Abstract

Lereng yang tidak stabil menjadi masalah dalam proses pertambangan batubara maupun mineral di ruang terbuka. . Salah satu perusahaan pertambangan yang berlokasi di daerah Kabupaten Paser, Kalimantan Timur yaitu PT. Petrosea. Dimana pada daerah penelitian memiliki beberapa lereng yang sudah ditimbun dan perlu dilakukan evaluasi factor keamanannya agar aktivitas pertambangan selalu berjalan tanpa gangguan. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengevaluasi kestabilan lereng pada penelitian adalah Limit Equilibrium Methode dimana menggunakan uji triaxial material pada timbunan. Pada daerah penelitian didapati timbunan disposal yang memiliki factor keamanan >1,25.

Abstract

Remote sensing using satellites is an efficient and successful alternative for conducting geomorphological studies as important earth information. Known as a tourist area for its beaches and natural water baths. making the research location in the Mandolang District, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province important to research. In this study, a different approach to geomorphological studies was used: DEM data for 3D analysis was used to see various geomorphological images. Bird's eye views from a variety of locations and directions can be provided by the 3D DEM model, which can also obtain height and slope information from Topographic Maps and Slope Maps. The results of the map analysis are then used to produce a descriptive Geomorphological Map where the research area is dominated by a height of 175-350m above sea level and based [19] classification. The research area has three geomorphological units: 21% covers plains with height differences 0-50m and steepness 0-15%; 63.2% covers waves with height differences 50-200m and steepness 15-45%; and 63.2% covers hilly area with height differences 350-500m and steepness more than 45%.

Abstract

Earth science remains relatively unpopular among the general public as a fundamental discipline. School learning relies heavily on rote memorization, leaving little room for exploration and real-life application of earth science concepts. However, geology is crucial in human life, encompassing multidimensional knowledge relevant to sustainable living and utilizing natural resources. To promote the importance of earth science in daily life, a Community Service (PkM) activity was conducted involving students from SMAN 23 Bandung, located in the densely populated area of Antapani, Bandung. The PkM activity focuses on the role of bentonite clay minerals as a clarifier for used cooking oil and as an adsorbent material in facial masks. Training on using bentonite minerals was provided to enable participants to apply them in their daily activities. The evaluation of questionnaires and interactive discussions showed that the PkM successfully increased awareness and provided education about the benefits of bentonite clay in purifying used cooking oil and its application as a soap-making material. Questionnaires given to 20 participants from SMAN 23 Bandung highlighted the importance of socializing environmentally friendly and health-safe earth science concepts. Adopting an integrated approach using locally available bentonite materials to purify bulk cooking oil is recommended, which can lead to more economically valuable products like soap bars.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan di wilayah Rumpin, Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat, yang memiliki keberagaman geologi akibat aktivitas tektonik dan minim penelitian sebelumnya. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengukuran struktur geologi menggunakan kompas geologi dan aplikasi FieldMove Clino, didukung data sekunder berupa studi literatur dan peta digital. Data kekar dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak Stereonet untuk pola distribusi dan perhitungan penyimpangan antara alat ukur. Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata penyimpangan sudut 5,65o dengan simpangan baku 2,87o, menunjukkan akurasi konsisten pada kedua metode. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa kompas geologi dan FieldMove Clino efektif digunakan untuk pengukuran struktur geologi di wilayah kompleks, serta memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan metode analisis geologi. The study focuses on the geological diversity of Rumpin District, Bogor Regency, West Java, an area with limited previous research. Tectonic activity in the region provides critical data for understanding past geological events, reflected in surface landforms like valleys and ridges. Primary data were collected using a geological compass and the FieldMove Clino application, supported by secondary data from GIS analysis and literature studies. Field measurements followed predetermined paths, incorporating photographs and geographic coordinates. Analysis using Stereonet software revealed minor deviations between tools, with an average angle mismatch of 5.65° and a standard deviation of 2.87°. These findings confirm the consistency and reliability of both tools in measuring geological structures. This research highlights the effectiveness of combining traditional and digital tools for accurate field measurements.

Abstract

Kabupaten Tabalong, Kalimantan Selatan, dikenal sebagai salah satu daerah dengan potensi batubara yang cukup signifikan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kondisi geologi dan menganalisis pola sebaran batubara di wilayah tersebut. Data yang digunakan meliputi peta geologi, geomorfologi, data struktur geologi, data singkapan, dan data topografi yang diperoleh dari PT Mahakarya Bangun Persada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daerah penelitian terbagi menjadi dua bentuk lahan, yaitu bentuk lahan perbukitan denudasional bergelombang lemah (D1) dan perbukitan vulkanik tersayat tajam (V1). Secara stratigrafi, wilayah ini terdiri atas tiga satuan batuan yang tersusun dari yang termuda hingga tertua, yaitu satuan batulanau, satuan batulempung, dan satuan batuan andesit. Struktur geologi yang berkembang di daerah penelitian meliputi antiklin dan kekar. Pola sebaran batubara di wilayah ini menunjukkan arah strike barat laut (northwest) dan dipping ke timur laut (northeast). Studi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi dalam kegiatan eksplorasi dan perencanaan tambang batubara secara lebih efisien dan berkelanjutan. Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan, is known as one of the areas with significant coal potential in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the geological conditions and analyze the coal distribution pattern in the area. The data used include geological maps, geomorphology, geological structure data, outcrop data, and topographic data obtained from PT Mahakarya Bangun Persada. The results of the study indicate that the study area is divided into two main landforms, namely weakly converted denudational hills (D1) and sharply incised volcanic hills (V1). Stratigraphically, this area consists of three rock units arranged from the youngest to the oldest, namely siltstone units, mudstone units, and andesite rock units.The geological structures that develop in the study area include anticlines and fractures. The coal distribution pattern in this area shows a northwest strike direction (northwest) and a slope to the northeast (northeast). This study is expected to be a reference in coal mining exploration and planning activities more efficiently and sustainably.
