Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of Karang Taruna youth in Pancoh Ecotourism Village in public speaking and graphic design as a strategy to promote local tourism potential. The main issues identified were the lack of communication and digital design skills, which hindered the village’s visibility in the digital sphere. The training was conducted through a participatory approach involving interactive presentations and hands-on practice using Canva. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ confidence in public speaking and their ability to create informative and visually appealing promotional materials. Beyond providing technical skills, the program fostered active youth involvement in sustainable ecotourism development. In the long term, the training is expected to lay a foundation for building adaptive human resources and creative village teams capable of implementing digital promotion strategies. Further training and continuous mentoring are recommended to maximize the impact on village tourism development.

Abstract

Kotagede silver crafts are a cultural heritage that has existed since the 17th century. Based on Yogyakarta City Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2015 concerning the Yogyakarta City Tourism Development Master Plan for 2015-2025, Kotagede is one of the regional tourism strategic areas. However, on the other hand, the number of silversmiths in Kotagede is decreasing. This is due to sales competition with imported casting products. So many craftsmen have switched professions to other sectors. This service activity was held to increase silversmiths' competitiveness in selling through social media. This service activity allows silversmiths to independently plan and create social media content for online marketing needs. Community service in copywriting training and social media management in the Kotagede silver craft home industry aims to enable partners to optimize their social media for online marketing needs. This event was held at the Grand Rohan Hotel, Bantul, DIY, on July 15, 2023. It was attended by community service partner participants, namely Haseena Jewelry, which focuses on marketing jewelry and silver craft products. This training presents resource persons from social media marketing practitioners. This training includes a greater understanding of creating engaging copywriting and social media management. The training results showed increased knowledge, as evidenced by the pretest and posttest scores. The average pretest score was 27.7, while the average posttest score was 77.3. This indicates that the participants' understanding before and after the training increased. In addition, the participants could plan and create social media content according to the intended segmentation. Participants can demonstrate a deeper understanding of copywriting and managing social media.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Urgensi dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini didasari oleh pertumbuhan pengguna internet di Indonesia menunjukan tren positif. Di sisi lain literasi digital masyarakat masih dinilai rendah. Paparan iklan judi online dan intensitas peer group terkait dengan judi online berpotensi memengaruhi perilaku adiktif individu untuk ikut berjudi. Tujuan: Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang literasi digital di SMA Negeri 1 Karangmojo, Gunungkidul, D.I. Yogyakarta Metode:Terdapat tiga tahapan yang menjadi metode pada kegiatan ini, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil: Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukan peningkatan pemahaman literasi digital dari para peserta. Siswa-siswi diajak untuk mengenal untuk menghindari pengaruh iklan judi online. Kegiatan ini juga membahas etika bermedia sosial. Siswa-siswi menunjukkan partisipasi aktif dalam diskusi, mampu memverifikasi informasi, dan memahami resiko serta peluang yang bisa diupayakan melalui media digital. Kesimpulan: Pemaparan literasi digital ini memberikan tambahan bekal bagi siswa-siswi untuk mereduksi resiko yang ditimbulkan dan memanfaatkan peluang dari media digital. Kegiatan literasi digital memerlukan kontinuitas dan pengembangan yang berkelanjutan.
