Abstract

Islamic calligraphy is one of the cultural treasures of the Indonesian archipelago which must be preserved. Learning Islamic calligraphy increases the imagination, creativity and intellectual development of students. Of course, there are not many state school students who are talented in the art of calligraphy compared to private Islamic schools. But this does not mean that they do not have creativity in Islamic calligraphy. This community service activity aims to overcome this. Islamic calligraphy training activities use the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach where the cycle includes KUPAR (to Know, to Understand, to Plan, to Action and to Reflection). This service activity was carried out for students at Wiradesa Public Middle School 2, Pekalongan Regency, for 2 weeks. The result of this community service activity in the form of training in the art of Islamic calligraphy is that Wiradesa 2 Public Middle School students are very enthusiastic in learning to write Islamic calligraphy. This is evidenced by the results of Islamic calligraphy that has been made by students of Wiradesa 2 Public Middle School, their writing is increasingly developing and according to the rules of Islamic calligraphy. With this training, students become confident to develop their creativity and express their imagination in the form of works in the form of Islamic calligraphy.

Abstract

Keterampilan mendengarkan (maharah istima') merupakan salah satu kemampuan dasar yang diperlukan dalam mempelajari bahasa, baik bahasa asing maupun bahasa ibu. Meski dianggap sebagai keterampilan reseptif yang relatif lebih mudah dibandingkan dengan keterampilan lainnya, pada kenyataannya, maharah istima' seringkali kurang mendapat perhatian serius dari para guru bahasa. Akibatnya, hasil pembelajaran pada aspek ini kurang optimal, dan siswa menghadapi berbagai kesulitan dalam belajar keterampilan mendengarkan. Hal ini juga dialami oleh siswa SDI Kergon 2, di mana masih ditemukan sejumlah kesulitan dalam proses pembelajaran maharah istima'.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara, kemudian data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan cara reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi: (1) Kesulitan belajar bahasa Arab dalam maharah istima' pada siswa SDI Kergon 2. (2) Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan tersebut. (3) Upaya guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar bahasa Arab pada aspek mendengarkan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Siswa SDI Kergon 2 mengalami berbagai kesulitan dalam belajar maharah istima', antara lain kesulitan membedakan bunyi huruf hijaiyah, kesulitan memahami kosakata (mufradat) yang didengar, dan kesulitan memahami kalimat secara keseluruhan. (2) Faktor penyebab kesulitan tersebut meliputi latar belakang siswa, metode pengajaran yang digunakan, kemampuan siswa dalam membaca Al-Qur'an, motivasi dan semangat belajar siswa, kurikulum yang diterapkan, serta kondisi lingkungan kelas. (3) Untuk mengatasi kesulitan tersebut, guru melakukan berbagai upaya, seperti menggunakan metode dan media pembelajaran yang variatif dan sesuai dengan kemampuan siswa, menciptakan lingkungan berbahasa Arab, serta mendorong siswa untuk lebih aktif mengaji sebagai bagian dari pembelajaran.

Abstract

The implementation of Arabic learning activities at State Islamic Junior High School of 2 Jakarta, especially during the Covid-19 period, was carried out online or distance learning. But in addition, the problem faced is that the teacher uses the lecture method so that learning becomes boring because students are only listeners. As a result, it affects students' interest in teaching Arabic because it is considered monotonous. The purpose of this research is to developing the SI UJE Arabic Adventure Game based on Android and to find out its validity, practicality and effectiveness. This type of research is research and development with the ADDIE research model. The results of the validation questionnaire by media experts are 88% and material experts are 97% and both are in the very good category. Then the teacher's response was 92% and the students of grades 84 and 85 were 98% and 95% and all of them were in the very practical category. The test results for students in grade 84 are 100% and 88.8%, while for students in grade 85 are 100% and 83% are categorized as very effective.

Abstract

The current study aims to investigate the participation rate of people in Central Java, Indonesia to public Islamic universities in the period of 2015-2017, i.e. perceptions, factor analysis, and public interest. Grounded in mixed methods, data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. A total of 24,903 parents of prospective students situated in the areas of three public Islamic universities in Central Java became the research population. Proportionate random sampling was undertaken to yield 268 research participants. Study findings promote that firstly, the participation rate of people in Central Java to the government-funded Islamic universities reached 16.9 in 2016, 66.6 in 2017, and 67.3 in 2018 for percentages. Secondly, the average public perception rate to the public universities under the supervision of the Ministry of Religious Affairs was reported at the good criterion well with a score of 22.9. The majority of people demonstrated a positive view of the harmony of science and religious studies. Afterward, the average internal and external factors influence interest in the admission of the Islamic universities with an average score of 69.7 at the good enough level. Lastly, the public interest of Central Java in the universities achieved a score of 35.5 at the quite high criterion. This study also demonstrates that the public Islamic university’s services have provided excellent infrastructure, teaching staff, and student academic services. Nonetheless, various improvements are required, e.g. information technology and improvement of quality graduates to compete with other public universities.

Abstract

Human trafficking is a profound moral crisis in today’s world, threatening human dignity and fundamental rights on a wide scale. This study explores the issue through the lens of Islamic legal ethics, focusing on the reinterpretation of hifz al-nafs (protection of life) and hifz al-’ird (protection of honor) within the framework of Maqasid al-shari’ah (the higher objectives of Islamic law). Using a normative-critical approach and drawing from both classical and contemporary sources, the research rethinks these two core principles to better respond to the complex realities of human trafficking, which often involves violence, exploitation, and human rights violations. The findings show that hifz al-nafs should not be limited to physical safety but must include psychological, social, and emotional well-being. Similarly, hifz al-’ird must go beyond the narrow notion of personal honor to protect human dignity, moral integrity, and the right to freedom from abuse. The study argues that classical Islamic legal thought needs to be revisited and updated to meet the moral and legal challenges posed by human trafficking today—by incorporating principles of justice, compassion, and human rights. This research makes an academic contribution by re-conceptualizing Maqasid al-shari’ah, especially in hifz al-nafs and hifz al-’ird, enriching the discourse on Islamic legal ethics in addressing modern social issues. It also provides a stronger theoretical basis for contemporary fiqh reform and encourages critical engagement between traditional Islamic texts and today’s ethical realities. Ultimately, this study offers a valuable reference for developing more humane, responsive, and justice-oriented Islamic legal frameworks to protect victims of human trafficking.
