Abstract

Abstrack : The objective of this study to know the difference of students writing ability before and after being thought by related picture.  Pre-experimental method was to find applied in this research with one sample group and two test, pre-test and pos-test. The population of this research was basic writing class VIII in SMP Negeri 1 Tonra Subdistrict of Tonra Bone Regency 2018-2019. The total sample of this research was 21 students from one class. Whereas, the result of computation showed that t-observed was 9,71 and t-critical was 2.086 (at 1c.=0.05). It meant that t­ observed was higher than t-critic (9,71 > 2.086). Thus, the null hypothesis was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It meant that there was a significant difference in students' writing ability before and after being taught by using related pictures. So it could be concluded that teaching writing by using related pictures gave better result in improving the students' writing ability of descriptive genre. There is a significant difference eight grade in students' of SMP Negeri 1 Tonra Subdistrict of Tonra Bone Regency writing ability before and after being taught by using related pictures.

Abstract

Abstrak Berdasarkan hasil observasi dari tim Pengabdi di Desa Tacipong, Kec. Amali Kab. Bone, teridentifikasi bahwa mayoritas penduduk berprofesi sebagai petani. Lahan di desa Tacipong didominasi oleh area persawahan dan kebun jagung menjadikan pertanian sebagai sektor utama yang menopang perekonomian desa. Namun, keberadaan Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (OPT) menjadi kendala bagi keberlanjutan pertanian di desa tersebut. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan petani setempat tentang mengidentifikasi OPT yang umumnya menyerang padi dan jagung mereka serta strategi pengendaliannya yang efektif. Metode yang digunakan dalam PKM ini berupa penyuluhan pertanian dengan cara androgogy yaitu menyampaikan strategi pengendalian OPT kepada petani yang umumnya telah berusia lanjut. Pada proses penyuluhan dan diskusi ditemukan OPT yang sering menyerang padi dan jagung meliputi hama seperti penggerek batang, wereng batang coklat, tikus sawah, walang sangit, dan ulat grayak; serta penyakit seperti blas, bulai, dan busuk batang. Strategi pengendalian yang efektif meliputi biopestisida, pestisida sintetis, dan strategi pengendalian hayati. Hasil dari penyuluhan ini mengindikasikan penyuluhan tentang OPT kepada para petani di desa Tacipong berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan petani untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengatasi baik itu hama maupun penyakit pada padi dan jagung mereka, sehingga para petani kedepannya dapat lebih mengurangi kerugian mereka yang diakibatkan oleh hama OPT yang biasa mereka hadapi. Hasil penyuluhan pertanian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi petani dan pemangku kepentingan untuk mengendalikan OPT secara efektif.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine whether the implementation of game-based learning using the 'Kahoot!' application significantly impacts the English vocabulary acquisition of students at SMKN 1 Bone. The research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design, focusing on assessing whether there is an improvement in students' vocabulary after applying game-based learning with the 'Kahoot!' application. The instrument used was a vocabulary test administered as both a pre-test and post-test. The study's findings indicate an improvement among the tenth-grade students, as evidenced by the average pre-test score of 48.5, which increased to 86.8 in the post-test—that is, it increased by 38.3%. Observations also confirmed that implementing game-based learning using the 'Kahoot!' application can enhance students' vocabulary. Thus, it can be concluded that implementing game-based learning using the 'Kahoot!' application effectively improves students' vocabulary in Class X MPLB 3 at SMKN 1 Bone.

Abstract

This study investigates the pedagogical effectiveness of the Make-a-Match cooperative learning technique in enhancing English speaking proficiency among tenth-grade students at SMK Negeri 7 Watampone, Indonesia. The research addresses persistent instructional challenges in EFL classrooms, such as speaking anxiety, limited vocabulary, and low student confidence. Employing a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design, the study measures improvements in accuracy, fluency, and comprehensibility using CEFR-aligned performance-based assessments. Findings reveal statistically significant gains in all speaking components, with the greatest improvement in comprehensibility. These outcomes validate Make-a-Match as a student-centered, interactive pedagogical approach that fosters active engagement, peer collaboration, and contextual language use. Moreover, the study underscores the alignment of this technique with Kurikulum Merdeka and 21st-century educational goals, reinforcing its value in vocational education where communicative competence is vital for employability. It also contributes to the broader discourse on innovative learning strategies by highlighting Make-a-Match as a sustainable instructional model that enhances not only language proficiency but also students' psychological readiness and social interaction skills. The findings offer practical insights for educators, curriculum designers, and policy stakeholders aiming to improve the quality and inclusivity of language education.

Abstract

An initial survey in Patangkai Village found that the use of gadgets by elementary school age children was not too worrying. This shows that the use of gadgets has been used by students at the school. The aim of this service is to increase the knowledge and abilities of children in partner environments in knowing the impact of using gadgets. Increasing elementary school age knowledge in an era of technology that is so rapidly used. This service activity is carried out by delivering material to them at their respective schools. The results of service activities are: 1). Participants already know the negative impacts of using gadgets excessively and without supervision from parents or the school. The impact that will be felt is not only on them but also on the family environment. 2). The positive impact of using gadgets is very useful for education and developing their knowledge about the outside world. As a result of this socialization, participants are ready to use gadgets positively and can filter out those that could have a negative impact on them. Kata Kunci : Gadget, School, Student

Abstract

Speaking is like the first assessment for each learner who is studying English and each learner has to speak. This statement means an obligation, duty, task, fact, implementation, process, and it can be learning, although we still find some students are speaking little or even passive in the classroom. One of the method that can raise the students motivate in learning speaking is Holistic method. This study aims to identify the students’ improvement in speaking ability using Holistic Method. This research following the principle working of Classroom Action Research (CAR) that contained of four stages (Planning, Implementation, Observation, and Reflection). a classroom action research was applied by implementing two cycles and each cycle was applied four meetings. To increase the speaking proficiency and fluency of the SMP Negeri 6 Watampone, VII-B class, a holistic approach was used. The research findings indicated a significant improvement of the students’ speaking ability after implementing two cycles. About the speaking accuracy, the students’ get 56.50% in the Diagnostic test, 64.10% in cycle I, and 75.30% in the cycle II. About the speaking fluency, the students get 57.00% in the Diagnostic test, 65.50% in the cycle I, and 75.80% in the cycle II. In the second cycle, the pupils' speaking accuracy improved by 35.32%. In the second cycle, there was a 33.03% improvement in the pupils' speaking fluency. Consequently, the investigator came to the conclusion that the pupils in VII-B class at SMP Negeri 6 Watampone's usage of a holistic approach had been successful in improving their speaking abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran Fonetik Alfabet khusus nya penggunaan International Phonetics Alphabet (IPA) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pelafalan Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas 4 SD 38 Janna-jannaya yang berjumlah 18 siswa, di Desa Bonto Majannang Kec. Sinoa, Kab. Bantaeng. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan desain studi kasus untuk mengamati interaksi siswa selama 6 kali pertemuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung dan angket yang di isi oleh siswa untuk mengevaluasi tingkat antusiasme mereka selama pembelajaran Fonetik. Hasil dari angket yang diberikan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki tingkat kepuasan dan antusiasme selama pembelajaran Fonetik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengajaran IPA membantu siswa mengenali dan melafalkan bunyi Bahasa Inggris. Perbedaan tingkat pemahaman siswa dan kesulitan dalam memahami fonetik adalah masalah yang diatasi melalui teknik interaktif. Studi ini menemukan bahwa pengaplikasian IPA dapat meningkatkan pelafalan siswa dan menciptakan fondasi Bahasa Inggris yang lebih kuat di tingkat dasar. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Fonetik menggunakan pendekatan IPA memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap pelafalan Bahasa Inggris siswa.
