Abstract

Flooding is a natural phenomenon that commonly occurs in areas with and happens all the time which result in causing loss of life and property. The village of Sirau is one such area in Banyumas Regency that frequently experiences flooding. Children are a vulnerable group during disasters. Their vulnerability is due to a limited understanding of disaster risks in their surroundings, resulting in a lack of preparedness to face disasters. Understanding disaster preparedness can reduce the negative effects of disasters. Also, recognizing the risk of disasters, raising awareness and reducing disaster risks is essential. Risk reduction can be achieved through flood disaster preparedness education in schools. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of flood disaster preparedness puzzle education on the knowledge level of students at MI (Islamic Elementary School) Fathul Ulum Sirau. The research employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The sample for this research consisted of 32 respondents. The study was conducted at MI Fathul Ulum Sirau, Kemranjen District, Banyumas Regency. A purposive sampling technique was used for sample selection. Data collection was done using a knowledge questionnaire sheet. This research demonstrates an increase in knowledge after the education intervention. Before education, the mean score was 19.22, with a minimum score of 14 and a maximum score of 19. After the education, the mean score increased to 22.31, with a minimum score of 22 and a maximum score of 24. The Wilcoxon test result (p-value = 0.000) is significant. It can be concluded that puzzle games effectively convey disaster preparedness knowledge to students at MI Fathul Ulum Sirau.

Abstract

Menstrual hygiene is a woman's cleanliness during menstruation to prevent diseases and enhance well-being. Health education is necessary to improve adolescent girls' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding menstrual hygiene. The study aimed to determine the effect of health education using lecture and booklet methods on the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of menstrual hygiene among female SMK Negeri 1 Kalibagor students. This quantitative research used a pre-experimental method. The design employed the one-group pre-post-test design. The sample consisted of 50 female students selected through Probability Sampling and Simple Random Sampling techniques. The research results indicated improved knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to menstrual hygiene using lectures and booklets before and after health education. There were differences in knowledge (p=0.00), attitudes (p=0.00), and behaviors (p=0.00) of adolescent girls regarding menstrual hygiene before and after the intervention. The "Clean Menstruation, Disease Goes Away!" booklet has a significant effect on the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of female students of SMK Negeri 1 Kalibagor regarding menstrual hygiene.

Abstract

Injuries can occur anytime and anywhere and can be experienced by anyone. Common types of injuries that occur in daily life are muscle injuries, such as sprains, fractures, dislocations, and bruises. Muscle injuries that are not promptly and correctly treated can result in complications and disrupt daily activities. The management of muscle injuries involves the RICE Management approach, which includes rest, applying cold compresses, compression, and elevating the injured area. Community service is carried out through lectures and simulations on RICE Management. This activity was attended by 32 participants, consisting of health volunteers. During the implementation, participants were cooperative and able to explain the definition, signs and symptoms, complications, and practice the management of muscle injuries using RICE Management.
