Abstract

Human behavior is the main goal of education, and the role of parents is crucial in motivating children's learning. To support their children, parents can provide attention, gifts, and rewards. This research aims to find out how parents can motivate their children's learning process, using a qualitative descriptive methodology with interviews and observations. The results show that parents have fulfilled their roles as teachers for their children, although sometimes not perfectly. They motivate their children with praise and guidance, and provide learning facilities such as books and writing tools. However, they also face challenges such as knowledge gaps, financial constraints, and children's traits that can hinder learning, such as laziness and lack of focus.

Abstract

Many parents do not pay enough attention to their children's growth and development. It is not uncommon for many children to experience difficulties in reading and writing. Not a few children who occupy elementary school feel difficult and lag behind lessons because they are less able to read and write properly and correctly. Therefore, parents choose to enroll their children in tutoring as a solution to the problem. Tutoring is a non-formal education platform that helps children in the development of education outside of school hours. One of them is Anak Hebat (AHE) Tutoring. This tutoring offers an interesting and fun way to learn. The existence of learning accompanied by games makes children not easily bored in learning which is only done for 30 minutes per day. This research uses a qualitative approach through data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Researchers want to study more deeply related to improving learning outcomes in the Anak Hebat (AHE) tutoring.

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research examines the application of positive reinforcement to improve the learning quality of broken home students at the Cokroaminoto Islamic Elementary School, Balikpapan. This research aims to understand how positive reinforcement is applied and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. Data was collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, as well as documentation studies. Observed positive reinforcement included verbal praise, applause, and physical contact such as a handshake. The research results show a significant positive impact from implementing positive reinforcement. Having aspirations, sufficient student interest in learning, varied learning methods and student motivation are supporting factors for success. Meanwhile, broken home backgrounds and differences in student characteristics become obstacles. Penelitian kualitatif deskriptif ini mengkaji penerapan reinforcement positif untuk meningkatkan kualitas belajar siswa broken home di Sekolah Dasar Islam Cokroaminoto, Balikpapan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana reinforcement positif diterapkan dan mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung serta penghambatnya. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan guru dan siswa, serta studi dokumentasi. Reinforcement positif yang diamati meliputi pujian verbal, tepuk tangan, dan kontak fisik seperti jabat tangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dampak positif yang signifikan dari penerapan reinforcement positif. Mempunyai cita-cita, minat belajar siswa yang cukup metode pembelajaran yang bervariatif dan motivasi siswa menjadi faktor pendukung keberhasilan. Sementara itu, latar belakang broken home dan perbedaan karakteristik siswa menjadi penghambat.

Abstract

Cooperative learning methods apparently have an important role in realizing good cooperation between students. This research was carried out with the aim of finding out whether there was an increase in learning collaboration in learning that used cooperative methods at SDI Cokroaminoto Balikpapan. This research uses qualitative methods, qualitative research methods are scientific research procedures that produce descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from a process of in-depth communication interaction between the researcher and the phenomenon to be discussed. The instrument for collecting data in qualitative methods is the researcher himself. During data collection, researchers were assisted with interview, observation and documentation guidelines. The results of this research show that the application of cooperative methods greatly increases students' learning cooperation. Metode pembelajaran kooperatif ternyata memiliki peran penting dalam mewujudkan kerjasama yang baik antar siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan apakah ada peningkatan kerjasama belajar dalam pembelajaran yang menggunakan metode kooperatif di SDI Cokroaminoto Balikpapan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, metode penelitian kualitatif adalah prosedur penelitian ilmiah yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari proses interaksi komunikasi yang mendalam antara peneliti dengan fenomena yang akan dibahas. Instrumen pengumpulan data dalam metode kualitatif, adalah peneliti itu sendiri. Selama pengambilan data peneliti dibantu dengan pedoman wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode kooperatif sangat meningkatkan kerjasama belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

The cooperative method in Indonesian learning focuses on student collaboration, encouraging them to work in teams and creating a dynamic learning atmosphere. This study aims to determine the increase in learning cooperation at SDI Cokroaminoto Balikpapan through the application of cooperative methods. The method used is qualitative, with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the application of cooperative methods significantly increases student learning cooperation in Indonesian Language Learning. Metode kooperatif dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia berfokus pada kolaborasi siswa, mendorong mereka untuk bekerja dalam tim dan menciptakan suasana belajar yang dinamis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kerjasama belajar di SDI Cokroaminoto Balikpapan melalui penerapan metode kooperatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode kooperatif secara signifikan meningkatkan kerjasama belajar peserta didik dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the efforts of teacher professionalism in shaping the learning discipline of students at SD Negeri 007 Balikpapan Barat. Learning discipline is a crucial factor in achieving educational goals, but it often presents challenges for some students, especially during the transition from elementary to higher educational levels. Therefore, this study was conducted to explore how teachers at this school manage and motivate students to develop optimal learning discipline. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, and several students selected through purposive sampling. Additionally, data were obtained through direct classroom observations and analysis of documentation related to learning activities concerning student discipline. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis, where the researcher identified emerging themes to describe the teacher's efforts in shaping student discipline. The results show that teacher professionalism at SD Negeri 007 Balikpapan Barat plays a crucial role in forming student learning discipline. Several efforts were made by teachers to create a learning environment that supports discipline. First, teachers demonstrated skills in effective classroom management, such as arranging the classroom, setting clear rules, and consistently enforcing classroom etiquette. Second, teachers employed a personal approach in guiding undisciplined students, including providing motivation and extra attention to students struggling to follow classroom rules. Teachers also emphasized personal responsibility in the learning process by involving students in setting classroom rules and consequences. Additionally, teachers applied positive reinforcement as a strategy to improve learning discipline. Rewards, such as praise and small gifts, were given to students who showed good discipline in their studies. This approach proved effective in motivating students to commit more to maintaining discipline. However, this study also found several challenges faced by teachers, including students coming from families that do not provide sufficient support for discipline and education. Some students from such families struggled to cooperate in maintaining discipline in the classroom. In conclusion, this study suggests that teacher professionalism significantly affects the development of student learning discipline. Efforts made by teachers, such as effective classroom management, personalized approaches, and positive reinforcement, can significantly improve student discipline. However, external challenges, such as lack of parental support, remain factors influencing the final outcome in shaping student discipline. Therefore, collaboration between teachers, parents, and students is essential to create a conducive learning environment that supports sustainable student learning discipline. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis upaya profesionalisme guru dalam membentuk kedisiplinan belajar siswa di SD Negeri 007 Balikpapan Barat. Kedisiplinan belajar adalah faktor krusial dalam mendukung tercapainya tujuan pendidikan, namun sering kali menjadi tantangan bagi sebagian siswa, terutama pada tahap peralihan dari pendidikan dasar ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana guru di sekolah tersebut mengelola dan memotivasi siswa dalam rangka membentuk kedisiplinan belajar yang optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan guru beberapa guru, dan beberapa siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Selain itu, data juga diperoleh melalui observasi langsung di kelas serta analisis dokumentasi terkait kegiatan pembelajaran yang menyangkut kedisiplinan siswa. Proses analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan analisis tematik, di mana peneliti mengidentifikasi tema-tema yang muncul untuk menggambarkan upaya-upaya guru dalam membentuk kedisiplinan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profesionalisme guru di SD Negeri 007 Balikpapan Barat berperan penting dalam membentuk kedisiplinan belajar siswa. Terdapat beberapa upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru untuk menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang mendukung kedisiplinan. Pertama, guru menunjukkan kemampuan dalam pengelolaan kelas yang efektif, seperti penataan ruang kelas, pemberian aturan yang jelas, dan penerapan tata tertib yang konsisten. Kedua, guru juga menggunakan pendekatan personal dalam membimbing siswa yang kurang disiplin, termasuk memberikan motivasi dan perhatian lebih kepada siswa yang kesulitan mengikuti aturan kelas. Guru juga menekankan pentingnya tanggung jawab pribadi dalam proses pembelajaran, dengan cara melibatkan siswa dalam menentukan aturan kelas dan konsekuensinya. Selain itu, guru menerapkan penguatan positif sebagai salah satu strategi untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan belajar. Pemberian penghargaan, baik berupa pujian maupun hadiah kecil, diberikan kepada siswa yang menunjukkan kedisiplinan yang baik dalam belajar. Pendekatan ini terbukti efektif dalam memotivasi siswa untuk lebih berkomitmen terhadap disiplin belajar. Meskipun demikian, penelitian ini juga menemukan beberapa tantangan yang dihadapi oleh guru, di antaranya adalah adanya siswa yang memiliki latar belakang keluarga yang kurang mendukung dalam hal pendidikan dan kedisiplinan. Beberapa siswa yang datang dari keluarga yang kurang memperhatikan aspek kedisiplinan belajar juga cenderung sulit untuk diajak bekerja sama dalam menjaga kedisiplinan di kelas. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa profesionalisme guru sangat mempengaruhi pembentukan kedisiplinan belajar siswa. Upaya-upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru, seperti pengelolaan kelas yang baik, pendekatan personal, serta penguatan positif, dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa secara signifikan. Namun, tantangan eksternal, seperti kurangnya dukungan dari orang tua, tetap menjadi faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil akhir dalam membentuk kedisiplinan siswa. Oleh karena itu, kolaborasi antara guru, orang tua, dan siswa sangat diperlukan untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih kondusif dan mendukung kedisiplinan belajar siswa secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Pengembangan kompetensi profesional pendidik di era digital menjadi hal yang sangat penting seiring dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Era digital menawarkan berbagai peluang dan tantangan baru dalam dunia pendidikan, yang mengharuskan pendidik untuk terus mengembangkan kemampuan dan pengetahuan mereka. Kompetensi profesional pendidik mencakup berbagai aspek, mulai dari penguasaan teknologi, keterampilan pedagogik, hingga kemampuan untuk beradaptasi dengan berbagai perubahan dalam metode pembelajaran. Di era digital, pendidik tidak hanya dituntut untuk menguasai teknologi pendidikan, tetapi juga harus memiliki pemahaman yang baik tentang bagaimana memanfaatkan teknologi tersebut dalam proses belajar mengajar. Pembelajaran yang berbasis teknologi, seperti penggunaan platform pembelajaran daring, media sosial, dan aplikasi pendidikan, dapat memperkaya pengalaman belajar siswa dan meningkatkan interaksi antara guru dan siswa. Selain itu, pendidik perlu terus memperbarui pengetahuan mereka melalui pelatihan dan pendidikan berkelanjutan. Program pengembangan kompetensi yang efektif harus mencakup pelatihan teknologi, pengembangan keterampilan interpersonal, dan peningkatan kemampuan untuk mengelola pembelajaran di lingkungan digital. Penggunaan media digital juga menuntut pendidik untuk lebih kreatif dalam merancang materi pembelajaran yang menarik dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa di abad ke-21. Secara keseluruhan, pengembangan kompetensi profesional pendidik di era digital adalah suatu keharusan untuk menjamin kualitas pendidikan yang relevan dan efektif. Pendidik yang terus berkembang akan mampu memenuhi tantangan pendidikan di masa depan, menjadikan pembelajaran lebih inovatif dan sesuai dengan tuntutan zaman.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi metode bermain peran (role playing) dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia bagi siswa yang mengalami speech delay di MI Al-Ula balikpapan. Speech delay atau keterlambatan bicara sering kali menghambat kemampuan berkomunikasi, terutama dalam konteks pembelajaran bahasa. Metode bermain peran dianggap efektif karena memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk berlatih berbicara dalam situasi yang menyenangkan dan tidak menekan, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa mereka. Dalam penelitian ini, penerapan bermain peran dilakukan melalui serangkaian aktivitas yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan siswa, seperti percakapan sederhana, simulasi situasi kehidupan sehari-hari, dan latihan ekspresi verbal serta non-verbal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode ini siswa MI Al-Ula balikpapan mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa, memperbaiki pengucapan, dan meningkatkan rasa percaya diri mereka dalam menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa metode bermain peran dapat menjadi pendekatan yang efektif dalam mendukung perkembangan bahasa bagi siswa dengan speech delay, serta dapat digunakan sebagai strategi alternatif dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di sekolah.

Abstract

This study explores the growing trend of modern homeschooling as an alternative educational option in the flexible era. Homeschooling offers a personalized approach to learning, allowing parents to tailor the curriculum and teaching methods to suit their child's individual needs, interests, and learning pace. This research examines the motivations behind parents' decisions to choose homeschooling, the learning processes involved, the challenges faced, and the potential impacts on children's development. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation from parents, children, and educators involved in homeschooling practices. The findings highlight the advantages of homeschooling, such as flexibility in learning schedules, personalized education, and the development of independence and critical thinking skills in children. However, challenges like limited resources, time management, and social development were also identified. The study concludes that while homeschooling presents numerous benefits, it requires careful planning, adequate resources, and support from the broader community to be fully effective.

Abstract

In answering the fourth industrial revolution era, basic Islamic education institutions did not adequately apply old literacy (reading, writing, arithmetic), but had to apply new literacy (data literacy, technology literacy and human resource literacy or humanism). This article discusses the challenges and opportunities of basic Islamic education in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. Strengthening new literacy in Islamic elementary education teachers as a key to change, revitalizing literacy-based curriculum and strengthening the role of teachers who have digital competencies. The teacher plays a role in building competency generation, character, having new literacy skills, and high-level thinking skills. Islamic elementary education as a basis for determining intellectual, spiritual, and emotional intelligence in children must strengthen 21st century literacy skills. Start creative aspects, critical thinking, communicative, and collaborative. Islamic elementary education is urgently needed to strengthen new literacy and revitalize digital-based curriculum. Curriculum revitalization refers to five basic values of good students, namely resilience, adaptability, integrity, competence, and continuous improvement. Islamic elementary education educators must be digital teachers, understand computers, and be free from academic illness. The goal is to realize high competency generation, character and literacy to answer the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution era
