Abstract

Negative effects of social media use may include the emergence of consumerist tendencies and hedonism. Lack of knowledge regarding communication ethics on social media causes a lack of awareness of the importance of policies in social media. Several teachers also said that many Putra Bangsa Middle School students experienced complaints about using social media, such as receiving negative comments and not understanding how to respond to issues or content on social media. The aim of carrying out this service activity is to educate about the importance of communication ethics on social media. This research has important implications in shaping student character in the digital era. Increasing understanding of communication ethics can help students interact positively and responsibly on social media platforms. The hope of this research is that Putra Bangsa Middle School students can participate actively in implementing communication ethics in social media. In this way, it is hoped that they can become critical and responsible individuals in communicating not only in the real world but also in cyberspace. In conclusion, this counseling has a positive impact in shaping student character and reflects concern for the formation of a generation with character in Indonesia.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang akan dilaksanakan berupa edukasi kepada masyarakat melalui kegiatan penyuluhan mengenai asam urat. Khalayak sasaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah warga RW 04 di Lenteng Agung, Jakarta Selatan. Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan dengan penyuluhan terlebih dahulu kemudian baru melakukan pemeriksaan gratis asam urat. Manfaat yang didapatkan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini antara lain dapat mengedukasi akan bahaya penyakit asam urat, serta menumbuhkan kesadaran dalam melakukan konsumsi makanan sehingga ikut andil dalam meningkatkan derajat Kesehatan. Kata Kunci: komunikasi efektif, asam urat, edukasi

Abstract

Purpose: Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the Siti Khadijah Al-Kubra Orphanage has initiated self-reliance in its operations, particularly through small businesses. This effort was driven by the decrease in donors since the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the economy in the orphanage's surrounding community. The business ventures include refillable water and laundry services. Method: The methods used in this service include training, technology application, technology assistance, and sustainability. Practical Application: The goal of this community service is to provide training and guidance on integrated marketing communication within the orphanage environment to improve the economy. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Siti Khadijah Al-Kubra Orphanage. Conclusion: This community service activity resulted in approximately 90% understanding among participants regarding integrated marketing communication, small business management, and the application of technology to support business sustainability.

Abstract

Komunikasi interpersonal merupakan proses yang berkelanjutan dalam mengirim, menerima, dan mengadaptasi pesan verbal maupun non-verbal dengan tujuan menciptakan atau mengubah pandangan dalam pikiran penerima. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan komunikasi interpersonal antara pustakawan dan pengunjung di layanan sirkulasi Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan tiga informan yang terdiri dari pustakawan dan pengunjung perpustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal antara pustakawan dan pengunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia berjalan dengan baik, meskipun terdapat hambatan seperti kurangnya sikap proaktif dari pustakawan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya peningkatan kualitas komunikasi interpersonal pustakawan agar pelayanan dapat lebih optimal dan mendukung kebutuhan pengunjung perpustakaan.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to address the marketing challenges faced by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) at the Khadijah Orphanage, South Jakarta, focusing on improving product appeal, pricing, and promotion to boost sales and income for the orphanage.Method: The research is based on a socialization event held on February 25, 2023, by Universitas Indonesia Maju’s Faculty of Communication Science. Data were gathered through observations and discussions with 25 participants, including orphanage staff and residents.Practical Applications: The findings suggest that SMEs at the orphanage can improve sales by enhancing product appeal, adopting competitive pricing, and expanding promotional efforts through agents, rather than relying solely on direct sales to consumers.Conclusion: Effective marketing strategies, including better product presentation, pricing, and broader promotion channels, can increase the competitiveness of SMEs at the orphanage, contributing to their financial sustainability.
