Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji korelasi antara sikap "rasa takut akan Tuhan" dan prestasi akademik di kalangan siswa kelas sepuluh di SMA Swasta GKPI Padang Bulan, Medan, Indonesia, pada tahun ajaran 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain korelasional deskriptif, dengan melibatkan seluruh populasi siswa kelas sepuluh yang berjumlah 30 orang sebagai sampel. Dokumentasi dan kuesioner menggunakan 30 item pilihan ganda (a, b, c, d) sebagai instrumen penelitian. Uji reliabilitas dilakukan untuk memastikan keabsahan kuesioner. Analisis data menunjukkan distribusi normal untuk kedua data rasa takut akan Tuhan (X²_hitung < X²_tabel = 22,33 < 43,77) dan data prestasi akademik siswa (X²_hitung < X²_tabel = 18,85 < 43,77). Uji statistik menunjukkan adanya hubungan linear antara kedua variabel tersebut. Analisis lebih lanjut menggunakan uji korelasi sederhana menunjukkan korelasi positif yang signifikan, dengan nilai r sebesar 0,453 yang melebihi nilai kritis sebesar 0,361. Uji-t mengkonfirmasi signifikansi ini dengan nilai t sebesar 3,41 yang melebihi nilai kritis sebesar 1,69 pada tingkat signifikansi 95%. Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif yang signifikan antara rasa takut akan Tuhan dan prestasi akademik di kalangan siswa kelas sepuluh dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

The Religious Tourism Park (Taman Wisata Iman or TWI) in Sitinjo Dairi is one of the growing religious tourist destinations in North Sumatra. TWI offers various religious and tourist activities that combine the beauty of nature and spiritual values. The purpose of this study is to analyze the opportunities and challenges in the development of religious tourism in TWI. The method used is qualitative research with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and literature study. The results show that the opportunities for the development of religious tourism in TWI are due to the potential of a beautiful place, a conducive environment, and a spiritual experience that can provide satisfaction for visitors. The challenges of developing religious tourism in TWI include a lack of support from the government, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and a lack of skilled and experienced human resources in tourism and religion. Therefore, there is a need for government support, better infrastructure development, and human resource development for religious tourism in TWI to develop well. Abstract

Religious tourism represents a compelling form of travel that captures the interest of many individuals, particularly those of the Christian faith. It involves activities undertaken by Christian believers to visit places imbued with religious significance, such as churches, monasteries, holy tombs, or historical sites associated with the Christian religion. Religious tourism offers numerous benefits to pilgrims, ranging from the enhancement of faith and the broadening of perspectives to gaining insight into local cultures or simply enjoying a leisurely vacation. Additionally, this form of tourism can have positive impacts on local communities, contributing to economic growth, the preservation of traditions, and the promotion of interfaith tolerance. The research indicates that Christian individuals engage in religious tourism not only to deepen their spiritual understanding but also to actively contribute to communal activities that advance unity and brotherhood among different groups. The study underscores the significance of religious tourism as a means of not only personal spiritual growth but also as a catalyst for fostering intergroup harmony within the Christian community. Abstract

This qualitative study explores the interplay between religious tourism and sustainable economic development in Sibea-bea, a potential tourist destination on Samosir Island, North Sumatra Province. Through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, the research aims to understand how religious tourism can be a catalyst for economic growth while preserving cultural integrity and environmental sustainability. The study focuses on the pilgrimage practices, economic activities, and environmental policies that shape the sustainable development of Sibea-bea. It also examines the strategies employed by local stakeholders to promote Sibea-bea as a unique religious tourist destination within the global market. By analyzing the perceptions and experiences of both locals and tourists, the research seeks to provide insights into the effective management of religious sites that can contribute to the economy without compromising the locale’s sanctity and ecological balance. The findings are expected to offer a framework for policymakers and tourism developers to foster a symbiotic relationship between religious devotion and economic prosperity, ensuring the long-term viability of Sibea-bea as a sacred yet economically thriving destination.

Abstract

Religious tourism is a form of travel that not only offers spiritual experiences but also plays a significant role in enhancing environmental awareness among communities. This study aims to analyze the role of religious tourism in building environmental awareness in Tangkahan, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra Province. The research adopts a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and literature reviews. The findings reveal that religious tourism in Tangkahan has successfully raised higher awareness among tourists and local communities regarding environmental issues. Activities such as waste management, flora and fauna conservation, and environmental education integrated into religious tourism programs have effectively increased community participation in preserving the environment. Furthermore, the study found that the sustainable utilization of natural resources in religious tourism activities not only provides economic benefits to the community but also protects the environment. The conclusion of this research suggests that religious tourism in Tangkahan can serve as an effective means of fostering environmental awareness and could be used as a model for other regions to develop environmentally friendly tourism. The study offers recommendations for the development of more intensive environmental education programs and collaboration between the government, tourism operators, and local communities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the demonstration method on student learning outcomes in the subject of Christian Religious Education in grade X of Karya Agung Vocational High School in Bagan Batu Sinembah, Rokan Hilir, Riau, in the academic year 2022, and to determine the effect of conventional teaching methods on student learning outcomes in the subject of Christian Religious Education in grade X of Karya Agung Vocational High School in Bagan Batu Sinembah, Rokan Hilir, Riau, in the academic year 2022. This type of research is an experiment. The population in this study was all grade X students of Karya Agung Vocational High School in Bagan Batu Sinembah, Rokan Hilir, Riau, in the academic year 2022, consisting of 60 students in 2 parallel classes. The sample in this study consisted of two classes, namely class X-1 as the experimental class taught with the demonstration method and class X-2 as the control class taught with conventional teaching methods. From the results of the study, it was concluded that there is a significant influence of the demonstration method on student learning outcomes in grade X of Karya Agung Vocational High School in Bagan Batu Sinembah, Rokan Hilir, Riau, in the academic year 2022. This is based on the hypothesis test, where the obtained result is tcount of 3.90, while the ttable is 1.67, which means that tcount > ttable (3.90 > 1.67). If tcount is greater than ttable, then the demonstration method has a significant influence on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the correlation between the use of internet media and the spiritual development of 11th-grade students at Immanuel Private Christian Senior High School, Medan, in 2023. The study uses a descriptive-correlational research design and encompasses the entire population of 30 students. Data are collected using a questionnaire and a spiritual development scale, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results show that the students use internet media frequently and mostly for social and entertainment purposes, and have a moderate level of spiritual development. Results also show that there is a significant negative correlation between the use of internet media and the spiritual development of the students, as well as for some of its dimensions. The study discusses the implications and limitations of the results, and suggests directions for further research.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertema Gotong Royong Menuju Lingkungan Bersih dilaksanakan di Desa Dolok Saribu Lumban Nabolon, Kecamatan Uluan, Kabupaten Toba, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, pada 24 Agustus 2024 hingga 26 Agustus 2024. Program ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah yang menyebabkan limbah rumah tangga sering dibuang sembarangan. Kondisi tersebut berdampak negatif pada kesehatan masyarakat, estetika lingkungan, dan kenyamanan hidup. Melalui pendekatan partisipatif, kegiatan ini melibatkan warga desa dalam gotong royong membersihkan sampah, menyediakan tempat pembuangan sementara (TPS), serta memberikan edukasi tentang pengelolaan sampah yang berkelanjutan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas kebersihan lingkungan dan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan. Kesimpulannya, gotong royong terbukti menjadi metode yang efektif dalam menciptakan perubahan positif, baik dari segi kebersihan lingkungan maupun perilaku masyarakat.
