Abstract

Globalization has increased the intensity of cross-cultural interactions, which on the one hand opens up opportunities for knowledge exchange, but on the other hand also raises potential social conflicts due to differences in identities, economic competition, social gaps, and provocations in digital media. This condition emphasizes the urgency of studying the dynamics of social conflict and multicultural dialogue strategies as relevant resolution mechanisms in the era of globalization. The purpose of this study is to identify the triggering factors of social conflict, analyze the role of multicultural dialogue in reducing inter-identity tensions, and formulate effective strategies in encouraging social cohesion. The method used is a mixed method, with a quantitative approach through a survey of urban multicultural communities (n=200) using a Likert scale questionnaire, and a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. Quantitative data analysis was carried out with descriptive and inferential statistics, while qualitative data was analyzed thematically. The results show that differences in cultural identity are the dominant factors triggering conflicts (35%), followed by economic competition (28%), social disparities (21%), and digital media (16%). Qualitative findings show that multicultural dialogue based on the principles of mutual recognition, equal participation, and social justice plays an important role in fostering reconciliation and social cohesion. This research emphasizes that multicultural education policies, cross-cultural festivals, and digital literacy are practical strategies that need to be implemented to strengthen social integration in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study addresses the role of environmental factors and biological predisposition in the development of toddlers' lexical competence. The background of the study highlights that 1-5 years is a crucial period for children to absorb vocabulary, but the level of success is often influenced by genetic variables and the intensity of verbal interaction. The method used is qualitative with participatory observation, parent interviews, and collection of daily records to map the dynamics of vocabulary learning. The results show a synergy between innate potential and communication-rich environments, where high genetic potential children are further helped by stimulation, while low potential children can catch up through intense interaction. The implication is that an integrated approach that aligns biological characteristics and environmental support is expected to maximize early language development.

Abstract

Abstract

Climate change is becoming an increasingly urgent global issue, especially in the Southeast Asian region that is vulnerable to ecological disasters. In this context, ecofeminism offers a critical framework for understanding the relationship between domination of women and environmental exploitation. This study aims to analyze how ecofeminism values are represented in digital climate campaigns in Southeast Asia, as well as assess their impact on public awareness and environmental policies. This research uses a qualitative approach with a critical-feminist paradigm through comparative case studies in Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Data were obtained through analysis of digital content on social media (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook), in-depth interviews with women activists, and analysis of policy documents and academic literature. The analysis was carried out using a critical discourse analysis (AWK) approach to examine the construction of the narrative of ecofeminism in the digital space. The results show that ecofeminism-based digital campaigns, such as #Ibukudiatplastik and #ClimateStrikeSEA, have succeeded in increasing public awareness of the interconnectedness of gender and the environment, with the highest achievement in Indonesia, followed by Thailand and Vietnam. However, direct influence on policy is still limited, so digital activism is more effective in building collective awareness and strengthening women's political capacity than creating concrete regulatory changes. This study recommends the need to integrate digital strategies with formal policy advocacy, strengthening transnational networks of women activists, and improving people's digital-ecological literacy. Thus, digital ecofeminism can serve not only as an arena for discourse, but also as a transformative instrument in the struggle for ecological justice in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

Traditional fishing communities are among the most economically vulnerable groups, especially amidst the pressures of climate change, limited market access, and the dominance of middlemen. In the midst of these challenges, cooperatives are present as an alternative economic institution that has the potential to strengthen the bargaining power and solidarity of coastal communities. This study aims to examine the social role of cooperatives in the process of economic empowerment of traditional fishing communities in Cirebon. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach, through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of active cooperative members. The results show that cooperatives not only function as providers of access to capital, but also as reinforcers of social solidarity, spaces for democratic participation, and means of local economic transformation that reduce dependence on middlemen. Cooperatives encourage collective behavioral change and shape a more equitable socio-economic structure. The implications of this research support the development of community-based policies and the expansion of social-based cooperative models to improve the economic resilience of coastal areas. In addition, this study opens up opportunities for further research on cooperative digitalization and adaptive cooperative models in the era of a sustainable maritime economy.

Abstract

Digital transformation has changed the business landscape of MSMEs in Indonesia, with social commerce and live streaming selling on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram becoming game-changers. However, only a small percentage of MSMEs have succeeded in adopting it optimally, so a deep understanding of the factors for the success of the adoption is needed. This study aims to analyze the factors of success in the adoption of social commerce and live streaming selling in Indonesian MSMEs, as well as compare implementation strategies on the TikTok and Instagram platforms. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological design through a multi-case study. Data was collected from in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis of 23 MSMEs that actively use live streaming. The success of adoption is determined by the interaction of technology factors (ease and benefits of the platform), organization (commitment and readiness of human resources), individuals (entrepreneurial orientation), and trust-building strategies through real-time interaction, authenticity, and after-sales service. TikTok is more optimal for mass-market products with impulse purchases, while Instagram is effective for premium product branding. The research findings provide implementation guidance for MSMEs, input on feature development for platform providers, and policy recommendations for the government to support the inclusive digital transformation of MSMEs.
