasites and endoparasites, parasities was found, namely Anisakis sp. The intensity of the Anisakis sp ectoparasites is 0.67 ind/tail (very low infection) with a prevalence of 57.14% (very frequent attack). The endoparasites intensity is 1 ind/tail (low infection) and a prevalence of 85.71%, (moderate attack). Some of the gill tissue damage found includes primary and secondary lamella edema, mucus cell proliferation, clubbing, primary and secondary lamella fusion, vacuoles, telangiectasis, secondary lamella hyperplasia, secondary lamella degeneration, lysis, the appearance of protozoa and parasities. Meanwhile, the intestines includes necrosis, edema, villous erosion, fatty, hemorrhage, lysis, the presence of vacuoles and the appearance of parasites and protozoa.

Abstract

This research aims to determine damage to gill and liver tissue through histopathological analysis and the hematological picture of catfish seeds produced by farmers in Airnona, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara. A total of 100 fish seeds were taken randomly from the hatchery pond. Hematological observations are carried out by making blood smears, while histopathological observations are carried out by making histology preparations. Hematological and histopathological observations were carried out using a microscope at 140-800X magnification. The histopathological analysis of the gills showed damage, including mucus cell proliferation, epithelial lifting, edema, necrosis, vacuoles, and parasitic investment. The liver shows damage in vacuoles, hemosiderin, congestion, the presence of Melano Macrophage Center (MMC), sinuses, fatty degeneration, and hemorrhage. Abnormalities in blood cells observed in blood smears of fish seeds include spherocytes, lacerated membranes, blebbed nuclei, lysis, and necrosis.

Abstract

Praktik Kerja Lapang (PKL) mengenai teknik pembenihan ikan nila Sultana telah dilaksanakan di Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Balai Benih Ikan Perikanan Budidaya Air Tawar Desa Jatiguwi, Jawa Timur. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui teknik pembenihan ikan nila Sultana secara konvensional serta menghitung persentase kelulushidupan benih yang dihasilkan. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi observasi partisipatif, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Proses pembenihan meliputi pemeliharaan dan seleksi induk, pemijahan alami, pemanenan larva, serta pendederan. Dari total 130.000 larva yang dipanen, diperoleh 112.000 ekor benih dengan tingkat kelulushidupan mencapai 86,15%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pembenihan ikan nila Sultana secara konvensional di UPT Desa Jatiguwi memiliki tingkat keberhasilan yang baik dan dapat dijadikan dasar pengembangan budidaya berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Budidaya ikan Nila dengan metode kolam terpal dapat memberi penguasaan skill bagi pembudidaya pemula, menambah penghasilan, serta bisa memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan kosong untuk kegiatan ekonomis produktif. Hal ini sesuai dengan permasalahan yang ada di SMAN 10 Kupang yaitu banyaknya jumlah lulusan yang tidak mampu melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang perguruan tinggi disebabkan faktor ekonomi yang kurang mendukung. Selain itu kondisi lahan SMAN 10 Kupang juga masih sangat luas tetapi belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Berdasarkan fakta – fakta tersebut dirasa perlu untuk membekali para siswa mengenai teknik budidaya ikan Nila di kolam terpal. Diharapkan setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini, para siswa mampu melakukan kegiatan budidaya ikan Nila secara mandiri sehingga bisa menjadi sumber pendapatan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini berlangsung dari bulan Juli – September 2023, berlokasi di SMAN 10 Kupang , Keluarahan Fatukoa, Kecamatan Maulafa, Kota Kupang, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Sasarannya meliputi 35 orang siswa-siswi yang merupakan perwakilan dari masing – masing kelas, mulai dari kelas 10-12. Tahapan kegitan meliputi : 1) Tahap Perencanaan (survei lokasi, koordinasi, penentuan titik lokasi, persiapan alat dan bahan), 2) Tahap Pelaksanaan (Pembuatan kolam terpal dan penyuluhan), dan 3) Tahap Monitoring dan Evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini berupa berdirinya 2 unit kolam terpal bundar di lahan SMAN 10 Kupang. Pada kolam tersebut ditebar 500 benih ikan Nila yang merupakan hasil pembenihan di hatchery prodi TBP, Jurusan Perikanan dan Kelautan, Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Kupang. Selain itu tim pelaksana juga sukses melakukan penyuluhan mengenai manajemen pemberian pakan, manajemen kualitas air, monitoring hama dan penyakit, serta pemanenan.

Abstract

Seaweed plays an important role in the implementation of the Blue Economy concept in Indonesia, as it not only serves as a commodity that supports the economy of coastal communities, but also has the potential to enhance national food security, mitigate the impacts of climate change, and promote sustainable marine resource management practices. The waters of Tesabela Village represent one of the potential areas that can be developed as a seaweed aquaculture center in Kupang Regency. The purpose of this research is to generate a site suitability map for seaweed cultivation in the marine area of Tesabela Village, Kupang Regency. Sampling points were determined using purposeful random sampling, but within the entire area. A total of six sample points were selected. Sample points one through six represent the waters of Tesabela Village. Secondary data was also collected to provide additional information for the geographic information system. The analysis showed that three stations were categorized as highly suitable (S1): stations 4, 5, and 6, with a total area of ​​96.57 ha. Stations 1, 2, and 3 were categorized as suitable (S2), or acceptable, with an area of ​​80.48 ha. These factors have the potential to reduce productivity, but farmers can generally address them through technical adjustments. Furthermore, seaweed farmers still need more support from the government and the private sector to maintain the sustainability of their farming operations and to conduct further research.

Abstract

This study conducts a systematic literature review to examine coastal environmental degradation in Kupang City between 2018 and 2024, focusing on shoreline erosion, mangrove deforestation, sedimentation, water quality decline, and biodiversity loss. The objective is to evaluate the extent of degradation and analyze how current conservation policies align with scientific findings. Using the PRISMA 2020 framework, the review incorporates 25 peer-reviewed articles and official reports published between 2018 and 2024. The analysis highlights that major degradation indicators are concentrated in highly developed coastal zones such as Bolok, Lasiana, and Oesapa. Geospatial assessments using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS), NDVI, and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) revealed substantial shoreline retreat, mangrove loss exceeding 35%, and seasonal spikes in turbidity levels. Despite the availability of national and regional conservation frameworks, their implementation remains fragmented due to weak coordination, lack of adaptive planning, and limited use of scientific data. Community-based conservation efforts have demonstrated localized success but remain outside formal policy mechanisms. The study proposes an adaptive governance framework that integrates big data, remote sensing, socio-economic mapping, and participatory planning to strengthen resilience. Additionally, it suggests leveraging blue economy strategies, enhancing institutional capacity, and embedding conservation into economic policy as pathways toward sustainable coastal management. This research contributes an evidence-based model for improving conservation outcomes in Kupang and similar urban coastal settings across Indonesia.
