Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian penapisan bakteri penghasil antimikroba pada pasir Pantai Sialang Buah Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang bedagai dalam menghambat beberapa mikroba patogen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat isolat penghasil antimikroba, untuk mengetahui aktivitas antimikroba dari isolat bakteri terhadap mikroba patogen dan melihat bagaimana karakterisasi bakteri pada pasir Pantai Sialang Buah Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober sampai Desember 2020 di Pantai Sialang Buah Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pengujian biokimia sederhana, pengujian fisiologis serta pengujian aktivitas antimikroba. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperolehi 4 isolat sebagai penghasil antimikroba, dengan nama isolat Sb1a (1,70 mm), Sb1b (1,23 mm), Sb2a (0,63 mm), dan Sb4a (0,93 mm). Karakterisasi bakteri isolat pasir Pantai Sialang Buah Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai pada isolat Sb1a, Sb1b, dan Sb4a ialah bakteri gram positif, dan Sb2a ialah bakteri gram negatif. Semua isolat berbentuk Basil, dapat menghasilkan enzim katalase, menggunakan sitrat sebagai satu-satunya karbon dan energi, bergerak serta dapat memfermentasikan laktosa dan sukrosa. Research has been done to screen for antimicrobial-producing bacteria on the sand of Sialang Buah Beach, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency in inhibiting several pathogenic microbes. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there were antimicrobial-producing isolates, to determine the antimicrobial activity of bacterial isolates against microbial pathogens and to see how the characterization of bacteria in the sand of Sialang Buah Beach, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. This research was conducted from October to December 2020 at Sialang Buah Beach, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. This research was conducted by simple biochemical testing, physiological testing and antimicrobial activity testing. The results of this study obtained 4 isolates as producers of antimicrobials, with the names of isolates Sb1a (1.70 mm), Sb1b (1.23 mm), Sb2a (0.63 mm), and Sb4a (0.93 mm). Bacterial characterization of sand isolates from Sialang Buah Beach, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, on isolates Sb1a, Sb1b, and Sb4a were gram-positive bacteria, and Sb2a were gram-negative bacteria. All isolates are bacilli, can produce catalase enzyme, use citrate as the only carbon and energy, are mobile and can ferment lactose and sucrose.

Abstract

Tartrazine is a yellow synthetic dye with aromatic and chromo groups. It is widely used in food colouring products and cosmetics, and prolonged consumption can cause kidney damage. Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) is a North Sumatra-native spice plant which reported as antioxidant to repair kidney damage. This study was conducted to determine the effect of ethanol extract of andaliman fruit on the morphology, ureum levels, histology, and glomerular diameter of tartrazine-induced rats. This study employed a completely randomised design (CRD). The ethanol extract of andaliman fruit was dissolved in CMC-Na 1%. Twenty-five rats were divided into 5 groups: negative control (KN), positive control (tartrazine indcution/PN), and treated groups (P1, P2, and P3 induced tartazine and treated with andaliman extract at dose 150 mg/kg BW, 300 mg/kg BW, and 450 mg/kg BW, respectively). After 30 days treatment, kidney damage was observed based on colour and surface of kidneys, kidney index, ureum level, kidney damage score, and glomerular diameter. There are no significant different in the kidney index among groups (p > 0.05). Tartrazin at a dose of 15 mg/kg BW was able to induce the kidney damage as indicated by the increase ureum levels, kidney damage score, and the decrease of glomerular diameter in the negative control. The treatment of andaliman fruit ethanol extract was able to repair the tartazine-induced kidney damage as indicated by the decrease of ureum level and kidney damage score and incread the glomerular diameter.

Abstract

Penggunaan aspirin dengan dosis berlebihan dapat menimbulkan kerusakan pada ginjal dan disfungsi kerja organ ginjal. Daun kenikir (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) mengandung senyawa yang berperan sebagai antiiflamsi dan antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran morfohistologi ginjal tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan setelah diinduksi aspirin dan ekstrak daun kenikir (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.). Penelitian ini menggunakan 25 ekor tikus putih jantan yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, yaitu KN (tanpa perlakuan aspirin + ekstrak daun kenikir), KP(Aspirin 200mg/kgBB selama 10 hari), dan kelompok perlakuan ekstrak daun kenikir dengan dosis bertingkat yaitu P1 (700 mg/kgBB), P2 (800 mg/kgBB), P3 (900 mg/kgBB) selama 14 hari. Data dianalisis dengan Uji One Way ANOVA dan uji Duncan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun kenikir (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) mampu memperbaiki gambaran morfologi dan histopatologi ginjal tikus yang diinduksi aspirin. Ekstrak daun kenikir (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) dengan dosis 900 mg/kgBB adalah dosis yang paling efektif dalam memperbaiki kondisi ginjal.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the influence of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model  on students activities and learning outcomes of class XI at Nurul Hakim Modern Islamic Boarding School. The type of this research is a Quasy Experiment. The population in this study was all students of class XI IPA of Nurul Hakim Modern Boarding School which amounted to 60  students. The sample used was class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class of 30 students and class XI IPA 2 as a control class of 30 students. Research instruments used to find out student learning activities are using a student learning activity questionnaire and for student learning outcomes was use multiple choices test of 25 questions. Data analysis was done using hypothesis tests. The percentage of students' learning activities in the experimental class was 83.70% which was higher than the learning activities of the control class students, which was 51.50%. The average learning outcome in the experimental class model was 82.00  and in the control class was 78.00. Based on the results of the analysis of thitung > ttabel which is 3.06 > 2.00, which means that Ha is accepted, and Ho is rejected. So, it could be concluded that there is an influence of student learning activities and outcomes using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning  model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the suitability of the content of biology textbooks for class XI SMA to the curriculum 2013. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach and uses content/document analysis methods. The subject of this research is a biology textbook for class XI high school with cell material consisting of 3 books to be analyzed by researchers, namely the book publisher Bumi Aksara, the book publisher Erlangga, and the book publisher Grafindo Media Pratama. The research instrument used was an analysis sheet of student books based on the Curriculum 2013 Implementation Assistance Activity Guidelines. The results showed that the level of conformity of the content of biology textbooks based on: (1) SKL aspects in books A and B was 93% (very appropriate), and book C was 87% (very suitable). (2) Aspects of Core Competence for book A are 92% (very suitable), and books B and C are 83% (appropriate). (3) Aspects of Basic Competence for Book A 96% (very suitable), book B 85% (very suitable), book C 89% (very suitable). (4) Aspects of Sufficiency of Material for book A 67% (appropriate), books B and C for 50% (not appropriate). (5) Aspect of Material Depth of Book A 75% (appropriate), book B 68% (appropriate), and Book C 71% (appropriate). (6) Aspects of the Scientific Approach of books A, B, and C by 100% (very appropriate). (7) The authentic assessment aspect of Book A is 57% (quite appropriate), book B is 54% (not suitable) and C is 59% (quite appropriate). The average agreement coefficient of the three books is 0.94% (very good). Abstract

The Belumai River is used for various societal activities as well as a disposal site for residual waste from domestic and industrial activities. One of the fishes in the Belumai River is tinfoil barb (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii). The purpose of this study is to analyze the content of iron (Fe) metals in river water and fish meat. Sampling points or stations for river water and tinfoil barb (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii) used a purposive sampling method. The content of Fe at stations I, II, and III in water also meat of tinfoil barb (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii) was 1,99 mg/L, 2,65 mg/L and 1,99 mg/L while in fish meat it was 27,02 mg/kg, 43,57 mg/kg and 88,42 mg/kg. The results of testing for Fe metal in river water and tinfoil barb’s meat (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii) have passed the water quality standard limits according to PP RI No. 22 of 2021 (0.03 mg/L) and JECFA 2020 (0.8 mg/kg). The BCF grade at station I is 13,57 L/kg, station II is 16,44 L/kg, and III is 44,37 L/kg.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran kooperatif Tipe Make a Match terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VII Mts Daarul Muhsinin Janji Manahan Kawat Labuhan Batu dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Pembelajaran Guided Inquiry terhadap belajar siswa kelas VII Mts Daarul Muhsinin Janji Manhan Kawat Labuhan Batu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatak Quasi Experiment (Eksperimen semu). Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII yang terdiri dari 2 kelas berjumlah 38 siswa. Instrument tes yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dalam bentuk tes pilihan berganda berupa pre-test dan post-test sebanyak 20 soal yang telah divalidkan oleh dosen ahli dan siswa. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan menggunakan t-test. Temuan penelitian ini sebagai berikut: 1) Hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen 1 (VII A) dengan menggunakan Model Kooperatif Tipe make A Match diperoleh nilai rata-rata 79,44 sedangkan kelas Eksperimen 2 (VII B) dengan menggunakan model Guided Inquiry diperoleh nilai rata-rata 80,25. 2) Berdasarkan hasil belajar siswa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model Kooperatif Tipe Make A Match pada proses pembelajaran Guided Inquiry. 3) Nilai hasil belajar siswa Hasil uji t menunjukkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) < 0,000 sehingga Ha diterima.

Abstract

Cytogenetics is a combination of cytology and genetics which studies the genetic system in cells. Cytogenetic analysis is a combination of cytogenetics (about cells) and genetics which explains the relationship between cellular events (especially chromosomes) and genetic phenomena. The objects observed in cytogenetic analysis are chromosomes. Cytogenetic analysis research has been carried out on kailan plants (Brassica oleraceae L.) with the aim of observing the effective time of mitotic division in kailan plants, the stages of mitotic division, the number and shape of chromosomes in kailan plants (Brassica oleraceae L.). The material used in this research is young roots of the kailan plant. The method used in this research is the squash method. The results of cytogenetic analysis research on kailan plants (Brassica oleraceae L.) showed that the effective time of mitotic division was 08.00 WIB and obtained an overview of the stages of prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase, the number of chromosomes of kailan plants (Brassica oleraceae L.) was 2n = 9 pairs of chromosomes or 18 chromosomes, with 5 pairs of metacentric chromosome forms in numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8, and 4 pairs of submetacentric forms in numbers 1, 6, 7, 9.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by impaired insulin secretion in the target organs, especially hepar. Diabetes mellitus can be treated by giving traditional medicine extract of ethanol karanda leaves (Carissa carandas). The purpose of the study was to find out the effectiveness of karanda leaf ethanol extract on the morphology and histopathology of hepar white mouse diabetes mellitus. The study used a Complete Random Design (RAL) with 6 treatments and 4 repeats. The treatment consists of normal control (feed and drink), negative control (120mg/kgBB), positive control (120mg/kgBB+glibenklamid 0.45mg/kgBB, and treatment of karanda leaf ethanol extract at graded doses of 500mg/kgBB, 750mg/kgBB, and 1000mg/kgBB. The manufacture of hepar histology uses the paraffin method with hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. The data was analyzed using the ANOVA test at a 5% confidence level. The results showed significant differences (p0.05) in normal cells, parenkimatous degeneration, hydropic degeneration, and necrosis and had an effect on improving the diameter of the centralist vein. Administration of ethanol extract of karanda leaves dose of 750mg / kgBB has the potential as a hepatoprotector in white rats with diabetes mellitus. Further testing is needed regarding the optimum limit of the dose of karanda leaf ethanol extract (Carissa carandas) and the toxicity test of karanda leaves.

Abstract

Daging sebagai asal protein hewani semakin dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat. Gabus (Channa striata) adalah ikan air tawar dengan albumin tinggi. Kualitas fisik dan kimia daging itik Peking (Anas platyrhynchos domestica L.) dipengaruhi oleh pemberian makanan tambahan tepung ikan gabus. Balai Standardisasi dan Pelayanan Jasa Industri Medan serta Laboratorium Inseminasi Buatan menjadi lokasi penelitian ini. Pada penelitian ini digunakan 25 itik peking DOD (Anas platyrhynchos domestica L.). Menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), yang memiliki 5 perlakuan dan 6 kali pengulangan. Penelitian ini mengkaji parameter pH, daya ikat air, susut mentah, susut masak, kadar air, kadar lemak, dan kadar protein. Pakan perlakuan termasuk dari P0 (pakan perlakuan tanpa pakan tambahan); P1 (pakan kormesil 980 gram, tepung ikan gabus 20 gram); P2 (pakan kormesil 960 gram, tepung gabus 40 gram); P3 (pakan kormesil 940 gram, tepung ikan gabus 60 gram); dan P4 (pakan kormesil 920 gram, tepung ikan gabus 80 gram). Oneway ANOVA digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa pemberian makanan tambahan tepung ikan gabus berdampak nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pH daging itik peking 0,026 dengan rata-rata 6,0%; dampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap daya ikat air 0,001 dengan rata-rata 75,96%; tidak ada dampak nyata (P>0,005) terhadap susut mentah 0,574 dengan rata-rata 4,09%; berdampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap penyusutan masakan 0,011 dengan rata-rata 19,37%; berdampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap kadar air 0,003 dengan rata-rata 76,00%; berdampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap kadar lemak 0,000 dengan rata-rata 5,21%; berdampak nyata (P<0,005) terhadap kadar protein P<0,005 dengan rata-rata 18,97%. Kata Kunci: Kualitas Daging, Lemak, Pakan Tambahan, Protein, Tepung Ikan Gabus
