Abstract

This study was motivated by the failure of language learning from traditional methods. This method does not provide a chance for students to practice the language that makes the alinated from the target language. On this basis, Dual-Language Sinking model was developed for language learning which will bridge learning with the daily lives of students to achieve the expected language competencies.This literature review will try to explore what language competencies are needed by students to be said as language competent users and what are the ideal patterns of language learning to develop their language competencies. Finally, the Dual-Language Sinking model will be explained as a offered model to develope language competencies and how to implement the model. The results of this study indicate that competent language users are those who are able to function their language skills and knowledge in their daily activities. To develop students who are competent in language, the learning conditions must be designed as naturally as possible as students' first language environment. This can be achieved by implementing a dual-language sinking as bilingual program. This model uses the target language as the language of instruction in learning and students' daily lives, so that students will develop their language competence through their daily habits.

Abstract

The creation of digital storybooks partly represents teachers’ creativity. This study aimed at exploring the pre-/in-service teachers’ creativity in writing multimodal digital storybooks. The data sources of this study were 8 books written collaboratively by 6 teachers and 13 pre-service teachers after involving in a-six-months mentoring program. The data were collected through documentation, then analyzed using content analysis convention of Krippendorff (2013). The study revealed that aspects of creativity were found in the pre-/in-service teachers’ multimodal digital storybooks.  The creativity was presented through integrating reflection sheet, portfolio assessment, using authentic materials, online worksheet, and online quizzes besides the accommodation of new ideas, the use of graphs/diagrams, tables, images, and videos, besides text, the verbal and visual attractiveness, the use of motivational and inspirational sentences. This study suggests that writing multimodal digital storybooks may influence teachers’ pedagogical and content knowledge as well as teachers’ identity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dibuat untuk mengembangkan instrumen minat belajar mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah pendidikan agama Islam. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (research and design). Sumber data menggunakan data primer. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket sebanyak 38 pernyataan dengan 3 aspek penilaian, yaitu aspek afektif, aspek kognitif, dan aspek perilaku. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan angket dengan skala rating 1 sampai 4. Validator terdiri dari 3 orang ahli bidang pendidikan, yakni Dosen FKIP Untirta. Sampel sebanyak 30 orang responden yang merupakan mahasiswa semester I 2024 kelas 1D program studi Administrasi Publik FISIP Untirta. Analisis data menggunakan uji validitas isi dengan formula Aiken’s V serta intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) untuk uji reliabilitas, sedangkan uji validitas empirik menggunakan analisis product moment dan cronbach’s alpha untuk uji reliabilitas dengan program SPSS versi 23. Hasil penelitian dapat dijelaskan sebagai berikut: (1) hasil uji validitas isi, diketahui dari sebanyak 38 item pernyataan, terdapat 33 item yang memiliki validitas sangat tinggi dan sebanyak 5 item pernyataan yang memiliki validitas tinggi dengan rata-rata validitas isi sebesar 0,930 dengan interpretasi sangat tinggi, dan uji reliabilitas intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) memperoleh nilai average measures sebesar 0,971 menunjukkan reliabilitas instrumen dalam kategori sangat bagus, dan (2) hasil uji empirik mendapatkan hasil validitas dari total sebanyak 38 item, tercatat sebanyak 31 item yang valid dan sebanyak 7 item tidak valid, dan hasil reliabilitas dengan cronbach’s alpha sebesar 0,905 > 0,7 maka instrumen dinyatakan reliabel. Dengan demikian instrumen berupa angket dengan jumlah item sebanyak 31 item yang telah divalidasi tersebut dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan peneliti dalam pengukuran minat belajar mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah pendidikan agama Islam.
