Abstract

Sumatera Barat merupakan salah satu daerah tujuan wisata nasional, yang memiliki objek dan daya tarik wisata yang beragam dan eksotik, baik alam maupun budaya. Menyadari potensi tersebut, Pemerintah Daerah Propinsi Sumatera Barat menetapkan pariwisata sebagai sektor andalan pembangunan daerah ke masa datang. Bukittinggi, sebagai salah satu daerah tujuan wisata utama Sumatera Barat, mengembangkan aspek fisik sekaligus pembinaan kerajinan bordir, sebagai salah satu bentuk kerajinan lokal yang potensial dijual sebagai souvenir pariwisata. Kerajinan bordir Bukittinggi memiliki motif hias tradisional. Ada tiga bentuk produk bordir Bukittinggi, yaitu pertama, souvenir busana seperti: baju kebaya, baju koko, kaos oblong, selendang dan jilbab. Kedua, Souvenir perlengkapan atau lenan rumah tangga seperti: taplak meja, tatakan gelas, sarung bantal untuk kursi dan seprai. Ketiga Souvenir perlengkapan ibadah berupa mukena untuk shalat. Motif hias yang digunakan adalah motif flora dan geometri. Motif-motif hias ini pada umumnya dikerjakan dengan teknik kerancang. Ada beberapa nama teknik kerancang yang dipakai dalam bordiran ini seperti : (1) kerancang Kursi; (2) kerancang Pahat; (3) kerancang Silang; (4) kerancang Roda-roda/ Lawah; (5) kerancang Sapu; (6) kerancang Sapu di tengah; (7) kerancang kacau/ Batu; (8) kerancang Papan; (9) kerancang balut; (10) kerancang potong; (11) kerancang rel; dan (12) kerancang mata ikan. Dalam sebuah produk bordir digabung berbagai macam kerancang, untuk tujuan variasi, menarik dan indah untuk dipandang. Dalam perkembangannya, motif dan orientasi pemasaran bordir mengalami pergeseran. motif bordir saat ini telah mengikuti selera konsumen, dan pemasarannya tiddak semata pada pasar tradisonal di Bukittinggi melainkan juga diekspor ke manca negara, terutama Malaysia dan Brunei Darussalam.

Abstract

This research discusses the role of the state in counteracting identity politics in Indonesia. This research is a research library research. The researcher tries to collect literature related to the role of the state in counteracting identity politics. The type of this research is library research. Data collection techniques through documentation, literature, mass media. The findings of this paper are as follows, that in counteracting identity politics that occurs in society where identity politics in the name of culture and religion will become a threat to the integrity of the state. The state in this case must play an active role in counteracting identity politics so that it does not develop in society. one of the efforts made by the state is by providing an understanding to the public of the importance of multiculturalism. The plural Indonesian society is a cultural identity and is a gift from God for Indonesian society. This multicultural education needs to be developed by the state so that identity politics does not develop.

Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural country, has a variety of regional cultures that spread from Sabang to Merauke, spread over thousands of islands with various cultures. This order has changed with globalization and the development of science, technology and art (IPTEKS). This has an impact on inequality and injustice in the world of education. Education in general is the provision of knowledge, experience and skills to students so that they can form positive behavior and can build noble character in an effort to shape national civilization by taking into account the values ​​of cultural diversity. Music arts education provides knowledge, experience, and competence through 5 basic components, namely: expression, appreciation, creation, harmony, and beauty which are integrated with multicultural education. This article describes the role of music in multicultural education which can raise awareness and concern in building a multicultural learning community in schools.

Abstract

This study discusses the meaning of the malamang procession in the Nagari Alahan Mati community. The purpose of this study is to describe how the background of malamang at the baralek event in Nagari Alahan Mati and the meaning of the malamang procession at the baralek event in Nagari Alahan Mati. The theory used is symbolic interactionalist theory according to Blummer's understanding. The method used in this study is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. The data collection techniques are field observation, interviews, and documentation. The finding of this study is that the background of malamang at the baralek event came from Sheikh Burhanuddin's accident while conducting a banquet at a community home. The malamang tradition in the Nagari Alahan Mati community occurred in the 1950s. The malamang tradition is carried out by the Alahan Mati community the day before the baralek event, and a week before the host baralek event. Things that must be done, in terms of the division of labor in the malamang tradition is also distinguished by gender, men have the task of finding firewood and reeds for malamang, while women have the task of cooking lamang until cooking. The meanings in every malamang procession include mutual cooperation, silaturrahmi, and kinship.

Abstract

This research discusses the strategies of market traders in increasing sales amidst the rise of online shops. The aim of this research is to explain the obstacles faced by PasaAteh traders amidst the proliferation of online shops as well as the strategies of PasaAteh traders in increasing their sales amidst the current proliferation of online shops. The research method used is qualitative research. Data collected through field observations, interviews and documentation. The theory used is Modernization Theory by Walt Rostow. The findings of this research are that market traders experience obstacles in increasing their business amidst the current rise of online shops. Online shops have had an impact on sales in the market. Technological advances have brought major changes in the marketing realm which has resulted in people preferring to shop online with all the convenience it offers, thus making market traders face obstacles in the form of intense competition, lack of promotion and marketing, changes in consumer habits, limited product availability and product variations. Therefore, market traders must maintain their business and create strategies by updating business models, loyalty and discount programs, improving customer service and increasing products and product variations.

Abstract

Thesis entitled "The Phenomenon of Divorcing a Wife Who Has Died in Nagari Silantai, Sumpur Kudus District, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra Province". The aim of this research is to describe the types and implementation of talaq on deceased wives by husbands in Nagari Silantai, to be able to describe the impact on husbands if they do not perform talaq on their dead wives in Nagari Silantai, and the form of distribution of assets obtained during the marriage. The theory used in this thesis is the Phenomenological theory of Alfred Schutz. The method the author uses is a qualitative method, with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews and communication. In Nagari Silantai there are two divorce cases that are carried out on wives who have died, the first is divorce divorce, and the second, back divorce. Divorce is carried out by the husband when the wife's body is about to be washed, or even before the wife's body is buried. Talak back divorce is carried out when the wife's body leaves the house and goes to the cemetery. Talak back is a divorce that is facing away from each other, talak back is the separation of husband and wife, because they no longer have the same goal. In talak back, the husband will be taken home to his parents' house by his relatives. After the divorce divorce has been carried out, the next step is to divide the assets obtained during the marriage.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the reasons behind lifestyle changes in the Anak Dalam Tribe community in Tanah Grow District, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province. Describe the forms of lifestyle change in the Anak Dalam Tribe community in Tanah Grow District, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province. The research method used is qualitative research. Data was collected through field observations, interviews and documentation. The theory used is the Theory of Social Change according to JL Gillin and JP Gillin (in Soekanto and Budi Sulistyowati, 2015: 261) and the Lifestyle Theory according to Wibowo and Riyadi (in Minarti, 2020: 12). The results of this research show that the background to lifestyle changes in the Anak Dalam Tribe community consists of external factors, namely the natural environment, government and reference groups, as well as internal factors, namely mindset, self-awareness and religion. The form of lifestyle change in the Anak Dalam Tribe community includes four aspects such as clothing, changing clothing from traditional to modern clothing. Residence, change of residence from the forest to a special house. Religion, change of belief from animism to Islam. Education, changes in education from those who did not know formal education to now they have had formal education and know writing.

Abstract

This research discusses "Tourism Village Management and the Economic Impact of the Nagari Pariangan Community." The purpose of this research is to describe the management of the pariangan nagari tourism village and the economic impact of the pariangan community. The theory used in this research is the theory of community participation from Edward Inskeep.  The method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques of observation, interviews and documentation. The findings in this study explain that the management and impact in this tourist village are by increasing human resources for all activists and tourism business actors in Nagari Pariangan, improving and developing tourism objects in Nagari Pariangan, and fostering ummkm in Nagari Pariangan. The impact of tourist villages on the community is an increase in community income through MSMEs and opening up new jobs.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the procession of the oil maantaan tradition as well as changes in the oil maantaan tradition. The theory used in this research is Gillin's Theory of Social Change. The method used in this research is a case study method with a qualitative approach. The results of this research show that the oil maantaan tradition consists of 4 stages. The first stage is maucok (inviting) the nagari community. Second, fill the tray. The third stage is delivering the oil (baggage) from the bako party to the pangka (the baby's parents). At the end of the procession, the oil is handed over to the pangka. However, over time, this tradition has also changed. These changes can be seen from the implementation stage, especially the items brought by the community in this tradition. These items include kerosene which is replaced with long cloth, betel leaves replaced with the use of gulo-gulo, the addition of gold in luggage, and transportation.

Abstract

This study discusses the "Trance Phenomenon in the Kuda Lumping Art Tradition in Jorong Wonorejo, Nagari Lubuk Gadang Selatan, Solok Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province". The purpose of this study is to describe the procession and factors causing kuda lumping players to experience trance in Jorong Wonorejo. This study uses the phenomenological theory by Edmund Husserl, in this study supported by qualitative methods in order to describe the data from the field. The data collection techniques are field observation, interviews (in-depth interviews), and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this study include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that researchers found several processions in the kuda lumping tradition including, the preparation stage, the implementation stage, the event begins, and the last is the healing process, then there are several supporting tools such as, Gendang, Saron, Demung, Saron penyerang, Bonang, Bonang sukses, Kenong, Gong, Mask, Barongan, and the last is Pecut and Kuda- kudaan. There are several factors that influence the trance phenomenon in the kuda lumping tradition. The first factor is the factor of experiencing, the second is the spiritual factor, the third is the song and music factor. There are other interesting things in the form of the transition of endang which was originally fierce to endang with a funny character. This tradition has its own uniqueness, especially the trance phenomenon, which makes the Wonorejo community interested in witnessing this tradition
