Abstract

This research discusses the mini portable power spayer steam jet machine by testing it with a flow meter to find out the specifications. This machine is designed to be easily moved from one place to another. This machine has a pump that can create high water pressure. This steam jet machine can be operated using a DC motor. This machine is usually built with materials that are resistant to corrosion and durable for long-term use. To create a mini portable power spayer steam jet machine that has a simple, cheap, easy to operate and maintain system, this machine must be designed so that easy to move from one place to another, both indoors and outdoors, must be able to produce water vapor at a high enough pressure to clean dirt, the design must consider safety aspects to protect users from injury or potential danger, by designing the machine mini portable power spayer pump with dimensions that match those on the market, realized with real and existing designs and products, by testing with a flow meter, the test was carried out with a spray result of 6 liters/minute according to specifications. Making a design for a mini portable power spayer steam engine pump with an inventor that is realized is the same as choosing a product on the market. The process of testing the mini portable power spayer steam machine with a flow meter measuring tool produces a water jet pressure of 6 liters/minute, when tested with a flow meter spayer gun in a straight water jet pressure position.

Abstract

Butanol is an alternative energy that is being developed to overcome the energy crisis. This is because butanol has a high Octane number and oxygen content so it can optimize engine performance. This research was carried out to determine the impact of adding butanol to Pertamax on gasoline engine performance. The engine used is a 150 cc EFI petrol engine. The fuel uses Pertamax with butanol additive. Testing uses speed variations of 1000 – 3000 rpm. Test results: The performance of the 150 cc EFI petrol engine using the Pertamax-butanol mixture (P95B5) has increased compared to using pure Pertamax fuel (P100). This can be seen from the increase in torque and power with Pertamax-butanol fuel (P95B5) of 3.57 N.m and 1.12 kW, the highest increase at rpm 3000. Engine fuel consumption decreased when butanol was added compared to pure Pertamax (P100). The lowest fuel consumption occurred with Pertamax-butanol (P95B5) fuel at 0.21 ml/s when the engine speed was 100 rpm. Meanwhile, the highest fuel consumption occurred in Pertamax fuel (P100) at 0.62 ml/s when the engine speed was 3000 rpm

Abstract

The development of technology at this time has experienced very rapid progress, one of which is 3D printing technology or also known as additive manufacturing. The data analysis method for the production of dual port injection intake manifold using a 3-dimensional printer, which starts from preparing tools and materials and making or printing the intake manifold dual port injection workpiece using a 3-dimensional printer, then measuring the dimensions of the workpiece print using vernier caliver whether it is in accordance with the design. Steps that must be done in order to be able to carry out the data slicing process in the Slicer software. After everything is done, check and measure whether it is in accordance with the design or not, if it is appropriate, the process is complete. The first step to make the Intake Manifold Dual Port Injection using a 3-dimensional printer is to design the solidwork 2022 software, then save the part file with STL format after that slice the creality slicer software with variable print speed 80mm/s with nozzle temperature 230°C and bed temperature 110°C after slicing then save the slice result in g-code format to SD card then print to Ender 3D Print machine

Abstract

The use of fossil fuels causes air pollution in Indonesia. Biofuel is one of the alternatives often used, one of which is methanol. Methanol has efficient characteristics and low emissions, increases engine performance and thermal efficiency, and reduces fuel consumption. This study aims to observe the concentration of pertamax - methanol addition of 5%, 10%, and 15% on performance, BSFC, and BTE. The percentage of pertamax and methanol fuel mixing is 5%, 10%, and 15%, and the speed used is 1000, 2000, and 3000 rpm. The measurements taken are power, BSFC, and BTE using a dynotest and displayed on a screen. Adding 5%, 10%, and 15% methanol to pertamax increases engine performance. The addition of Pertamax-methanol PM15 increases power by 25% at a speed of 1000 rpm, reduces BSFC by 40% on PM15 at a speed of 2000 rpm, and increases thermal efficiency on PM5 by 73% at a speed of 2000 rpm

Abstract

Alternative fuels are a priority to reduce the problem of fuel stock shortages. Bioethanol has potential because of its octane number specifications, oxygen content, and simple production techniques. Mangrove bioethanol is produced from mangrove fruit, which is non-edible and abundant. This study aims to observe the correlation of Mangrove Biofuel specifications (mixture of gasoline and 5% Mangrove Bioethanol) to Brake Torque and NOx Emissions produced by gasoline engines. Experimental methods are applied, from Mangrove Bioethanol production, octane value, oxygen content testing, and Mangrove Biofuel production to performance and emission testing. The results of the study showed that the correlation of the 101 octane number specifications and 30.31% oxygen content of Mangrove Biofuel increased the highest Brake Torque, reaching 5.45%, and increased the highest NOx emissions up to 6.54% at engine speeds of 5000 rpm.

Abstract

Jurusan otomotif merupakan jurusan yang sangat diminati masyarakat karena dianggap memiliki peluang kerja yang tinggi. Namun, untuk bersaing dan berkompetesi dalam dunia kerja harus memiliki kompetensi yang baik dibidangnya. Pengetahuan dalam menganalisa, merawat dan memperbaiki mesin kendaraan adalah kompetensi dasar yang harus dimiliki lulusan SMK jurusan otomotif untuk dapat mendapatkan kerja. Pengabdian ini  bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada siswa dalam kompetensi motor bakar dan menganalisis kondisi mesin dengan mengukur kadar emisi gas buang mesin menggunakan Gas Analyzer. Pengabdian ini laksanakan di SMK Bina Nusa Slawi, Kabupaten Tegal.  Pelatihan ini memberikan pengetahuan yang lebih mendalam tentang motor bakar dibanding dengan materi yang diberikan di sekolah. Hal ini karena pelatihan ini mengoptimalkan engine cutting dan gas analyzer sebagai media pembelajaran. Selain itu, hasil evaluasi pelatihan menunjukan 50% siswa optimal memahami motor bakar dan 50% siswa lainnya sangat optimal memahami motor bakar. Siswa juga mendapatkan ketrampilan dalam mengukur emisi gas buang motor bakar menggunakan gas analyzer. Dampak positif lainnya adalah guru-guru jurusan TBSM termotivasi untuk memberikan pembelajaran yang lebih baik lagi kepada siswa-siswanya dengan mengoptimalkan trainer yang ada sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

The electric vehicle is a vehicle with a driving source of an electric motor, requiring a battery for the stored energy. Battery packs are widely used as energy storage for electric vehicles. The battery pack is a series of several small batteries arranged in series and parallel so that they have an output voltage and capacity as required. 18650 Lithium battery is the most widely used to make battery packs and used on electric motorcycles. a 18650 Lithium battery has an output voltage of 3.7 V with various capacities such as 1500 mAh, 2000 mAh, 3000 mAh, etc. To design a 48 V 50 Ah battery pack requires a series of 18650 3.7 V 3000 mAh batteries which are arranged 13 pieces in series and 19 pieces in parallel. Before assembling, each 18650 battery must be checked for voltage, the voltage in each 18650 battery must be in the range of 3 ”“ 4.2 V. If it is less than 3 V then it needs to be recharged, if it is less than 2 V then the battery condition is not good. The battery pack discharging test is carried out by loading a BLDC 2000W 48V electric motor until the battery pack voltage drops to 39 V. The discharging process lasts for 13 hours with an average current of 3.5 A. From the test results, the battery pack capacity can be calculated, namely 45.5 Ah.

Abstract

The high octane number and oxygen content of butanol can improve combustion more completely and the residual gas resulting from engine combustion is more environmentally friendly. This study examines the effect of adding 5% to 15% butanol at 5% intervals on a gasoline engine with an EGR system with premium fuel on emissions and exhaust gas temperatures. The exhaust gas analyzer was used to measure the combustion gases. Exhaust gas temperature was measured using a thermocouple mounted on the exhaust manifold. The mixture of P85B15 reduced CO levels by 68.11% and HC by 37.50% compared to P100. However, CO2 emissions and exhaust gas temperatures increased. The use of hot and cold EGR generally increased engine exhaust emissions. However, the exhaust gas temperature decreased by 4.72% when the engine used cold EGR and 1.33% when the engine used hot EGR.

Abstract

Community economic activities that encourage motorized vehicles are getting higher. This exacerbates dependence on fossil fuels and air pollution. The outside air that is contaminated with exhaust gases from combustion products is very dangerous for human health. Motorized vehicles such as motorcycles are the largest cause of air pollution. Alcohols have high octane number and low viscosity. The use of ethanol and methanol alcohols is very diverse, so they are easy to obtain. Therefore, alcohol ethanol and methanol are suitable as premium fossil fuel mixtures. This study aims to observe the CO and HC emission characteristics of the gasoline engine using a premium-alcohol mixture of ethanol, methanol. The alcohol concentration was varied from 5% to 15% at 5% intervals. The petrol engine is operated at 2000, 3000, and 4000rpm. Commercial Gas Analyzers are used to measure CO and HC emissions coming out of the exhaust. The results of the observations present the CO and HC emissions of the engine with premium-ethanol fuel, methanol is lower than pure premium (P100). CO emissions from PE15 fuel decreased to 66,30%, and PM15 decreased to 90,63%. Meanwhile, PE15 fuel HC emissions decreased by 58,94%, and PM15 decreased by 68,60%.

Abstract

Automotive vehicles have increased every year, especially motorcycles, which result in increased air pollution. The use of alternative fuel methanol is one of the solutions to control air pollution. methanol has a high oxygen content so it can improve emissions. This study aims to analyze the use of a mixture of Pertamax and methanol fuel on exhaust emissions using a 150 cc EFI gasoline engine. The percentage of methanol used in the test is 5%, 10%, and 15%. Variation of engine speed from 1000 to 3000 rpm with an interval of 1000 rpm. Measurement of exhaust emissions using a gas analyzer. The addition of methanol to Pertamax fuel reduced HC emission levels at PM15 by 34% at 3000 rpm and CO by 43% at 3000 rpm at PM15, while CO2 and O2 emission levels increased by 23% at 3000 rpm at CO2, mixing PM15 and at O2 emissions of 163% at a speed of 3000 rpm on PM5.
