Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the performance of management of transfer funds from the central to regional government and its impact on development in Central Kalimantan Province. The method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative and quantitative approach to measure effectiveness, efficiency and accountability in managing these funds. The research results show that the management of transfer funds in Central Kalimantan has been implemented quite well, but there are still several obstacles in the aspects of budget absorption and supervision. The impact of transfer fund management on regional development can be seen from improvements in infrastructure, education and health. However, to achieve more optimal results, it is necessary to increase the capacity of local human resources and a more effective monitoring system.

Abstract

This research aims to map the economic potential in the Central Kalimantan region using the integration of three analytical methods, namely Hierarchical Cluster Analysis, Shift-Share, and Dynamic Location Quotient. Through this approach, this research identifies economic sectors that have comparative and competitive advantages at the local level and have the potential for further development. Hierarchical Cluster Analysis is used to group regions based on similar economic characteristics, while Shift-Share Analysis helps in determining sectors that contribute to regional economic growth. Dynamic Location Quotient is applied to assess changes in the comparative advantage of economic sectors over time. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a reference for stakeholders in formulating appropriate regional economic policies to encourage sustainable economic growth in Central Kalimantan.

Abstract

Regional autonomy is an improvement in welfare and services for the community that is carried out fairly, equitably, and in order to create a good relationship between one region and another. Local governments in East Kalimantan Province have rights and obligations in managing regional revenues and managing Regional Original Revenue. Regional expenditure aims to increase the development of various capital accommodations. Infrastructure development and accommodation are carried out to increase investment attractiveness. Infrastructure development has a real impact on the increase in Regional Original Income (PAD). This study is aimed at analyzing the causality between regional expenditure and local native income in East Kalimantan province in 2011-2024. The analytical methods used in this study are Cointegration Test, Unit Root Test and Granger Causality Test. From the results of data analysis, it shows that Regional Expenditure and Regional Original Income in East Kalimantan Province are fluctuating during the period 2011-2024. The results of the cointegration test analysis show that there is no long-term balance relationship between economic growth and external debt. Meanwhile, according to the results of the root test analysis, it is known that the variables Regional Expenditure and Regional Original Income are declared stationary. Then through the analysis of Granger's causality test showed that there was no significant effect of Regional Original Income (PAD) on Regional Expenditure (BD). From these two results, it can be concluded that there is no influence between Regional Original Income (PAD) and Regional Expenditure so that there is no significant influence between the two.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out and analyze whether the Kuznets hypothesis applies in Central Kalimantan. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. Based on regression analysis and hypothesis testing, the Gross Regional Product (GR) variable does not significantly influence economic growth (PE) at the 5% significance level, but becomes significant at the 10% significance level. Overall, the regression model is not able to explain variations in economic growth well, as shown by the low R^2 value, only 1.9%. Graphical analysis also shows that the Kuznets hypothesis does not apply in Central Kalimantan in the 2017-2022 period, because there is no significant change in shape that reflects the Kuznets Curve pattern. Therefore, it can be concluded that the GR variable does not have a significant influence on economic growth in the region. This is proven by the absence of a significant inverted-U curve pattern in the relationship between these two variables. The image resulting from the analysis actually shows a relatively straight line trend and does not form a pattern as assumed in the Kuznets hypothesis. Thus, the relationship between economic growth and income inequality in Central Kalimantan in the 2017-2022 period does not follow an inverted-U pattern as hypothesized by Kuznets.

Abstract

At the national and regional levels, sustainable strategies are needed to address complex and ongoing issues, including poverty, unemployment, and regional minimum wages. There are two factors that are the focus of this study: Provincial Minimum Wage in Central Kalimantan Province: 1) The Impact of Education Level on Poverty and Unemployment; and 2) The Impact of Early Labor Force Participation Rate on Poverty and Unemployment through the Regional Minimum Wage. Time series data from 2014 to 2023 is used as secondary data in this study. The type of data used is quantitative data. The data was analyzed using path analysis, and SPPS 25 was the analysis tool used. Based on the findings, there is a significant indirect relationship between unemployment and poverty and education level. In addition, there is a significant indirect relationship between unemployment and poverty with the initial labor force participation rate, which is influenced by the regional minimum wage.

Abstract

Poverty is not just about difficulties in meeting basic needs, but also involves various dimensions of human life such as health, education, future security, and influential social roles. Some factors that influence poverty include the Gender Development Index (GDI), the Human Development Index (HDI), and Economic Growth as measures of human progress and economic development. In this study, the path analysis method is used, allowing us to identify the direct and indirect impacts of independent variables on dependent variables. Thus, we can understand the complex relationship between various factors in the context of poverty. The information used for this study is sourced from the Central Statistics Agency of Central Kalimantan using secondary information in the form of time series data. The findings of this research show that the gender development index has no influence on the economic growth variable. The human development index also does not affect the economic growth variable. Additionally, the gender development index does not affect the poverty level variable. However, the human development index significantly affects the economic growth variable. Meanwhile, economic growth does not affect the poverty level. Finally, the human development index through economic growth does not have a significant impact on the poverty level.
