Abstract

The educational system faces an epistemological dilemma stemming from individuals’ limited ability to manage their own waste. The integration of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project into primary school curricula through the use of Buried Compost Bin (BCB) media is supported by both the notion of human superiority and these challenges. The project followed the ADDIE model, encompassing analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Tools employed included media validation sheets, student pre- and post-tests, and teacher surveys. A group of 100 students and six teachers was selected to foster environmental awareness and scientific behavioural responses. The BCB media was validated as implementable, accessible, adaptable to various social contexts, and compliant with environmental standards. Statistical methods, including t-tests, were used to analyse quantitative data from teacher evaluations and test results. The findings indicated that BCB media significantly increased awareness and promoted behavioural change, with improvement rising from 12% to 48%. Qualitative linguistic analysis further confirmed a causal link between student media engagement and behavioural change. Overall, BCB media proved effective and efficient in enhancing students’ environmental awareness and encouraging scientific behavioural change

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of literacy activities in the Go Green program in improving elementary school students’ environmental awareness, which includes cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. The research subjects were 40 fifth-grade students (class V.B) at SDN 1 Arjawinangun. The program was implemented from February to June 2025 with literacy activities focusing on greening, waste management, reduction of single-use plastics, and energy and water conservation. The study employed a one-group pretest–posttest design using questionnaires before and after the program, accompanied by observations to capture students’ behavior during the activities. The results of the paired sample t-test indicated a significant increase in students’ environmental awareness, with posttest scores on average 9.75 points higher than pretest scores (t = -18.004; p < 0.001). Simple regression analysis revealed that literacy activities in the Go Green program had a positive and significant effect on improving overall environmental awareness. Meanwhile, multiple regression analysis showed that the four literacy activities contributed differently to students’ cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. These findings demonstrate a strong effect size. However, this study is limited by the use of a one-group design, reliance on self-reported measures, and restricted generalization since it involved only one class from a single school.

Abstract

Parental involvement in children's education has become a normative expectation in contemporary society, with research demonstrating its significant impact on academic achievement through skill development and motivation enhancement mechanisms. However, limited research has examined the multidimensional nature of parental involvement in Indonesian elementary school contexts, particularly regarding the factors that influence engagement patterns and their relationship with student outcomes. This qualitative study was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Terusan, Indramayu Regency, from April 7-30, 2025, involving 40 participants comprising parents and fourth-grade students. Data were collected through structured questionnaires measuring five dimensions of parental involvement: learning assistance, facility provision, motivation and emotional support, school communication, and learning supervision. Additional documentation supported data triangulation. Analysis followed a systematic three-stage process of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Findings revealed that parents excel in providing emotional support and motivation (87-91% participation rates) and direct learning assistance (78-82%), representing the strongest dimensions of involvement. However, significant gaps emerged in school communication (54-76% range) and systematic learning supervision, particularly regarding technology monitoring (63%). Economic factors influenced facility provision, with 32% of families experiencing resource limitations, while 86% of students reported feeling encouraged rather than pressured by parental approaches. The results validate theoretical frameworks emphasizing motivation enhancement while revealing context-specific patterns that challenge simplified interpretations of cultural capital theory. The universal presence of emotional support across socioeconomic strata, contrasted with differentiated material resource access, suggests that Indonesian parents possess educational commitment that transcends immediate economic circumstances. Critical communication gaps between parents and schools represent institutional collaboration challenges requiring systematic intervention strategies.

Abstract

Reading comprehension represents a fundamental cognitive process essential for academic success, yet many elementary students demonstrate significant challenges in understanding informational texts. Traditional lecture-based instructional approaches have proven insufficient in developing deep comprehension skills necessary for critical analysis and knowledge construction. This study investigated the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodology in enhancing reading comprehension among fifth-grade students studying Indonesian language informational texts. A classroom action research design following the Kemmis and McTaggart model was implemented over two instructional cycles at SDIT Global Islamic School Permata Ummi. Nineteen fifth-grade students participated in systematic PBL implementation involving real-world problem presentation, collaborative investigation, and solution development. Data collection utilized pre-cycle assessments, post-cycle evaluations, structured observations, and comprehensive documentation. Quantitative analysis employed percentage calculations to determine mastery rates and performance improvements. Substantial improvements were observed across all implementation phases. Student mastery rates increased from 47% in pre-cycle assessment to 68.42% in Cycle I and 94.7% in Cycle II, representing a 47.7% overall improvement. Class averages progressed from 78.42 to 88.31, demonstrating consistent enhancement in collective reading comprehension capabilities. The progression from Cycle I to Cycle II showed 26.28% improvement, exceeding established success criteria. The findings validate constructivist learning principles underlying PBL methodology, demonstrating that students effectively construct knowledge through guided problem-solving experiences. Results indicate that PBL addresses multiple reading comprehension dimensions simultaneously, including factual identification, inferential reasoning, main idea comprehension, and evaluative interpretation. The research provides empirical evidence for integrating critical thinking development with reading instruction, offering practical alternatives to traditional pedagogical approaches for enhancing elementary literacy education.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peranan media pembelajaran literasi dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan meningkatkan keterampilan numerasi di kelas 3 di sdn1 perbutulan terhadap penggunaan soal Higher order thinking skills (HOTS). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan melibatkan dua kelompok yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan total responden sebanyak 25 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan, bahwa literasi numerasi memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap minat belajar siswa kelas III SDN 1 Perbutulan dalam konteks pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Dimana hasil uji hipotesismenunjukan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,03 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05 hal tersebut mengindikasikan penolakan hipotesis nol. Selain itu, literasi numerasi juga mempengaruhi aktivitas belajar siswa sebesar 27,4% berdasarkan koefisien determinasi dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain di luar penelitian ini.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model Problem Based Learning Terhadap Minat Belajar IPA Kelas V SDN Lebakngok Kota Cirebon. Untuk mencpai tujuan itu, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif jenis penelitian Pre-Experimental, yaitu Design dimana pada penelitian ini bukanlah desain eksperimen yang sungguh- sungguh karena bukan hanya variabel dependen yang semata-mata mempengaruhi variabel independent, melainkan ada variabel luar yang ikut berpengaruh terhadap variabel dependent tersebut karena tidak adanya kelas kontrol dan pemilihan. sampel yang tidak secara random. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V, Sample dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas V sebanyak berjumlah 23 siswa dengan teknik pengambilan sampel Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan non probability sampling tipe sampling jenuh. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes minat belajar dan lembar observasi. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis statistic deskriptif kuantitatif dan analisis statistic inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh: (1) Minat belajar IPA Sebelum (Pre- Test) Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Kelas V SDN Lebakngok menunjukan bahwa rata-rata nilai untuk sebesar 65,43 dengan kategori Kurang Baik, (2) Minat belajar IPA Setelah (Post-Test) Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Kelas V SDN Lebakngok. menunjukan bahwa rata-rata nilai untuk sebesar 84,82 dengankategori Sangat Baik. (3) nilai bahwa thitung (t0) = 4,016 > dari t tabel yakni 1,713. Jadi, H0 di tolak dan Ha di terima, artinya Model Problem Based Learning Terhadap Minat belajar IPA Kelas V SDN Lebakngok. Artinya bahwa dengan penggunaan Model Problem Based Learning pada pembelajaran IPA sangat berpengaruh terhadap Minat belajar peserta didik karena peserta didik akan lebih bersemangat dan mudah memahami materi yang diajarkan oleh guru, dengan begitu minat belajar peserta didik juga akan meningkat.

Abstract

The inability to read the opportunities of the dilemma of the distribution of waste in the environment in relation to the needs of the educational transmission period in the post-pandemic era as it is today leads to our limitations in meeting the needs of educational efforts and strategies in various challenges of the times. This study aims to present educational transmission efforts and strategies for handling waste distribution in the post-pandemic era which is an innovative educational approach towards sustainable human and natural resource development based on an economic-socio-cultural basis. The method is descriptive quantitative that was conducted at one of the public schools elementary from  August until November of the 2021/2022 academic year. The sample is 150 students from 1, 2, and 3-grade elementary schools. The results found in the field are that through the realization of the school waste bank regarding the regulation of implementing waste sorting from home and then proceeding to deposit waste to the school waste bank this strategy initiates scientific practice towards the scientific behavior of students. The contribution of this research is instilling good behavior from an early age, and it is hoped that good habits will emerge and contribute to environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis (1) bagaimana pemahaman siswa mengenai gotong royong; (2) bagaimana partisipasi siswa dalam kegiatan proyek P5. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa pre-test, post-test, dan angket. Responden penelitian adalah 17 siswa kelas V, yang terlibat dalam kegitan proyek P5. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa setelah mengikuti proyek P5. Pada pre-test, hanya 23,52% siswa memahami peran uang dalam kegiatan gotong royong (modal ekonomi), sedangkan pada post-test terjadi penurunan ke 11,76%. Namun, skor angket menunjukkan bahwa 70,58% siswa terbiasa membantu pekerjaan rumah, dan 88,23% siswa rutin melaksanakan piket kelas. Dari aspek ranah, siswa menunjukkan partisipasi cukup baik, terutama dalam aspek habitus, siswa sudah menunjukkan kemampuan gotong royong yang sangat baik. meskipun pada aspek modal sosial dan simbolik masih perlu diperkuat lagi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa proyek P5 efektif sebagai media pembentukan karakter gotong royong siswa, meskipun masih perlu pendampingan yang berkelanjutan untuk memperdalam aspek teoritis dan praktik sosialnya.
