Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan bimbingan belajar kepada anak-anak di Panti Asuhan Wanita Muhammadiyah Kota Sungai Banyak serta membantu anak-anak untuk dapat mengulang materi yang dipelajari di sekolah. Jumlah peserta PKM terdiri dari 21 mahasiswa. Diantaranya adalah 4 siswa SD, 10 siswa SMP, 5 siswa SMA, dan 2 siswa yang sedang mempersiapkan studi ke perguruan tinggi. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari 3 tahapan yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Kegiatan bimbingan belajar bagi siswi di Panti Asuhan Sungai Bawah Putri Aisyiyah mendapat respon yang baik dari Ketua Yayasan Panti Asuhan Yatim Piatu Muhammadiyah Putri Sungai Banyak dan anak-anak asuh sangat antusias dalam mengikuti proses selama bimbingan berlangsung. Setelah bimbingan belajar dilaksanakan sesuai jadwal yang telah ditentukan maka anak asuh (siswa) mampu memahami materi yang diberikan, menyelesaikan soal dengan baik dan meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam belajar.   Kata kunci: bimbingan belajar, panti asuhan   Abstract  This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to provide study guidance to children in the Muhammadiyah women's orphanage in Sungai Banyak City as well as helping children to be able to repeat the material learned at school. The number of PKM participants consists of 21 students. Among them are 4 elementary school students, 10 middle school students, 5 high school students, and 2 students who are preparing to study at university. The implementation method consists of 3 stages, namely the preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. The tutoring activity for female students at the Sungai Bawah Putri Aisyiyah Orphanage received a good response from the Chairman of the Sungai Banyak Orphanage Muhammadiyah Putri Orphanage Foundation and the foster children were very enthusiastic in participating in the process while the tutoring was carried out. After the tutoring is carried out according to the predetermined schedule, the foster children (students) are able to understand the material provided, solve questions well and increase student motivation in learning. Keywords: Tutoring, Orphanage.

Abstract

Komunikasi adalah proses penyampaian ide dari satu pihak ke pihak lain dengan tujuan memengaruhi sikap atau perilaku. Ilmu komunikasi mempelajari cara berkomunikasi secara efektif melalui berbagai media, baik lisan maupun tulisan. Mitos bahwa ilmu ini hanya untuk orang yang pandai bicara adalah keliru. Dengan minat dan kemauan belajar, siapa pun bisa menguasainya. Fasilitas laboratorium seperti TV, radio, fotografi, hingga media digital turut mendukung pembelajaran. Salah satu peminatan dalam ilmu komunikasi adalah jurnalistik, yang menekankan keterampilan di media cetak dan elektronik. Keterampilan public speaking menjadi penting dalam dunia komunikasi. Banyak orang merasa gugup berbicara di depan umum karena kurang percaya diri, penguasaan materi, atau pengaruh budaya. Padahal, public speaking merupakan kemampuan yang dapat dilatih melalui kegiatan seperti storytelling dan permainan peran. Pelatihan public speaking diberikan kepada ibu-ibu PKK Kota Sungai Penuh untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan keterampilan berbicara mereka. Kegiatan ini dimulai dari identifikasi masalah, survei, hingga pelatihan langsung. PKK sendiri merupakan gerakan pemberdayaan keluarga yang berfungsi sebagai mitra pemerintah dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa para peserta sangat antusias dan dapat menerapkan ilmu yang diperoleh dalam berbagai kegiatan formal maupun non-formal. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan public speaking tidak hanya menambah pengetahuan, tetapi juga memberdayakan perempuan dalam kehidupan sosial dan organisasi.

Abstract

Sungai Liuk is an area that has various traditions, one of which is baseloa. Baseloa is a tradition carried out when one of its community members wants to make a house foundation, this tradition is still carried out by the people of Sungai Liuk until now. This research aims to explore what character education values are contained in baseloa activities in the Sungai Liuk community; in addition, it is also to see how the development of this tradition so that it can be preserved until now which will later become a character or moral for the local community of Sungai Liuk.The method used in this research is the historical method. The results showed that character education can be formed from the local wisdom of the local community, this is because in the implementation of certain traditions there are special rituals that are usually carried out by the community. So that from this habit, an attitude or behavior is created which will increasingly form a community character. In this case, the baseloa tradition of the Sungai Liuk community contains character education values, namely religious, tolerance, democratic, love for the country, friendly/communicative, and social care that need to be instilled in the nation's next generation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a reading learning model based on interactive storytelling integrated with AI and gamification to improve elementary school students’ reading literacy. The research background stems from the low reading literacy performance of Indonesian students as reported by PISA 2022 and the dominance of conventional teaching methods with limited innovation. The research method applied was R&D using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The subjects consisted of 80 elementary school students in Kerinci Regency, comprising 40 lower-grade students and 40 upper-grade students. Research instruments included reading literacy tests, motivation questionnaires, and student engagement observation sheets. The results indicated that the developed model was valid, with expert validation scores averaging 92% (content), 90% (media), and 88% (language). In terms of practicality, teacher responses (86%) and student responses (89%) confirmed that the model was easy to implement. Effectiveness testing revealed a significant improvement in literacy scores from a pre-test average of 63 to a post-test average of 82, with a gain score of 0.61 (moderate to high category). The integration of AI provided adaptive feedback tailored to students’ abilities, while gamification enhanced students’ motivation and active engagement in reading activities. Therefore, this model offers an innovative alternative to strengthen elementary students’ reading literacy in the digital era and Society 5.0.
