Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian penapisan bakteri penghasil antimikroba pada pasir Pantai Sialang Buah Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang bedagai dalam menghambat beberapa mikroba patogen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat isolat penghasil antimikroba, untuk mengetahui aktivitas antimikroba dari isolat bakteri terhadap mikroba patogen dan melihat bagaimana karakterisasi bakteri pada pasir Pantai Sialang Buah Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober sampai Desember 2020 di Pantai Sialang Buah Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pengujian biokimia sederhana, pengujian fisiologis serta pengujian aktivitas antimikroba. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperolehi 4 isolat sebagai penghasil antimikroba, dengan nama isolat Sb1a (1,70 mm), Sb1b (1,23 mm), Sb2a (0,63 mm), dan Sb4a (0,93 mm). Karakterisasi bakteri isolat pasir Pantai Sialang Buah Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai pada isolat Sb1a, Sb1b, dan Sb4a ialah bakteri gram positif, dan Sb2a ialah bakteri gram negatif. Semua isolat berbentuk Basil, dapat menghasilkan enzim katalase, menggunakan sitrat sebagai satu-satunya karbon dan energi, bergerak serta dapat memfermentasikan laktosa dan sukrosa. Research has been done to screen for antimicrobial-producing bacteria on the sand of Sialang Buah Beach, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency in inhibiting several pathogenic microbes. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there were antimicrobial-producing isolates, to determine the antimicrobial activity of bacterial isolates against microbial pathogens and to see how the characterization of bacteria in the sand of Sialang Buah Beach, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. This research was conducted from October to December 2020 at Sialang Buah Beach, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. This research was conducted by simple biochemical testing, physiological testing and antimicrobial activity testing. The results of this study obtained 4 isolates as producers of antimicrobials, with the names of isolates Sb1a (1.70 mm), Sb1b (1.23 mm), Sb2a (0.63 mm), and Sb4a (0.93 mm). Bacterial characterization of sand isolates from Sialang Buah Beach, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, on isolates Sb1a, Sb1b, and Sb4a were gram-positive bacteria, and Sb2a were gram-negative bacteria. All isolates are bacilli, can produce catalase enzyme, use citrate as the only carbon and energy, are mobile and can ferment lactose and sucrose.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Android pada materi keanekaragaman hayati untuk siswa SMA kelas X MIPA. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 14 Medan pada Juni 2021 sampai dengan Januari 2022. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu research and development (R&D) model Borg&Gall. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar angket, untuk ahli media, ahli materi, ahli bahasa, guru dan siswa. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian yaitu siswa kelas kelas X MIPA 1 dan 2 SMAN 14 Medan. Uji coba dilakukan dalam kelompok kecil kepada 20 siswa dan uji coba kelompok besar kepada 40 siswa untuk mengetahui respons penilaian media melalui lembar intrumen angket respons. Hasil validasi media secara keseluruhan aspek diperoleh persentase rata-rata 88% dengan kategori layak. Hasil validasi ahli media, ahli materi, dan ahli bahasa diperoleh rata-rata 94%, 86%, dan 87% dengan kategori layak. Hasil respons penilaian guru sebesar 88% dengan kategori layak, respons penilaian peserta didik pada uji coba kelompok kecil dan besar dengan persentase rata-rata sebesar 86 dan 87% dengan kategori layak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Android pada materi keanekaragaman hayati yang telah dikembangkan layak dipakai peserta didik dan guru dalam proses pembelajaran biologi.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the influence of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model  on students activities and learning outcomes of class XI at Nurul Hakim Modern Islamic Boarding School. The type of this research is a Quasy Experiment. The population in this study was all students of class XI IPA of Nurul Hakim Modern Boarding School which amounted to 60  students. The sample used was class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class of 30 students and class XI IPA 2 as a control class of 30 students. Research instruments used to find out student learning activities are using a student learning activity questionnaire and for student learning outcomes was use multiple choices test of 25 questions. Data analysis was done using hypothesis tests. The percentage of students' learning activities in the experimental class was 83.70% which was higher than the learning activities of the control class students, which was 51.50%. The average learning outcome in the experimental class model was 82.00  and in the control class was 78.00. Based on the results of the analysis of thitung > ttabel which is 3.06 > 2.00, which means that Ha is accepted, and Ho is rejected. So, it could be concluded that there is an influence of student learning activities and outcomes using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning  model.

Abstract

Kurangnya keaktifan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran dapat menjadikan peserta didik tidak mengerti, dan kehilangan daya tarik dan tidak diminati oleh siswa yang pada akhirnya akan berdampak terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Adapun salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan oleh guru pada saat berlangsungnya proses pembelajaran di masa pandemi sekarang ini yaitu dengan menggunakan media pemberian kuis berupa google form. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pemberian kuis dengan google form dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran biologi. Waktu penelitian ini berlangsung pada bulan februari-april 2022. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan pretest posttest nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini memiliki sampel yang diperoleh dari teknik purposive sampling dan sampel yang didapat kelas X MIPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Efektivitas pemberian kuis menggunakan aplikasi google form ditunjukkan dengan perbedaan rata-rata n-Gain hasil belajar siswa yang sangat signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas control yaitu kelas eksperimen sebesar 7.02 berkategori “tinggi” dan kelas control sebesar i2.02 berkategori”rendah”. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pemberian kuis menggunakan aplikasi google form efektif dan memiliki ukuran pengaruh yang cukup besar untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran biologi

Abstract

With the development of science and technology today, the learning process is not enough just to utilize learning resources and simple learning media. One way to develop learning media using technology is to develop animated learning video media. This research aims to develop animated videos based on Animaker applications, especially in Biology learning about the human digestive system. This research was conducted at Darul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Deli Serdang with a sample of high school class XI students. This research uses the R&D (Research & Development) method with the development of the 4D model. The development of Animaker application-based animated videos on digestive system material shows very good results with media validation results of 98.33%, material expert validation results of 90%, practitioner expert validation results of 91.46%, limited trial results with a value of 89.45% and a broad trial with a value of 88.06% obtained very valid results so that they meet the criteria very feasible to be used as learning media. Animaker application-based animated video on human digestive system material can provide new experiences, make students enthusiastic in learning, and can attract student attention and make the learning process more enjoyable.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a product development of student worksheets (LKPD) based on biology higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in class X fungi that are valid and practical. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4-D development model: the definition stage, the design stage, the development stage, and the dissemination stage. The validation of the worksheets was carried out by material experts and media experts by providing an assessment questionnaire for the feasibility test of the worksheets. The results of the validation of the material experts get a percentage of 72.61% with appropriate criteria with the total validation percentage in the content feasibility aspect of 71.11% with appropriate criteria, then in the presentation feasibility aspect of 73.33% with appropriate criteria, in the learning presentation aspect, it is 80% with eligible criteria and linguistic aspects of 78% with appropriate criteria. The media expert validation gets a percentage of 80% with the validation percentage on the LKPD size indicator getting a percentage of 80%, then the cover design indicator getting a percentage of 80%, and the module content design indicator getting a percentage of 80%. The total number of teacher response assessments as a whole is a percentage of 89.499% with very decent criteria. the results of the trial for students got 86.07% with very decent criteria (very interesting) with aspects of interest and benefits reaching a percentage of 83.54%, material aspects reaching a percentage of 82.57%, and linguistic aspects reaching a percentage of 90.10 %. LKPD is declared feasible and ready to be used as teaching materials in learning.

Abstract

Sodium benzoate contains dangerous substances including the chemicals benzene, benzoic acid and sodium hydroxide. As a result of these dangerous contents, it can affect blood components such as erythrocytes, hemoglobin, leukocytes and platelets. The effects caused by food preservatives can be prevented by living a healthy lifestyle and using herbal plants as medicinal therapy. One of them is by using natural ingredients, namely keji shard leaves. This study aims to determine keji beling leaf extract on the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, leukocytes and platelets due to food preservatives. The stages in this research include phytochemical screening, observing the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, leukocytes and platelets. Data analysis used one way ANOVA and Duncan's test. The results of the study showed that administration of sodium benzoate had an effect on increasing the number of erythrocytes 24.35 ± 0.62, hemoglobin 68.0 ± 2.5, leukocytes 21.80 ± 1.68 and platelets 591.7.8 ± 10.5. Meanwhile, administration of keji beling leaf extract can reduce the number of erythrocytes by 13.00 ± 0.18b, hemoglobin by 26.2 ± 2.2b, leukocytes by 13.00 ± 0.74b and platelets by 353.0 ± 09.4b. The optimal dose of keji beling leaf extract to reduce the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, leukocytes and platelets is a dose of 500 mg/kg BW

Abstract

Drinking water is a very important need for the body. Drinking water can be treated from borehole water sources which are not necessarily free from harmful chemical and microbiological substances such as pH and manganese. The aim of this research is to improve the quality of drinking water from Borehole water. The filter media used is treated natural zeolite type TNZ RC. 42, Activated carbon granular cartridge, and 1 and 3 µm Melt Blown Filter Cartridge. The testing parameter is chemical test (pH and Mn) and microbiology test (total coliform). The increment in pH levels from the research data were obtained sample A of 7,01, sample B of 7,08, sample C of 7,05 and sample D of 7,24, while the decrease in Mn levels from the research data were obtained sample A of 0,387 mg/L, sample B of 0,429 mg/L, sample C of 0,442 mg/L and sample D of 0,501 mg/L. In total coliform sample A, B, C and D of 0 CFU/100 mL, whose value may not exceed the maximum allowed standard of PERMENKES RI No.492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010.

Abstract

Animal health is an absolute requirement to produce optimum productivity. One of the problems faced by cattle farmers is endoparasite attacks that can cause cows to become thin, have no appetite, and lower selling prices. This study aims to determine the types of worm and protozoa endoparasites, the degree of infection, the prevalence and intensity of endoparasitic attacks on cow feces that are raised extensively and intensively in Setia Janji District, Asahan Regency. The methods used for the identification of the type of endoparasite are sedimentation and flotation. While the method used for the calculation of eggs / oocysts per gram of feces uses Mc. Master. From 60 fecal samples examined, 12 species of worms were found, namely Paramphistomum sp., Fasciola sp., Dicrocoelium sp., Oesophagostomum sp., Trichostrongylus sp., Capillaria sp., Haemonchus sp., Cooperia sp., Ascaris sp., Bunostomum sp., Trichuris sp., Strongyloides sp., and 2 protozoa namely Buxtonella sp., and Eimeria sp.

Abstract

Daging sebagai asal protein hewani semakin dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat. Gabus (Channa striata) adalah ikan air tawar dengan albumin tinggi. Kualitas fisik dan kimia daging itik Peking (Anas platyrhynchos domestica L.) dipengaruhi oleh pemberian makanan tambahan tepung ikan gabus. Balai Standardisasi dan Pelayanan Jasa Industri Medan serta Laboratorium Inseminasi Buatan menjadi lokasi penelitian ini. Pada penelitian ini digunakan 25 itik peking DOD (Anas platyrhynchos domestica L.). Menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), yang memiliki 5 perlakuan dan 6 kali pengulangan. Penelitian ini mengkaji parameter pH, daya ikat air, susut mentah, susut masak, kadar air, kadar lemak, dan kadar protein. Pakan perlakuan termasuk dari P0 (pakan perlakuan tanpa pakan tambahan); P1 (pakan kormesil 980 gram, tepung ikan gabus 20 gram); P2 (pakan kormesil 960 gram, tepung gabus 40 gram); P3 (pakan kormesil 940 gram, tepung ikan gabus 60 gram); dan P4 (pakan kormesil 920 gram, tepung ikan gabus 80 gram). Oneway ANOVA digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa pemberian makanan tambahan tepung ikan gabus berdampak nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pH daging itik peking 0,026 dengan rata-rata 6,0%; dampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap daya ikat air 0,001 dengan rata-rata 75,96%; tidak ada dampak nyata (P>0,005) terhadap susut mentah 0,574 dengan rata-rata 4,09%; berdampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap penyusutan masakan 0,011 dengan rata-rata 19,37%; berdampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap kadar air 0,003 dengan rata-rata 76,00%; berdampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap kadar lemak 0,000 dengan rata-rata 5,21%; berdampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap kadar protein P<0,005 dengan rata-rata 18,97%.
