Abstract

This study aims to determine stakeholder perceptions of the Transparency of Village Fund Management in South Toto Village, Kabila District, Bone Bolango Regency, with reference to the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 20 of 2018 concerning Village Financial Management. This research method uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used in this study was through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that stakeholder access in the budget accountability report has been carried out in the form of a Transparency Board / Billboard, so that all activities and their budgets can be seen by stakeholders. The weakness is that if there is a change in activities and budgets, then stakeholders do not have access to these changes. Independent audit involvement in budget transparency has been carried out. The audit was carried out by the Regency Inspectorate regarding finances and accountability reports for all activities that had been carried out. The weakness is that most stakeholders do not know the results of the examination or audit. Stakeholder involvement in budget decision making has been carried out, every planning stage always involves the BPD, LPM and the community. The weakness is that community involvement is only in the form of providing ideas and proposals related to the needs in each hamlet, but the stages of determining them are no longer involved.

Abstract

Although several linguists have examined the studies on study abroad (SA), limited studies have focused on online study-abroad contexts. The current study investigates the production of pragmatic routine and its influence on online sociocultural adaptation during online study abroad. This study involved Indonesian students in English and Chinese-taught programs at Beihang University, China. As a mixed method, this study uses Vocabulary Knowledge Scale (VKS) and Sociocultural Adaptation Scale (SCAS) to measure the students’ pragmatic routines production and online sociocultural adaptation. VKS scale is used to investigate the expression categories, including expressions of thanking, requesting, complementing, and greeting. In addition, SCAS is also used to explore the students’ sociocultural aspects, cognitive aspects, and behavioral situations. As a result, the study shows that most Indonesian students enrolling in Chinese and English-taught programs tend to produce pragmatic routines even though the Chinese aspect is produced more than the English aspect. Furthermore, there is also a positive contribution to the production of pragmatic routine and its development influenced by sociocultural adaptation during online study abroad.

Abstract

This study explores the differences and similarities in the use of modal expressions "be going to" and "will" between English and Gorontalonese, a language spoken in the Gorontalo region of Indonesia. The modal expressions "be going to" and "will" are commonly used in English to indicate future actions, intentions, or predictions. However, their usage may vary across languages and dialects. Through a comparative analysis of authentic language data, including texts and conversations, this research investigates how speakers of English and Gorontalonese employ these modal expressions in different contexts. The study examines factors such as grammatical structure, semantic nuances, and cultural influences that may contribute to the variation in the usage of "be going to" and "will" between the two languages. The findings provide insights into the linguistic features of modal expressions in English and Gorontalonese, shedding light on cross-linguistic differences and contributing to the field of comparative linguistics.
