Abstract

Although restrictions on religious freedom are stipulated in the Qanun, However, judging from modern legal science, both state law and international law, there is no formal law that regulates the sanction of converting, namely apostate fingers. Unlike Aceh, as an Islamic sharia region, Aceh has its own qanun where apostates will be subject to sanctions in the form of flogging, fines, imprisonment, and coaching to re-embrace Islam. This regulation is certainly a serious topic both from the perspective of Islamic and national legal authorities, especially how human rights institutions both locally and nationally respond to it. This article is classified as literature research with a qualitative approach. The methodology used is a comparative study of law, especially between conventional law and Aceh Qanun. The results of the study concluded that sociologically, regarding freedom of religion in Aceh Province, it does not conflict with international human rights because the uqubat ta'zir given to perpetrators is approved by all levels of Acehnese society. Precisely if uqubat ta'zir is not given to the perpetrators of apostate jarimah, then the stability of security and religious order in the province is shaken, and minorities, namely people of religions other than Islam, do not feel oppressed by the sociological impact of the law applied by the people of Aceh.

Abstract

The world of education is experiencing a character crisis in students due to the COVID-19 pandemic, when face-to-face learning is implemented, several cases such as conflict, violence, juvenile delinquency, sexual harassment, and bullying begin to appear in the school and community environment. This is almost felt in all schools, including SMA Al Azhar Menganti Gresik. This study aims to describe the implementation and implications of character education in PAI subjects in the independent curriculum which refers to dimension 1 P5 at Al Azhar Menganti Gresik High School. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were obtained through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques through data collection, reduction, presentation, and verification of data. The results showed that the implementation of character education in PAI subjects was good. The integration of teaching tools with P5 dimensions, especially dimension 1, can improve character-building in students. School culture also supports the improvement of character building in students. Supporting factors include the concern of the principal, MGMPS PAI, subject teachers, infrastructure, school, and extracurricular programs. The inhibiting factor in the formation of student's character is the limited communication between teachers, cottage caregivers, and students' guardians, and the lack of a sense of discipline of students or teachers in reminding students who are not good.

Abstract

Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Elementary School) faces the challenge of balancing preserving Islamic values with the demands of secular modernity in education. This gap creates a dilemma between educational goals focused on spirituality and morality and the need to meet the increasingly evolving global education standards. This study examines how Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) integrates Islamic values into learning while remaining relevant to modern educational demands. The method used is qualitative, with case studies conducted at several Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Indonesia. Data was collected through interviews with school principals, teachers, and students and direct observation of classroom activities. The findings show that madrasahs have successfully implemented learning innovations such as using technology, project-based approaches, and strengthening community involvement. These innovations allow the integration of Islamic values with secular subjects without compromising religious principles. This holistic learning focuses on character development, critical skills, and forming student identities that balance spiritual and intellectual aspects. The discussion of these findings reveals that the success lies in the madrasahs’ ability to adapt the curriculum to support students’ moral and intellectual development while preparing them to face modern world challenges. This study shows that madrasahs can produce a generation that is religiously deep and ready to compete in the global educational arena.
