Abstract

The teacher professional development program in Nepal is an ambitious initiative designed to support teachers' professional growth. Organizational support and teacher engagement are of the utmost importance to ensure professional development. This study signifies the role of organizational support in enabling professional development and engaging teachers in teacher growth and development. This study aims to propose and rest an integrative model that views organizational supoort practices as a synergistic component that influences the sustainbility of teacher engagement. Survey-based cross-sectional data were collected from secondary schools in Kathmandu Valley using a structured questionnaire to teachers for this non-experimental correlational research design. Likert scales were used to express the perception-based data quantitatively and analyzed using regression models. This study confirms that organizational support procedures strongly influence professional development, highlighting organizational support as a moderator between teacher engagement and professional development. Organizational support also contributes to improving organizational performance. These practices are standard in Nepal schools but at a moderate level. However, schools are run for the benefit of one person only, so schools must be institutionalized with standard norms and values of participatory practices.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the effects of risk management strategies on the success of construction projects in Myanmar, a country with a rapidly expanding construction industry that has received little scholarly attention. Using a combination of traditional paper-based surveys and online questionnaires, a comprehensive dataset has been compiled for this study. The participants, which included project managers, project engineers, safety engineers, financial experts, and project proprietors, played a crucial role in providing diverse perspectives. From the initial sample of 500 questionnaires, a response rate of 84.6 percent yielded 397 valid responses. Using Smart PLS as a data analysis instrument, the study deconstructed risk management into its fundamental components: identification, analysis, response, and monitoring. In addition to the immediate effects, the study reveals the intermediate roles played by financial performance and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) issues. The findings indicate a correlation between the implementation of effective risk management strategies and the overall success of construction projects. The intermediate effect of financial performance and HSE performance strengthens the relationship between these variables. This research offers significant academic and practical insights by providing evidence-based strategies to improve risk management practices in Myanmar's rapidly developing construction industry.

Abstract

Abstract: Engineering management is a multidisciplinary field that combines technical knowledge with management skills, aiming to efficiently develop and execute engineering projects. The increasing complexity of modern projects and the dynamic environment in which they are executed have led to the development of various tools, methodologies, and best practices to improve project outcomes. This paper reviews the literature on engineering management, discussing its challenges, emerging trends, and best practices. The findings reveal that effective engineering management is crucial for achieving project success and that organizations must adapt to the rapidly changing landscape.

Abstract

The digital transformation of education, accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, has spurred widespread adoption of e-learning platforms globally, with Learning Management Systems (LMS) at the forefront. Despite the enhanced communication channels they offer, LMS implementation can introduce unique challenges in the educational arena. This study explores the impact of LMS on the learning process in Myanmar's education system from a student's perspective, focusing on five key factors: convenience, emotional engagement, technological barriers, assessment effectiveness, and cost. A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed to students who had used an LMS, with 264 valid responses received. These were analyzed using SPSS software, revealing significant correlations between all five factors and the learning process, with assessment effectiveness demonstrating the strongest relationship. The results provide valuable insights into how LMS can be optimized to support the learning process in the context of Myanmar's education system, indicating a need for educators and LMS developers to consider these factors for more effective e-learning experiences.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism in Myanmar faces mounting challenges from political instability, economic volatility, social pressures, and technological limitations. While these PEST factors shape tourism outcomes, limited research has explored how institutional capacity mediates their impact in fragile national contexts. This study examines the interplay between external pressures and institutional responses to understand pathways toward sustainable tourism development in Myanmar. A qualitative research design was employed, drawing on semi-structured interviews with 20 stakeholders across Myanmar’s tourism sector, including policymakers, operators, and community leaders. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s six-phase thematic analysis to identify patterns related to PEST factors, institutional capacity, and sustainability outcomes. Findings reveal that political and economic instability are the most critical barriers to tourism development, compounded by labor migration, cultural neglect, and weak technological infrastructure. Despite these challenges, institutional capacity expressed through community engagement, workforce training, and adaptive strategies emerged as a key mediator in mitigating external pressures. Discussion/Implications: The study contributes theoretical insights by demonstrating the mediating role of institutional capacity in volatile environments and provides practical recommendations for strengthening governance frameworks, fostering public-private partnerships, and enhancing technological investment. These implications are relevant for policymakers and practitioners seeking to build resilience and advance sustainable tourism not only in Myanmar but also in similarly fragile contexts.

Abstract

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a severe illness affecting middle-aged and geriatric male patients. This disease normally occurs at the age of 40 or above and is also associated with sexual dysfunction. Alpha-blockers and 5α-reductase inhibitors are the preferred drugs practiced to treat BPH. However, invasive surgical therapy remains the gold standard for managing the condition in the case of refractory and intricate BPH conditions. Due to the fear of sexual dysfunction and the detrimental influence on their quality of life, most patients seek to avoid synthetic drugs and surgery. For this reason, several patients turn to phytotherapy and other alternative therapies. The authors looked at the existing perceptions of epidemiology, etiology, and pathophysiology associated with BPH in this review article. In addition, this article contained basic information on the pathological roles of inflammation in BPH and various diagnoses and treatment options. It was well reported that the administration of medicinal herbs played a vital role in managing BPH. In recent years, many researchers worldwide have reported the efficiency and safety of phytochemicals in managing numerous pathological disorders in-vivo and in-vitro conditions and the prevention of illness.

Abstract

Various images from massive image databases extract inherent, implanted information or different examples explicitly found in the images. These images may help the community in initial self-screening breast cancer, and primary health care can introduce this method to the community. This study aimed to review the different methods of abnormal mass detection in digital mammograms. One of best methods for the detection of breast malignancy and discovery at a nascent stage is digital mammography. Some of the mammograms with excellent images have a high intensity of resolution that enables preparing images with high computations. The fact that medical images are so common on computers is one of the main things that helps radiologists make diagnoses. Image preprocessing highlights the portion after extraction and arrangement in computerized mammograms. Moreover, the future scope of examination for paving could be the way for a top invention in computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) for mammograms in the coming years. This also distinguished CAD that helped identify strategies for mass widely covered in the study work. However, the identification methods for structural deviation in mammograms are complicated in real-life scenarios. These methods will benefit the public health program if they can be introduced to primary health care's public health screening system. The decision should be made as to which type of technology fits the level of the primary health care system.
