Abstract

Hypertension is one of the major health problems frequently experienced by the elderly and can lead to serious complications if not properly managed. Simple physical activities such as massage can serve as a non-pharmacological intervention to help reduce blood pressure. This study aimed to determine the effect of physical activity in the form of massage on reducing blood pressure in elderly individuals with hypertension at PSTW "Meci Angi" in Bima City. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre-post test control group design. The sample consisted of 20 elderly people divided into two groups, an experimental group and a control group, with 10 respondents in each group. Data were collected using an observation sheet to measure blood pressure before and after the intervention. The t-test analysis showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.009, which was less than α = 0.05, indicating a significant effect of physical activity on lowering blood pressure among the elderly. Therefore, massage as a simple form of physical activity can be considered an alternative intervention in managing hypertension among the elderly in social care institutions.

Abstract

Homeschooling, sebagai alternatif pendidikan di rumah, memerlukan peran utama orang tua yang signifikan. Orang tua bertanggung jawab sebagai perencana dan pelaksana kurikulum, yang mencakup pemilihan materi ajar, metode pengajaran, dan penyesuaian dengan standar pendidikan nasional. Mereka juga berfungsi sebagai fasilitator pembelajaran dengan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, menyediakan sumber daya yang diperlukan, dan membantu anak mengembangkan keterampilan belajar mandiri. Selain itu, orang tua berperan sebagai evaluator kemajuan belajar anak dengan menggunakan metode penilaian yang efektif dan memberikan umpan balik konstruktif. Dukungan emosional dari orang tua mencakup pembangunan hubungan yang erat, penanaman percaya diri dan motivasi, serta manajemen stres dan kecemasan. Tantangan dalam homeschooling termasuk memilih dan menyusun kurikulum yang tepat, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang optimal, memperoleh dukungan dari komunitas homeschooling, serta memenuhi kebutuhan sosial dan emosional anak. Peran ganda orang tua sebagai guru dan fasilitator memerlukan keterampilan yang komprehensif untuk memastikan keberhasilan pendidikan di rumah. Dengan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang tanggung jawab ini, diharapkan orang tua dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung dan memperkaya perkembangan anak secara menyeluruh.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the application of Guided Inquiry  learning that able to improve self-confidence and understanding of mathematical concepts of grade VIII students of SMP N 13 Mataram. The type of research used is classroom action research. The subjects of this study are 33 students in grade VIII/E SMP N 13 Mataram. The research instruments used consisted of teacher and student observation sheets, self-confidence  questionnaires and evaluation test sheets. Based on the learning results in the first cycle, the results of the implementation of teacher activity learning were 67.77% with the good category and the results of the percentage of student activity were 57.27% with the sufficient category, then the results of obtaining student self-confidence were 62,01% with the appropriate category, and the completeness of student learning was classically 30.30% with the low category. Meanwhile, in the second cycle, there was an increase obtained from the percentage of teacher activity of 86.60% (very good) and student activity of 80.90% (very good), while the results of student self-confidence were 93,02% (very appropriate), and the classical completeness of students was 81.82%. Based on the results of the research, the researcher in this study has increased from cycle I to cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that through the application of guided inquiry  learning, it can increase self-confidence and understanding of mathematical concepts of students in grade VIII/E SMP N 13 Mataram

Abstract

This study analyzed the factors influencing the decisions of twelfth-grade students from MA, SMA, and SMK in Bombana Regency in choosing a higher education institution, with a case study of Universitas Sains Islam Al Mawaddah Warrahmah Kolaka (USIMAR). The study employed an explanatory quantitative approach involving 114 respondents and applied multiple linear regression analysis. The variables examined included accreditation, economic factors, social factors, promotion and campus image, and religiosity. The results indicated that, simultaneously, all variables significantly influenced students’ decisions, with an R² value of 0.817. Partially, economic, social, and religiosity factors had a significant effect, whereas accreditation as well as promotion and campus image did not have a significant effect. Social factors were identified as the most dominant determinant influencing students’ decisions to choose USIMAR Kolaka.

Abstract

Waste management in the dusun beringin of Kalikoa village has not been going well, because there has been no socialization about waste management among its residents. The volume of waste increases along with the increasing rate of population growth. KKM Student Activities in an effort to provide education on how to properly and correctly manage waste with the target of increasing public awareness and knowledge, especially the smallest unit, namely the family, to carry out a waste sorting program through the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) program and recycle organic and inorganic waste. inorganic. The method of activity used is the socialization of waste sorting (3R) and the use of recycled waste. It is hoped that through this socialization activity, public awareness in the use of waste will increase, they are accustomed to sorting organic and inorganic waste.
