Abstract

Background: Health problems are still a major issue for the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD). Knowledge of health, personal hygiene, trust with migrants, desire to improve themselves and economic ability are still obstacles to healthy living. Efforts have been made but have not shown maximum results.  Objectives: The research aims to find strategies for empowerment approaches to improve healthy behavior for SAD along the Central Cross of Sumatera. This research is expected to produce an empowerment strategy to improve health and enable people to behave healthily.  Methods:  The research design for this study is qualitative, with 43 informants consisting of the Public Health Department, Public Health Center, tumenggung, jenang, Pundi Sumatra NGOs, and SAD residents in four residential areas of the research location. Data collection was done using in-depth interviews and observations. The research locations are in Sarolangun District, Merangin, and Bungo Jambi District. Results: Health empowerment research conducted by the Health Service and Community Health Centers has been carried out with outreach activities, free treatment, and reproductive health, but has not shown success because no special SAD assistants are living in the settlement to provide examples of the healthy behavior they expect. Empowerment is carried out by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with a strategy of providing special workers as companions in residential locations so that they can meet the needs of the community along with other stakeholders and can increase community trust so that it is easier for community mobilizers to accept change.  Conclusion: The strategy of the health empowerment approach is to prepare a companion for each group who lives with them and understands sufficient health knowledge. Tumenggung's role as a mobilizer is becoming a key figure in the SAD community movement.

Abstract

Maritime engineering education confronts unprecedented technological disruption requiring fundamental reconceptualization of how professional expertise transforms into pedagogical innovation. This investigation penetrates the phenomenological intersection where operational maritime knowledge encounters structured academic environments, revealing sophisticated dynamics that transcend conventional technology transfer paradigms. Through qualitative exploration of eight strategically selected participants—maritime entrepreneurs with engineering foundations and academic practitioners specializing in maritime science—this research unveils remarkable convergence around technological enhancement imperatives. Stakeholders demonstrate 92% alignment regarding current educational limitations while identifying substantial improvement trajectories across critical competency domains. The investigation reveals dramatic enhancement potential: environmental awareness competencies advance 46%, problem-solving integration capabilities improve 39% through systematic technological integration approaches. Simultaneously, concerning misalignment emerges between industry technological demands and educational preparedness, with gaps reaching 37% in predictive maintenance and 35% in environmental compliance domains. This research establishes innovative frameworks for understanding professional-academic knowledge symbiosis while creating practical pathways for sustainable technological enhancement that honors both operational expertise and educational rigor within contemporary maritime engineering contexts.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with anemia among pregnant women in the working area of Kapau Public Health Center, Agam Regency, Indonesia, in 2022. The study employed a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 126 third-trimester pregnant women were selected using simple random sampling from the population of pregnant women attending antenatal care services. Data were collected through structured questionnaires assessing knowledge, educational level, family income, and adherence to iron (Fe) tablet consumption, while anemia status was determined based on hemoglobin levels recorded in maternal health books. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The findings revealed significant associations between maternal knowledge and anemia incidence (p < 0.05), as well as between adherence to Fe tablet consumption and anemia incidence (p < 0.05). In contrast, educational level and family income were not significantly associated with anemia among pregnant women (p > 0.05). These results indicate that behavioral factors, particularly knowledge and compliance with iron supplementation, play a more important role in preventing anemia than sociodemographic factors. In conclusion, improving maternal knowledge and strengthening adherence to iron tablet consumption are essential strategies to reduce anemia among pregnant women. Health promotion and continuous monitoring by healthcare providers are recommended to improve maternal health outcomes.

Abstract

The implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in schools, specifically the habit of Handwashing with Soap (CTPS), is still not optimal. At SDN 040/IV Jambi City, CTPS indicators were not met due to limited facilities and a lack of students' knowledge and attitudes. This low understanding increases the risk of infectious diseases such as diarrhea and ARI. Audiovisual-based health education was chosen for its effectiveness in combining sound and visual elements attractive to school-age children. This study aims to determine the effect of audiovisual-based health education on CTPS knowledge and attitudes among students at SDN 040/IV Jambi City.
