Abstract

Machines have a very important role to support and improve human life for the better, therefore before machines are made, many things must be considered. including: the working principle of the machine, the materials used, what the best design looks like, and many others. This research is to find out the process of making bevel gears in a gearbox and knowing the estimated time for making oblique gears. From the research results, it was found that the process of making these gears was making technical drawings of the gear, selecting the material to be used, the process on the lathe, the process on the hobbing machine, and the hardening process. The result of calculating the estimated time for making gears based on theory is that the feeding time for 1 tooth with an average weight of 3.15 kg takes 12 minutes. The total from installation to finished goods takes 4 hours 22 minutes, and the results of calculations based on the field are that the feeding process per 1 tooth takes 13 minutes. The total time from installation to finished goods takes 5 hours.

Abstract

Welded joining is a process of joining two or more similar metals by melting the area around the weld so that the metallurgical bonding of the weld metal occurs. In welding with filler metal, metals that have the same characteristics as the base metal are generally used. For welding thick pipes, notches and gaps are always made so that the filler metal can fill the area. The amount of filler metal will affect the strength of the weld. From the experimental results using E60xx and E70xx electrodes at a combined pressure of 60 bar, it gives good welding results at 1 mm filler filling. This result is in accordance with what is recommended by ASME.

Abstract

50 kg wet rebon shrimp drying machine is an energy-saving tool that works by flowing hot air with a temperature between 40 to 50 degrees Celsius to the surface of rebon shrimp. The main component of this drying machine is heat exchanger. Air and husks are burned to produce heat energy. The gas then passes through the heat exchanger tube using a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger used is a cross-flow heat exchanger, meaning that the gas released after burning the husk is not mixed with the air fluid. To determine the performance of the heat exchanger, the construction plan is designed using the IMTD approach and as effective as possible because CFD simulation is integrated into Anys15.0. The results of previous measurements and calculations are the input data entered into the application. With a turnaround time of 8 hours, 50 kg of fresh rebon shrimp can be dried to 31.2 kg of water thanks to the 103.5 watt heat flow rate from the air dryer.

Abstract

Penukar panas tipe koil adalah salah satu bagian penting dalam proses pemindahan panas dari panas gas buang knalpot ke air. Penukar panas tipe koil ini belum banyak dimanfaatkan pada gas-gas buang hasil pembakaran. Pemindahan panas dari gas ke air dalam koil dilakukan secara konduksi dan konveksi sepanjang knalpot. Panas yang diterima air dalam koil akan mengubah fasa cair menjadi uap dan kemudian mengalirkan uap air tersebut secara alamiah bergerak mengalir dalam penukar panas. Volume air dalam koil jumlahnya setengah dari volume ruang pipa peukar panas koil. Dari hasil penelitian dan simulasi yang saya lakukan air dalam tangki air dapat dipanaskan hingga mencapai 82 oC. Penukar kalor ini mampu memindahkan panas dari air panas yang keluar dari penukar panas pada knalpot kedalam air dalam tangka air (shell) sebanyak 2 liter. Hasil akhir dari perhitungan diperlukan laju aliran panas sebesar 158.13 Watt.

Abstract

Plat berlubang banyak digunakan sebagai penyambungan tidak tetap pada berbagai konstruksi mesin. Tegangan maksimum yang dialami oleh plat berlubang akan terpusat pada bagian-bagian yang mempunyai perubahan geometri yang paling kritis. Sehingga akan menimbulkan deformasi yang berakibat kegagalan pada plat sebagai penyambung. Hasil analisis menggunakan Aplikasi Static Structural dari Ansys 14.5, tegangan yang paling besar terjadi sepanjang jarak antar lubang maupun dengan tepi plat. Penurunan konsentrasi tegangan Kc = 0.54 juga terjadi pada jarak antar lubang 0.25D dengan ketebalan 2 mm. Pengaruh dominan yang dialami oleh plat berlubang 2 x 2 susunan inline adalah pada jarak antar lubang maupun tepi. Sedangkan untuk ketebalan plat sangat kecil sekali.

Abstract

The quality of construction is paramount in ensuring the longevity of steel buildings. A primary cause of reduced lifespan in steel structures is the development of corrosion. To mitigate high corrosion rates, careful consideration must be given to the steel fabrication process, particularly coating. This study employs Fishbone, 4M+1E, and 5W+1H cause-and-effect analysis methods to examine the impact of the coating process on the lifespan of steel building structures. By identifying the root causes of various problem factors, the study offers recommendations and proper implementations to address these issues. Discrepancies in the coating process were identified, and several recommendations were proposed based on the root cause analysis. The findings aim to ensure the estimated lifespan of the steel piperack building structure by preventing premature corrosion. The results indicate that coating defects predominantly stem from human factors, and several repair recommendations are provided based on these findings.

Abstract

Motorcycle is one of the two-wheeled vehicles that are often used and we encounter in everyday life. Motorcycles consist of various components and parts that have their respective functions. The engine elements of a motorcycle are designed in such a way as to suit the desired function. Brake is a component or device used to slow down or stop the vehicle through friction. The design of brake components is carried out in order to obtain a design result that is in accordance with the function of the brake component which will later become a recommendation. Several factors in brake design are braking force, torque, braking power, wear volume, life time and materials. From the calculation results obtained the value of braking force (Pv) of 87.5 kg, torque (MR) of 3128 kg.cm, volume of wear 6.75 cm³, service life of 140 hours and with Asbestos Passed Hidraulically and AISI 1045 materials.

Abstract

Pressure vessels are widely used to accommodate pressurized fluids, one of which is to accommodate ammonia with a working pressure of 13 Pa. Pressure vessels use ASTM A516 Grade 70 as raw material. This material has the advantage of being resistant to changes in temperature and good weldability. To make this equipment, a lot of joining processes are used, because the welding process is unavoidable in the construction of joints and the manufacture of processing equipment made of stainless steel. Of the many metal materials, ASTM A516 Gr 70 because of its low carbon content thereby avoiding the possibility of sensitization of the welded components, has good weldability properties because it has high temperature resistance. There are many ways of connecting with welding techniques, one of which is using the Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) technique. (SAW) is a welding process using a submerged arc in flux. The function of the flux is to prevent oxidation, as an alloying element in the chemical composition of the weld metal, as a stabilizer, and as an oxidizer. The welding carried out in this study uses current variations, including 350 A. , 400 A, 410 A san 430 A . Next, a test is carried out from the results of the welding process such as a tensile test tap test. From the test results, it is obtained that the current strength value is suitable to be recommended for the welding process, namely at a current of 400 A seen from the value of the tensile test results and the hardness test. Abstract

Mechanical and control system capable of reading N, G, F, T, and other code instructions. The codes will be instructed to the CNC machine interface system, so that the machine can work in accordance with the program listings that have been made. In general the selling price of this machine is still very high. Therefore, in this study designed a CNC machine with low cost which is intended for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This CNC milling assembly machine has 3 axes that is X, Y and Z axis. In this research, the CNC milling 3 axes machine is consists of several important components such as guide ways, transmission system, driver and controller. These components are widely available in the market. CNC milling machine has dimensions size of machine length of 700 mm x width of 600 mm x height of 1227 mm. the CNC milling machine 3 axes has advantages that can make several types of wood carving products and acrylic. The results of the test where obtained accuracy of CNC milling 3 axes machine for Y axis that was 0.1946 mm and for X axis of 0.2463 mm.

Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi dalam industri manufaktur saat ini mengalami kemajuan pesat, mencakup baik industri besar maupun industri kecil dan menengah. Meskipun beberapa bengkel produksi masih menggunakan metode manual dalam proses pembentukan logam, seperti penekukan plat dengan menggunakan palu dan landasan besi, terdapat pergeseran menuju penerapan teknologi modern. Proses pembentukan logam semakin dioptimalkan dengan penggunaan alat-alat pembentuk yang menggunakan penekan sistem hidrolik, landasan, punch, swage, dan dies untuk menghasilkan profil-profil dengan kepresisian dan tampilan yang unggul. PT. Cipta Unggul Karya Abadi merupakan salah satu produsen yang memanfaatkan teknologi modern dalam Manufactur of Metal Stamping Parts. Mereka menawarkan layanan stamping, pembuatan dies, jig, dan fikture. Dalam konteks ini, penelitian fokus pada proses alur produksi pembuatan produk joint brake rod. Dengan pendekatan ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi, kualitas, dan kecepatan produksi, sekaligus menciptakan produk dengan performa yang optimal dalam industri otomotif.
