Abstract

The importance of technology skills for teachers in the educational process, particularly in teaching English, prompted this research. The Merdeka Curriculum enables teachers to incorporate technology into their lessons. The purpose of this study is to find out TPACK competence, TPACK level, and the factors that hinder 7th Grade English teachers in the Merdeka Curriculum at Sukaraja Commissariat, Sukabumi Regency. This research is a qualitative descriptive approach with data drawn from surveys, interviews, and classroom observations. The results indicated that teachers were at different levels of technological sophistication, with the majority being in the "Medium" group for technology use. It was reinforced by the score of each individual teacher. Respondent 1 achieved a total score of 70, which reflects 67% of the target. Respondent 2 obtained a score of 85, with an achievement level of 81%. Respondent 3 obtained a score of 76, corresponding to an achievement of 72%, while respondent 4 obtained a score of 71, with an achievement level of 68%. Educators possessing good TPACK exhibit the capability to choose and utilize suitable technologies to enhance teaching English. There are several factors that hinder teachers. First, internal factors include motivation, ability, and teacher self-support. Second, external factors include school policies, infrastructure support, and technology training.

Abstract

Vocabulary is the important thing to learn in English, but there are still many people who find it difficult to master vocabulary because of the lack of media to master it. This research was designed with the aim of finding out the effect of digital flash cards on vocabulary mastery. The design used in this research is quantitative research using pre-experimental methods. The sample in this research was 29 class 7B students at SMPN 2 Cibitung. This research was carried out by conducting a pretest, then continued with treatment for two meetings while observing, then a posttest was held after the treatment. Data in this study were collected using vocabulary test instruments at pretest and posttest, as well as observations made during the treatment. The results of this research show that students' vocabulary mastery increased after carrying out treatment using digital flash card media. This can be seen from the average score which increased from 31,28 to 61,38. Data from the results of the paired sample t-test in the SPSS application shows a significance of <0,001, which is smaller than 0,05. Then, from the observation results, it was found that digital flash cards had a positive impact on students' vocabulary mastery. The data findings from this research indicate that digital flash cards have the effect of increasing vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

In elementary school, the implementation of education for children is very weak, so it cannot guarantee character education learning. This study aimed to determine the impact of character education on student behavior at Gandasoli State Elementary School. This research uses a qualitative method, which is descriptive research. Data collection techniques were conducted by interview, observation, and documentation. Character education in elementary schools can be implemented through the learning process, school regulations, and extracurricular activities. The implementation applied at Gandasoli State Elementary School has six characteristics, namely: Implementation of tolerance character education, implementation of honest character education, implementation of hard work character education, implementation of creative character education, and implementation of discipline character education. The results of the research conducted on the behaviour of students at Gandasoli State Elementary School in the implementation of character education is follows. This can be seen from the results of observations that the behaviour of students who are taught religious values, honesty, tolerance, and discipline values are higher when students are at school.

Abstract

This research was conducted to enhance student’s writing skill of analytical exposition text for 11th grade students of SMA PGRI Cianjur through the use of Grammarly (Generative AI). This research used quantitative research and examined using pre-experimental, pretest-posttest design with one group class, namely 11th IPS grade students to be precise. Grammarly (Generative AI) and Analytical Exposition Text as independent variables and student’s writing skill as dependent v ariable. The instruments that used were writing test and questionnaire via Google form with purposive sampling of 11th grade IPS class consist 11 students from 58 students based on the 11th grade population in total. The result of the test indicates an improvement on student’s writing skill based on the average pretest score shows (75) then the average posttest score shows (80) score, and based on paired sample t- test result where .Sig = 0,02 < 0,05 which means the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (HI) is accepted. The findings were supported by student’s responses in implementing Grammarly Generative AI towards their writing skill with the percentage result shows 63,48% equals Agree category. So, it can be concluded that there is an impact and significant effect of using Grammarly (Generative AI) towards student's writing skill.
