Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan yang ingin dicapai adalah: meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan ketrampilan Guruguru KKG SDIT IPHI kota Payakumbuh dalam memahami dan membuat perangkat pembelajaran dan Media Multimedia Interaktif Berbasis Articulate Storyline sehingga dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, dapat meningkat motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa SDIT IPHI kota Payakumbuh. Kegitan PKM yang dilaksanakan di SDIT IPHI kota Payakumbuh dengan jumlah peserta 44 orang Guru-guru KKG SDIT IPHI kota Payakumbuh. Kegiatan pelatihan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) dilaksanakan selama 4 Kali Pertemuan yaitu tanggal 23-24 Juli 2021 secara luring/tatap muka dan Tanggal 4 dan 5 September 2021 secara daring dengan flatfrom ZOOM. Hasil yang diperoleh melalui kegiatan PKM ini dapat dikemukakan sebagai berikut: Pertama, peserta pelatihan 85 % bisa mencari video, materi, gambar, audio dan jurnal pendidikan (teori dan praktek). Kedua, peserta dapat menggunakan aplikasi yang sudah diberikan yaitu Powton dan Articulate Storyline, bisa merancang dan mendesain media pembelajaran berdasarkan mata pelajaran yang mereka ampu.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the kind of difficult aspect in reading comprehension of the descriptive text faced by the students at eighth grade of SMPN 1 Sintoga. The method applied was descriptive quantitative, where the test and questionnaire were used as the instrument of the data. The sample of this study was VIII 2  chosen by using a simple random sampling technique. The test consisted of 30 question items divided into five types of questions: topic, main idea, word reference, location information, reference. Index difficulty and percentage were used to analyze the data. The result of the test showed that the majority of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Sintoga found difficulties including answering topic 76%, main idea 72%, word reference 79%, location information 62%, and reference 80%. The kind of difficult aspect that encountered by the students of SMPN 1 Sintoga was finding main idea questions because the located main idea was difficult to find. As the result, kind of the difficult aspect faced by was in achieving the inference for reading comprehension test

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana implementasi guru dalam mendisiplinkan siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kelas X IPA MAN 3 AGAM. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah wawancara dengan guru bahasa Inggris dan observasi selama praktik lapangan di kelas yang sama dari awal hingga akhir pembelajaran mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan hukuman menyanyikan 1 lagu oleh guru di kelas sangat efektif untuk kedisiplinan mereka.

Abstract

Penyebaran COVID-19 di Indonesia menyebabkan pendidikan di Indonesia mengalami peubahan. Semua sekolah diwajibkan untuk melakukan pembelajaran online untuk mendukung proses belajar mengaar, seperti menyediakan materi pembelajaran dan menyampaikan materi pembelaaran dengan memanfaat teknologi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuii persepsi siswa terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris pada masa pandemi COVID-19 di SMK N 2 Pariaman. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini diambil 62 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket yang dibagikan kepada siswa dengan menggunakan Google Forms. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan langkah-langkah statistik metode kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi siswa yang menggunakan E-Learning secara umum adalah 70,5%, dikategorikan “baik”. Secara rinci ditemukan dalam pencapaian pembelajaran 67,0% tergolong “cukup” Peran guru berada pada kategori “Cukup” dengan 67,3%. Peran siswa berada pada kategori “Cukup” dengan 68,8%. Dan materi pembelajaran menggunakan Media E-Learning dalam kategori “Baik” dengan persentase 78,9%. Disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris sudah berjalan dengan cukup baik menurut persepsi siswa. Meskipun, banyak ditemukan permasalahan-permasalahan dalam mengimplementasikan Pembelajaran. Namun, Guru Bahasa Inggris di SMK N 2 Pariaman sudah berusaha menyelenggarakan Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan cukup baik dalam persepsi siswa.

Abstract

This research  describes the results of the evaluation of the child-friendly Pesantren program in West Sumatra Province. The model used by CIPP is the Mixed Method. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observation sheets, interviews, concept mastery tests and guidelines for child-friendly Islamic boarding schools. Data analysis and program evaluation procedures are described in this article. The results of the context evaluation show that violence, discrimination and harassment still occur in the average Islamic boarding school in the province of West Sumatra. The results of the input evaluation show that the guidelines for the child-friendly pesantren program issued by the Ministry of Religion, the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia have not been optimally socialized and the pesantren leaders, asatidz councils, students and the community are aware of the existence of a child-friendly pesantren program but do not yet understand the concepts, guidelines and technical instructions for child-friendly pesantren. The results of the process evaluation, namely monitoring designed to reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the implementation of the child-friendly Islamic boarding school program have not been optimal. Not all Islamic boarding schools have a child-friendly boarding school development team. For pesantren that already have a child-friendly pesantren team, the team members do not yet have the relevant competencies. Evaluation of products or outputs and results designed to assess program results and program sustainability shows that the child-friendly Islamic boarding schools program launched and developed by the government and Islamic boarding schools have not run as expected.

Abstract

This research aimed to identify gender representation found in English for Nusantara EFL textbook. This research was qualitative research. The data of this research were collected from English for Nusantara EFL textbook specifically for ninth grade. The researchers adopted a framework form Amini & Birjandi (2012) in analysing the data. The researchers focused on some aspects of gender representation such as visibility, firstness, feminine/ masculine generic construction, activity, and occupation. The finding of this research revealed that there is a gender bias between male and female in the textbook. This imbalance suggests a perpetuation of gender biases that can influence learners' perceptions and expectations regarding gender roles. Educators and curriculum developers must recognize the importance of equitable gender representation to foster an inclusive learning environment. Addressing these biases is essential for promoting gender equality and empowering all students, regardless of gender, to envision a wider range of roles and opportunities.

Abstract

This research was aimed at finding out the effect of using (RCRR) strategy towards student’s reading comprehension on narrative text at the ninth grade of UPT SMP Negri 1 Padang Gelugur. The rationality of this research was based on the students’ problems in reading comprehension. Firstly, the students’ achievements on reading comprehension narrative text was still low. Secondly, the strategy taken by the teacher in class was monotonous. Thirdly, the srtudents had difficulties on comprehending the detailed information on narrative text. This research employed quantitative method. In this research, the researcher used purposive sampling. The population of this research was the IX grade students at UPT SMP Negeri 1 Padang Gelugur. The research instrument of this research was reading test, which were tested for pre-test and post-test session. In this research, the researcher used descriptive and inferential statistic to analyzed the data. The result of the research indicated that was significant effect of using RCRR strategy towards students’ redading comprehension. It can be seen from p-value which was smaller than the alpha value(0,000<0,05). It is concluded that, using RCRR strategy gave significant effect towards students’ reading comprehension on narrative text.

Abstract

This research was aimed at finding out the effect of using discovery learning method toward student’s reading comprehension on analytical exposition text in SMA N 1 Payung Sekaki. The rationality of this research was based on the student’s problems in reading comprehension when learning English. First, Students have difficulties in comprehending analytical exposition text. Second, students do not understand the material analytical exposition text. Third, students have lack of motivation in learning This research employed quantitative method. In this research, the researcher used quasi-experimental research design by comparing two classes. The sample of this research was the 11th grade students at SMA 1 Payung Sekaki. The research instrument of this research was reading test, which were tested for pre-test and post-test. The data was analyzed by using SPSS 22. The result of the research indicated that there was significant effect of students reading comprehension between the students who were taught by using discovery learning method and without using discovery learning method. It can be seen from the calculation of the data in one sample t test and paired sample t-test it showed the significance of 2-Tailed was 0,000 < 0,05 so that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. It can be concluded, there is significant effect of using discovery learning method.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the application of the Think-Pair-Share model in improving students' communication skills at Pondok Pesantren Ashaabul Yamin. Although many schools apply this model, this study found some errors in its application in the school. One of them is that the teacher did not follow the correct sequence and did not have a significant impact on students' communication skills. The study used a qualitative descriptive method with the participation of 1 teacher and 31 students. Data was collected through observation with 11 activities that reflect the application of Think-Pair-Share to students' communication skills. The results showed that although the lesson plan described the application of Think-Pair-Share as a learning model, the teacher did not follow the plan. In addition, the teacher also did not adhere to the correct indicators, as seen from the observation data. However, at the sharing stage, the teacher succeeded in improving students' communication skills, especially when students shared the results of their group discussions in front of the class.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the factors that caused some students to have high IQ but low English reading achievement and vice versa. The research aimed to find out what factors caused students to have high intellectual intelligence but low reading achievement and vice versa. This type of research was a qualitative method with a case study research design. Participants in this research were grade VIII students at SMPN 4 Bukittinggi, and using purposive sampling techniques, the researchers selected 9 participants for this research. The instruments used in this research were interviews and observations checklist of students. The results of the analysis showed that there were two factors that caused students to have high IQ but low English reading achievement and vice versa. This could be seen from the results of interviews and observation checklists with students, namely internal factors are physiological, intelligence, talents, interests, student activity during the learning process, and also external factors, namely the role of parents, teachers, learning media, infrastructure, curriculum, school time, and mass media. It can be concluded that the factors causing students to have high IQ but low achievement in learning English and vice versa were internal and external factors, and were also supported by aspects of student activity in the English learning process.
