Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat dalam upaya pengenalan manufaktur komposit berpengisi bahan alam sebagai produk kerajinan ibu rumah tangga di Perumahan Metro Cendana, RT 01 dan 02, Kelurahan Kebondalem, Kecamatan Purwakarta, Banten telah dilakukan. Produk yang dibuat adalah gantungan kunci terbuat dari resin epoksi sebagai matriks dan daun/bunga/ranting kering sebagai filler/pengisi sebagai salah satu cara untuk mengurangi limbah alam. Rasio resin epoksi dengan katalis adalah 2:1. Penggunaan daun/bunga yang baru dipetik mengakibatkan warna daun/bunga akan menjadi pudar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan material komposit melalui demonstrasi pembuatan gantungan kunci berbahan komposit dan mengisi kuesioner untuk evaluasi terhadap kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan. Usia responden bervariasi dari 20 – diatas 60 tahun. Responden sebanyak 100% menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini sangat menginspirasi dan bermanfaat serta terdapat 23% responden berminat menjadikan kerajinan gantungan kunci ini sebagai salah satu usaha bisnis karena belum adanya modal untuk memulai usaha ini secara mandiri. Community service activities to introduce composite manufacturing filled with natural materials as craft products for homemakers in Metro Cendana Housing, RT 01 and 02, Kebondalem Village, Purwakarta District, Banten, have been carried out. The product is a key chain made from epoxy resin as a matrix and dried leaves/flowers/twigs as a filler to reduce natural waste. The ratio of epoxy resin to catalyst is 2:1. Using freshly picked leaves/flowers will result in the color of the leaves/flowers fading. This service activity aims to introduce composite materials through a demonstration of making key chains from composite materials and filling out a questionnaire to evaluate the actions that have been carried out. Respondents' ages varied from 20 – over 60 years. 100% of respondents stated that this activity was very inspiring and helpful, and 23% were interested in making this key chain craft a business venture because there was no capital to start this business independently.

Abstract

Cilegon is one of the cities in Banten. The large number of factories in Cilegon City makes this city known as an industrial city. Several industrial activities, ranging from primary to supporting activities, require a lot of labor. The need for labor in Cilegon, especially in the manufacturing sector, is increasing. To increase the competitiveness of local communities in obtaining more excellent employment opportunities, young people of productive age, especially, need to be equipped with skills that support industrial activities. One of these skills is metal welding. To introduce this skill, a welding training program was conducted for young people in Cilegon City. The methods used include lectures, demonstrations, and welding practice. The material provided during the training consists of an introduction to welding equipment, essential steps in the welding process, K3 in the welding industry, and home industry planning in the field of metal welding. This training successfully attracted several young people from Grogol and Purwakarta sub-districts. After this training, they can improve their skills, expand job opportunities, and even become self-employed in welding. Cilegon adalah salah satu kota di Banten. Banyaknya pabrik-pabrik di Kota Cilegon membuat kota ini disebut sebagai kota industri. Beberapa kegiatan industri mulai dari kegiatan utama hingga kegiatan pendukung membutuhkan banyak tenaga kerja. Kebutuhan tenaga kerja di kota Cilegon terutama di bidang manufaktur meningkat. Untuk meningkatkan daya saing masyarakat lokal dalam mendapatkan peluang kerja yang lebih besar, khusus para pemuda usia produktif, perlu dibekali keahlian yang menunjang kegiatan industri tersebut. Salah satu keahlian tersebut adalah pengelasan logam. Dalam rangka mengenalkan keahlian ini maka dilaksanakan kegiatan program pelatihan pengelasan bagi para pemuda di Kota Cilegon. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi dan praktek pengelasan. Materi yang diberikan selama pelatihan meliputi pengenalan peralatan pengelasan, langkah-langkah dasar proses pengelasan, K3 pada industri pengelasan dan perencanaan industri rumahan di bidang pengelasan logam. Pelatihan ini berhasil menjaring beberapa pemuda dari kecamatan Grogol dan Purwakarta, Diharapkan setelah pelatihan ini dapat meningkatkan keahlian, memperluas peluang kerja bahkan dapat berwiraswasta di bidang pengelasan.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to educate elementary school students in Serang City, especially at SDN Kewunen, about hand hygiene's importance in preventing COVID-19. The training involved making a simple automatic soap dispenser from used items such as plastic bottles and injections. With a participatory method, students were directly involved, assisted by visual guides in the form of leaflets, posters, and banners. As a result, most students succeeded in making the tools independently at home with the support of their parents and understood the importance of hand hygiene. Monitoring through surveys and teacher testimonials showed a positive response. This program improves students' skills in maintaining cleanliness and fosters environmental awareness through using used goods. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan mengedukasi siswa SD di Kota Serang, khususnya di SDN Kewunen, tentang pentingnya kebersihan tangan sebagai pencegahan COVID-19. Pelatihan melibatkan pembuatan tempat sabun otomatis sederhana dari barang bekas seperti botol plastik dan suntikan bekas. Dengan metode partisipatif, siswa dilibatkan langsung, dibantu panduan visual berupa leaflet, poster, dan spanduk. Hasilnya, mayoritas siswa berhasil membuat alat secara mandiri di rumah dengan dukungan orang tua dan memahami pentingnya kebersihan tangan. Monitoring melalui survei dan testimoni guru menunjukkan respon positif. Program ini meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam menjaga kebersihan dan menumbuhkan kesadaran lingkungan melalui pemanfaatan barang bekas.
