Abstract

Efforts to develop artworks from student study projects at the FBS UNNES Department of Fine Arts which choose collage art are very interesting when applied to tottebag, as a creative product. After going through observations and various considerations, collage artworks that have been worked on as student study projects will be more economically valuable, and become creative products. So that the work can collaborate into handmade products with archipelago images. Because the material used in making these products uses batik patchwork with designs that utilize Indonesian decorative motifs, especially in developing the tourism potential of Semarang. Thus the use of collage art as a creative product for the development of student study project works can be a research that discusses inspirational and innovative methods of development. Keywords: study projects, creative products, collage art

Abstract

Eksistensi UMKM semakin mengkhawatirkan ditengah pesatnya pasar global. Salah satu UMKM yang masih produktif adalah UMKM kerajinan blangkon di Potrojayan, Surakarta. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan limbah hasil dari kerajinan blangkon untuk dilakukan daur ulang guna menghasilkan produk masker yang bernilai ekonomi dan sangat dibutuhkan di era pandemi saat ini. Penelitian merupakan penelitian eksploratif. Teknik pengumpulan dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Tahap pertama, peneliti melakukan observasi dan wawancara terhadap identifikasi hasil limbah kain dan identifikasi kondisi tempat kerja perajin blangkon di Potrojayan, Surakarta. Responden yang dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yaitu sudah memiliki pengalaman kerja minimal 10 tahun sebagai perajin blangkon. Tahap kedua, peneliti membuat rancangan dan pembuatan produk masker hasil limbah kain batik. Draft atau konsep rancangan masker dibuat dengan ukuran panjang mencapai 17 cm dengan lebar 10 cm. Tali pengikatnya dibuat menjadi dua jenis tali, berupa earloop dan headloop. Tali earloop didesain dengan ukuran panjang 35 cm, sedangkan tali headloop didesain dengan ukuran panjang tali konektor 10 cm dan tali tunggal headloop dengan panjang 15 cm. Peneliti memutuskan untuk mengembangkan desain headloop karena sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna, dapat digunakan di telinga maupun dapat digunakan dengan cara diikat bagi pengguna berhijab.

Abstract

Ornamen adalah hiasan berupa pola-pola yang sengaja dipakai untuk memperindah dan menghasilkan keserasian pada benda maupun pada suatu tempat. Salah satu benda yang memiliki hiasan ornamen adalah Lawang Bledheg. Lawang Bledheg sendiri merupakan unit pintu yang memiliki ukiran bermotif yang memiliki makna. Melalui makna motif pada Lawang Bledheg inilah penulis terinspirasi untuk memilih berkarya seni lukis dalam menyelesaikan proyek studi. Tujuannya agar pesan yang terkandung dalam lukisan yang terinspirasi dari makna motif pada lawang bledheg dapat disampaikan oleh penulis kepada masyarakat umum. Teknik yang digunakan penulis dalam berkarya seni adalah sapuan kuas dan goresan krayon. Dalam pengumpulan data, penulis menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah berupa informasi mengenai Lawang Bledheg dan delapan motif serta maknanya yang ada pada Lawang Bledheg. Motif-motif tersebut diantaranya: motif kepala naga, motif jambangan, motif sulur-suluran, motif tumpal, motif semburan api, motif mata naga, motif camara dan motif stupa. Dari delapan motif tersebut menghasilkan delapan karya yang berjudul Wasilah, Sugih Asih, Rukun, Gayutan, Kauripan, Ngurmati, Kayon, dan Prasaja. Keseluruhan karya menonjolkan karakter yang didistorsi dan memiliki corak dekoratif yang menjadi cirikhas penulis. Penulis berharap pada masyarakat umum khususnya para pemuda lebih peduli dan tahu keberadaan dengan benda-benda bersejarah yang ada disekitarnya. Dengan begitu benda bersejarah yang ada disekeliling kita dapat terjaga dan terlestarikan.

Abstract

Permainan tradisional egrang merupakan kebudayaan Bangsa Indonesia yang memiliki nilai kebudayaan kerja keras dan tekun. Kerja keras dan tekun merupakan sifat – sifat yang penting untuk dimiliki setiap orang di jaman sekarang ini yang lebih senang dengan hal – hal yang sifatnya instan. Tingginya nilai - nilai yang dimiliki oleh permainan tradisional egrang memberikan inspirasi penulis untuk membuat karya komik. Tujuan proyek studi ini adalah sebagai sarana penuangan ide penulis terkait permainan tradisional egrang menggunakan media karya komik. Selain itu proyek studi ini diharapkan mampu memberikan informasi dan edukasi terkait permainan tradisional kepada banyak orang sehingga ekistensi permainan tradisional egrang dapat meningkat. Teknik yang digunakan dalam berkarya komik pada proyek studi ini adalah teknik hybrit atau kombinasi teknik manual egrang dan digital. Proses pembuatannya melalui tahapan pra produksi, produksi dan pra produksi. Hasil dari proyek studi ini adalah sebuah karya komik yang terinspirasi dari permainan tradisional egrang yang terdiri dari tiga bagian yaitu bagian pertama yang berisi tentang proloq cerita, bagian dua tentang cara bermain permainan tradisional egrang dan bagian ketiga tentang cara membuat egrang. Dalam upaya meningkatkan eksistensi permainan tradisional egrang karya komik yang telah dibuat dipublikasikan melalui media sosial dan dipamerkan di galeri B9 Unnes. Saran dari penulis (1) Desain karakter yang baik akan sangat mempermudah proses pembuatan karya komik. (2) Pemilihan palet warna dengan lebih serius dan matang. (3) Gunakan jenis pen yang sesuai dan mudah digunakan (3) Kelompokkan layer secara rapi dan informatif pada aplikasi menggambar komik sehingga memudahkan proses revisi karya.

Abstract

  Togetherness in community life is a very important thing to do. In addition to being able to create a sense of mutual respect and care for others, togetherness is also an implementation of the values of Pancasila which are the basis and philosophy of life of the Indonesian people. Various ways can be done to create a sense or atmosphere of togetherness. Training activities and making creative crafts are one example. The purpose of holding this activity is as an effort to strengthen the values of Pancasila for the people of Wonosari Village, Bawang District, Batang Regency. The method used in implementing this service is in the form of training and mentoring. Creative crafts that are used as training materials are knitting key chains, sewing tote bags, and dyeing fabrics using tie and dye techniques or commonly known as "Shibori". The benefits of holding this training activity are to introduce the people of Wonosari Village to various types of creative crafts such as knitting and "Shibori". In addition, this training is also held as a forum for instilling the values of Pancasila, namely unity and togetherness to the villagers.

Abstract

Printed shirt vendors in Kudus have always produces the same Menara Kudus Mosque, a religious tourist attraction, graphics such that they were no longer appealing and able to boost their sales. They were not able to deliver designs that are fashionable, visually communicative, and novel given their lack of knowledge and skill of contemporary and creative designs. The casework, as discussed in this paper, served to enable and fortify printed shirt graphic designing skills, particularly to produce designs that are fashionable. This program was conducted at the Fastriver store or production house in Kudus and was intended for vendors of screen-printed shirts in Kudus with the main partners being Fastriver and Passive Clothing. Of the vendors, there were 12 individuals that participated in the program. Owners, designers, and workers of the local vendors were involved so as to synergistically generate and develop creative ideas. The implementing team consisted of three UNNES art lecturers assisted by three students and one community service staff. The team coordinated with the Kudus Regency Culture and Tourism Office, Fastriver, Passive Clothing, LP2M UNNES, as well as design experts to ensure the activity could take place effectively. The program took form as a design workshop, which delivered a theoretical introduction to design and practical design activities. The workshop was carried out 3 times totaling to approximately 8 hours. The first workshop explicated the meaning, function, history, visual elements, design principles, methodology, and typology of contemporary shirt designs. Workshops 2 and 3 were focused on shirt designing practical accompanied by internal and external critical evaluations of what had been put into practice. The program provided an understanding of design concepts as well as intense and guided exploratory experiences in utilizing local idioms and presenting them in a manner that is contemporary. Out of the program, the participants were able to increase their sense and creativity in designing shirts, producing 20 designs on paper (2-dimensional prototypes) and 2 ready-made shirts (3-dimensional prototypes). The 20 two-dimensional prototypes were revised after being critically evaluated by the public (visitors), souvenir sellers, and design experts. Evaluation was done so that the designs produced were appropriate, relevant and marketable in the market.

Abstract

Pada Era Industri generasi keempat, Masyarakat diharapkan menjagakeseimbangan penguasaan teknologi dengan nilai nilai kebudayaan, kearifan lokal, danspirit adi luhung bangsa. Sementara itu, ujaran kebencian dapat merusakkeseimbangan tersebut. Pembuatan ilustrasi sejarah berdirinya Kerajaan Majapahityang di adaptasi dari buku Naskah Negarakertagama ini bertujuan untuk menjadisarana yang efektif dalam menyampaikan informasi dan nilai-nilai kearifan lokalkepada masyarakat. Proses berkarya meliputi: (1) Pra Produksi, (3) Produksi, (3)Paska Produksi. Pada tahap produksi media yang digunakan adalah Digital Painting,dilakukan mulai dari pembuatan sketsa ilustrasi dengan mempertimbangkan prinsipprinsip desain. Penulis menghasilkan ilustrasi buku berjudul “Sejarah BerdirinyaKerajaan Majapahit Berdasarkan Naskah Negarakertagama pupuh 44-45” denganrincian karya 16 gambar ilustrasi masing-masing cerita dalam pupuh 44-45 disertai 1halaman teks deskripsi/isi tulisan dalam pupuh 44-45 di setiap halaman ilustrasitersebut. Hasil akhir berupa dummy buku ilustrasi “Sejarah Berdirinya KerajaanMajapahit Berdasarkan Naskah Negarakertagama pupuh 44-45” dengan jumlah 24halaman. Melalui karya ilustrasi buku “Sejarah Berdirinya Kerajaan MajapahitBerdasarkan Naskah Negarakertagama pupuh 44-45", penulis ingin menghidupkankembali nilai-nilai sejarah leluhur dengan menghadirkannya dalam ilustrasi cerita yangdimaksud sebagai upaya untuk membangkitkan rasa kecintaan dan kepedulianterhadap warisan budaya dan karakter bangsa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the visual design strategy applied by Five Monkeys Burger in Instagram content as a means of digital promotion aimed at Generation Z. The approach used is qualitative descriptive. Data was collected through online observation of Instagram content in feeds, stories, and reels, accompanied by documentation studies, literature reviews, and questionnaire distribution to 51 respondents aged 18–25 years to support the findings. The data analysis technique uses the Visual Content Analysis technique. The results showed that the visual strategy of Five Monkeys Burger was consistently displayed through the selection of contrasting color palettes, typography, flat design illustrations, and structured layouts. Observations and questionnaires indicate that this visual approach has succeeded in forming a strong brand identity, attracting the target audience's attention, and increasing user engagement compared to similar competitors. Visual design strategies that are designed adaptively and aligned with audience preferences play an important role in strengthening the effectiveness of digital promotion on social media platforms. This study provides practical implications for MSMEs in building a strong brand identity through planned and consistent visual design.

Abstract

A logo is an essential element in building the visual identity of MSMEs, as it serves not only as an identifier but also as a representation of the values, vision, and mission of a business. However, the current phenomenon shows that most MSMEs still treat logos merely as decorative symbols without understanding their strategic power in shaping brand image and competitiveness. This condition creates a gap between the strategic potential of logos and their practical use in the field. On the other hand, previous studies have largely highlighted the role of logos in strengthening brand image, yet specific research discussing the visual interpretation of MSME logos based on Gestalt theory and semiotics remains limited. In fact, this approach is crucial to understanding how visual elements such as typography, color, and form can be perceived holistically by consumers. This study fills that gap by analyzing the logo of MSME ANTARAKATA through a semiotic and Gestalt theory perspective as a state-of-the-art approach in design analysis. The research focuses on three main elements: capital sans-serif typography that represents a modern and professional impression, a yellow-brown color combination that builds harmony between creativity and trust, and a simple wordmark form that strengthens the clarity of brand identity. The analysis shows that the ANTARAKATA logo successfully creates consistent visual unity, is easy to recognize, and builds emotional attachment with consumers. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of logo design based on visual theory as a branding strategy for MSMEs in facing increasingly intense business competition.

Abstract

World War II (1939-1945) was one of the most influential events of the twentieth century, leaving enduring impacts on global politics, society, and culture. Beyond its devastation, the war has inspired artistic responses that attempt to convey both its trauma and its lessons. Among contemporary practices, digital illustration provides unique opportunities to reconstruct and reinterpret the past through flexible use of visual elements such as color, texture, composition, and atmosphere. This article explores semi-realistic digital painting techniques to represent two pivotal moments of World War II: the German invasion of Poland in 1939, which marked the beginning of the conflict, and Germany’s defeat in Berlin in 1945, which signaled its end in Europe. The creative process followed three stages: (1) historical analysis and concept design, (2) digital production, and (3) presentation to the audience. Historical references, including photographs, military symbols, and battlefield conditions, were utilized to maintain narrative accuracy while still allowing for artistic expression and symbolism. The two works are presented as a visual narrative that traces the war’s trajectory, from its dark outbreak to its symbolic conclusion. By employing contrasting tones, dynamic compositions, and evocative perspectives, the illustrations aim to evoke emotion, encourage reflection, and contribute to the preservation of collective memory. Ultimately, this study highlights the potential of digital illustration not only as a contemporary creative practice but also as a valuable medium for history education, cultural preservation, and interdisciplinary discourse.
