Abstract

The beef cattle industry plays a very important role in meeting the need for beef as one of the main sources of protein for the community. Post-production institutions for beef cattle include the entire system of organizations, institutions, and mechanisms involved in the processing, packaging, distribution, and marketing of beef products after the cattle are slaughtered. The importance of post- production institutions for beef cattle is also increasingly relevant with the increasing demand for beef, both in the domestic and international markets. The livestock products from RPH Dg Lalla include beef which is still the main product with the highest economic value. However, other parts such as bones, skin, offal, feet, and heads of cattle also contribute significantly to supporting the economy of livestock farmers and business actors. The use of all parts of the cattle, if managed properly, can provide great added value while reducing livestock waste. The flow of products starts from the collector as the provider of cattle, then sells the cattle at the RPH. The average cattle slaughter at RPH UD. Akbar Jaya is 20 per day depending on market demand. Then the RPH carries out its functions such as supervision and inspection of beef that is slaughtered every 02.00-05.00 in the morning. Furthermore, the beef is distributed by the butcher to consumers through retailers in traditional markets in Makassar City and processing traders to be processed such as meatballs, coto and others. The buyers of the processed beef products are the end consumers.

Abstract

Agriculture is a very important sector in human life, providing food and raw materials for various industries. However, along with the increasing demand for food due to global population growth, conventional agricultural practices have faced various serious challenges that threaten environmental sustainability and the welfare of farmers. The concept of sustainability in agricultural businesses emerged as a solution to overcome these challenges. Agricultural sustainability emphasizes practices that can maintain a balance between economic, environmental, and social needs. This research aims to analyze the level of sustainability of lowland rice businesses using a composite index from Likert scale data on farmers' perceptions. The research was conducted in Alitta Village, Mattiro Bulu District, Pinrang Regency, in May 2024. The analysis used in this research was measured by creating a composite index of sustainability efforts. The research results show that the sustainability index for lowland rice businesses in Alitta Village is assessed from two dimensions: economic and social. In the economic dimension, most variables are in the medium sustainability index category. Meanwhile, the variables for the incidence of crop failure and the sufficiency of family needs are in the low sustainability index category. Meanwhile, in the social dimension, the variables of knowledge about farming methods and level of motivation are in the high sustainability index category. Meanwhile, the variables for labor absorption and family involvement in farming are in the medium and low sustainability index categories.

Abstract

The gap between the theory of plane geometry and real-life contexts occurs because the media often used only teach procedurally, resulting in weak conceptual understanding among students. Based on this, this research aims to develop a digital puzzle based on traditional houses that is suitable and practical for use as a virtual manipulative medium to bridge contextual understanding toward conceptual understanding. This research used a Research and Development (R&D) design and the 4-D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate) with interview guidelines and feasibility and practicality questionnaires as instruments, which were administered to 25 fourth-grade elementary school students. The results of validation by content and media experts indicate a very feasible category with feasibility percentages of 88% and 97.5%. This media is considered very practical to use, with a practicality percentage of 81.7%. These findings show that Digital Puzzle Media based on Traditional Houses is well-suited for teaching plane geometry in elementary school.

Abstract

A new challenge in 21st-century learning processes is the demand for technology integration without neglecting the richness of local culture. This research aims to develop Augmented Reality (AR) learning media integrated with the local culture of Kaliurang that is feasible and practical to use. This research approach uses a quantitative and qualitative approach, also known as a mixed method, with a research and development (R&D) design model 4-D consisting of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data collection was conducted through interviews and questionnaires. The selection of subjects was carried out through random sampling with a population of sixth-grade students. The sample used in this study consisted of 25 sixth-grade students from SD Negeri Umbulharjo 2 over 2 months. The analysis of interview data was conducted descriptively, while the questionnaire data used descriptive statistical analysis. The analysis results found the need for the development of learning media, which was subsequently assessed for feasibility with an average score of 3.93 or 98.43%, categorized as "Very Feasible" by subject matter experts, and an average score of 4 or 100%, categorized as "Very Feasible" by media experts. The practicality test received an average score of 3.6 or 90%, classified as "Very Practical" by the students. The findings indicate that Augmented Reality (AR) integrated with the local culture of Kaliurang is well used as a learning medium for spatial geometry with the utilization of technology in the classroom at the elementary school level to support the understanding process of students. This research contributes to the development of innovative learning media integrated with the local culture of Kaliurang, which replicates the improvement of mathematics learning quality. Also, it provides a foundation for further research and practical application in the field of education.
