Abstract

Vocational High School (SMK) Negeri 4 Kota Jambi is one of the favorite vocational schools in Jambi City which is also the only pure tourism vocational school in Jambi Province. SMK Negeri 4 Kota Jambi has several vocational majors, namely culinary, beauty, fashion and hospitality. In general, students who choose to attend vocational schools have the hope of being able to work immediately after graduating from school, they do not need to continue to study to be able to work. In this study, researchers will predict the level of acceptance of students from SMK Negeri 4 Kota Jambi in the business and industrial world using the Monte Carlo method. Monte Carlo is a method that can find values ​​that are close to the actual value of events that will occur based on the distribution of sampling data. The technique of this method is to select random numbers from the probability distribution to perform the simulation. The data used in this study is the data of students from SMK Negeri 4 Kota Jambi who worked from the 2015/2016 Academic Year to the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Furthermore, the data will be processed using the Monte Carlo method. The simulation will be implemented using PHP programming. The result of this research is the level of prediction accuracy of students of SMK Negeri 4 Kota Jambi who are accepted in the business and industrial world using the Monte Carlo method is 84%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penambahan server dalam sistem antrian Toko Pupuk Sumber Tani dengan membandingkan model M/M/1 dan M/M/2. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung terhadap waktu kedatangan pelanggan, waktu pelayanan, dan jumlah pelanggan dalam antrian selama periode tertentu. Data dianalisis menggunakan model antrian untuk menghitung parameter kinerja, seperti rata-rata waktu tunggu (Wq), rata-rata jumlah pelanggan dalam antrian (Lq), dan tingkat utilisasi server (ρ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model M/M/2 lebih efektif dalam mengurangi waktu tunggu pelanggan, menurunkan jumlah pelanggan dalam antrian, dan meningkatkan efisiensi pelayanan dibandingkan model M/M/1. Dengan demikian, penambahan server (kasir) selama jam sibuk direkomendasikan untuk meningkatkan kepuasan pelanggan dan optimalisasi operasional toko. Abstract

The growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) makes business actors want to optimize profits. The limitations of raw materials and resources encourage business actors to review their strategies in order to generate optimal profits. The main purpose of the study is to calculate the optimal profit from the banapuff business and provide business strategic recommendations for the combination of products produced in order to generate optimal profits. The calculation of optimal profit will use linear programming with the simplex method, because the simplex method can confuse optimization calculations with many variables and constraints. The results of the study show that UMKM businesses can increase production profits by RP380,000.00 per production with the provision of producing 57.5 puffed bananas, 12.5 chocolate bananas and 20 sesame chocolate bananas. With this result, it is hoped that business actors will get a new business strategy in the efficiency of raw materials and the combination of product production through a systematic approach.

Abstract

Laboratories are essential facilities in higher education institutions, particularly in supporting practical learning and research activities. However, manual management often leads to scheduling conflicts, inefficient room utilization, and limited access to real-time information. This study aims to develop a web-based, integrated laboratory room scheduling system for the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Jambi. The research adopts the Design Thinking methodology, which consists of five stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Stakeholder needs were identified through interviews with lecturers, students, lab staff, and laboratory heads. The primary issue identified was the lack of a centralized scheduling system. A prototype was designed using Figma, incorporating features such as real-time schedule viewing, room booking management, and usage reporting. Usability testing with five respondents revealed high satisfaction in terms of learnability (84%), memorability (85%), and efficiency (87%). The results confirm that the system meets user needs and improves laboratory management. This study contributes to the digital transformation of academic services by offering a user-centered, context-aware solution tailored to the needs of the Faculty of Science and Technology.

Abstract

This study examines the queuing system at the Pangsit Chili Oil business by implementing the Single-Phase Single Channel (M/M/1) model to broadcast service quality. Data collection was conducted on December 1, 2024 for five operating hours (11:00-16:00 WIB), involving a total of 49 customers. The analysis shows that the frequency of customer arrivals (λ) reached 9.8 people per hour, while the service rate (μ) was recorded at 14.27 people per hour. In this system, the utility (ρ) was found to be 68.7%, with an average queue size ranging from 1 to 2 customers and a waiting time of around 9 minutes. These findings indicate that the service system operates efficiently and has a spare capacity of 31.3% to handle customer transmission. From a practical perspective, the results of this study can be used by management to improve resource distribution, employee scheduling, and service area layout arrangements in order to maintain a balance between operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This model also has the potential to be applied to other culinary businesses with similar operational characteristics, especially micro and small businesses that have limited resources. Future research could explore multi-channel queuing models to respond to business growth or the application of digital ordering technology to improve system efficiency.

Abstract

In today's digital landscape, a website's performance serves as a key metric of an institution’s online presence and communication strategy. This research focuses on forecasting website performance by analyzing the relationship between the number of published articles and the volume of page views using a simple linear regression approach. Monthly data was obtained from the official website of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Universitas Jambi, comprising content publication frequency and corresponding traffic. The analysis reveals a strong positive correlation, where each additional published article contributes to a notable increase in page views. The regression model yields a coefficient of 103.75 with an R² value of 0.7278, indicating that over 72% of traffic variation is attributable to content volume. These results emphasize the importance of consistent content production in enhancing web visibility and provide valuable insights for content strategy development.

Abstract

Keterbatasan akses dan pemahaman mahasiswa non-teknis terhadap alat desain visual menjadi hambatan dalam optimalisasi pemanfaatan aplikasi seperti Canva dalam konteks akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerimaan penggunaan Canva oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Peternakan Universitas Jambi menggunakan pendekatan Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Metode penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei terhadap 160 responden, dan data dianalisis menggunakan Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) melalui aplikasi SmartPLS versi 4. Model yang diuji terdiri atas lima konstruk, yaitu: Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Attitude Toward Using, Behavioral Intention to Use, dan Actual Use. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa lima dari enam hipotesis diterima. Perceived Usefulness berpengaruh signifikan terhadap sikap menggunakan, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap niat menggunakan. Perceived Ease of Use berpengaruh signifikan terhadap sikap dan niat menggunakan. Selain itu, Attitude Toward Using berpengaruh terhadap niat menggunakan, dan Behavioral Intention to Use berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penggunaan aktual. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa niat menggunakan merupakan faktor kunci dalam menentukan penggunaan aktual, sedangkan persepsi kegunaan saja tidak cukup kuat tanpa adanya persepsi kemudahan dan sikap positif. Hasil ini juga menyiratkan bahwa aspek motivasional dan kenyamanan pengguna lebih berperan daripada faktor teknis semata dalam adopsi alat digital di lingkungan pendidikan non-teknis. Dengan demikian, upaya untuk mendorong adopsi Canva sebaiknya lebih berfokus pada peningkatan pengalaman pengguna dan pembentukan sikap positif, bukan hanya menekankan keunggulan teknis. Hasil studi ini memberikan wawasan berharga untuk pendidik dan institusi dalam mengintegrasikan alat desain digital secara lebih efektif ke dalam pembelajaran mahasiswa non-teknis.

Abstract

Scheduling university courses is a complex challenge involving multiple variables, such as time allocation, room assignment, lecturer availability, and student requirements. This study explores the implementation of a genetic algorithm as a solution for generating optimal and efficient schedules. The genetic algorithm operates through the principles of selection, crossover, and mutation to progressively explore the solution space. Experiments were conducted using parameters of 50 individuals and 40 chromosomes, yielding an optimal schedule at the 124th iteration with a maximum fitness value (fitness = 1). The results indicate that the fitness value of individuals increases as generations progress, affirming the genetic algorithm's capability to achieve optimization iteratively. However, the stochastic nature of the algorithm leads to variations in the number of generations required to reach optimal results, influenced by the problem's complexity and the number of chromosomes. This study demonstrates that genetic algorithms are highly effective in solving complex scheduling problems with significant efficiency, producing solutions that meet constraints and support more structured operations. The algorithm contributes substantially to the development of automated scheduling systems in educational institutions and other sectors.

Abstract

Abstract Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary sector, such as Rumah Makan Sentosa, continuously strive to innovate by offering menu items that appeal to customers. Although the business provides product variations such as Fried Chicken (Ayam Geprek) and Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng), Rumah Makan Sentosa faces challenges in determining the optimal production quantity to maximize profits. This study employs the linear programming graphical method to design an efficient production strategy under limited raw materials in Jambi City. The research methodology includes observation, interviews, and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results indicate that the optimal solution is producing 70 portions of Fried Chicken and 30 portions of Fried Rice, generating a maximum profit of Rp365,000. The largest contribution comes from Fried Chicken at Rp245,000, while Fried Rice contributes Rp120,000. Implementing linear programming at Rumah Makan Sentosa is expected to enhance production efficiency, reduce material waste, and support MSMEs in designing effective production strategies amid increasing competition in the culinary market. Meskipun menawarkan variasi produk seperti Ayam Geprek dan Nasi Goreng, Rumah Makan Sentosa menghadapi tantangan dalam menentukan jumlah produksi yang tepat agar keuntungan dapat dimaksimalkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan program linier metode grafik untuk merancang strategi produksi yang efisien dengan keterbatasan bahan baku di Kota Jambi. Metode penelitian meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa solusi optimal dicapai dengan memproduksi 70 porsi Ayam Geprek dan 30 porsi Nasi Goreng, dengan keuntungan maksimal sebesar Rp365.000. Kontribusi terbesar berasal dari Ayam Geprek sebesar Rp245.000, sementara Nasi Goreng menyumbang Rp120.000. Penerapan program linier pada Rumah Makan Sentosa diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi produksi, mengurangi pemborosan bahan, serta mendukung UMKM kuliner dalam menghadapi persaingan pasar yang semakin ketat. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of raw material distribution costs at Cafe Rooftop Sa Jiwa through the application of the transportation method using the Least Cost Method (LCM) approach. The main issue faced by the café lies in the fluctuating delivery costs from each supplier, which potentially lead to inefficiencies in the procurement process. This research employs a descriptive quantitative method with four main raw material suppliers as the study subjects. Primary data were obtained through direct interviews and field observations, while secondary data were collected from purchasing records and monthly expenditure reports. The research instruments used include structured interview sheets and transportation cost data collection forms. The analysis was conducted using the LCM implemented in the Python programming language to determine the optimal distribution plan with minimum total cost. The results showed that the minimum transportation cost achieved was Rp 185,000, with an allocation that met both supplier capacity and cafe demand. These findings indicate that the application of the transportation method through Python programming effectively supports more efficient and measurable raw material distribution planning. Keywords: Distribution Optimization, Least Cost Method, Python, Rooftop Sajiwa, Transportation Cost   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efisiensi biaya distribusi bahan baku pada Cafe Rooftop Sajiwa melalui penerapan metode transportasi dengan pendekatan Least Cost Method (LCM). Permasalahan yang dihadapi cafe adalah tingginya variasi biaya pengiriman dari masing-masing pemasok yang berpotensi menyebabkan pemborosan dalam proses pengadaan bahan baku. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan subjek penelitian berupa empat pemasok utama bahan baku cafe. Data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara dan observasi langsung terhadap proses pengadaan, sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari catatan pembelian dan laporan pengeluaran bulanan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi lembar wawancara terstruktur dan lembar pengumpulan data biaya transportasi. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan metode LCM yang diimplementasikan dalam bahasa pemrograman Python untuk memperoleh solusi distribusi dengan biaya minimum. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa total biaya transportasi minimum yang diperoleh sebesar Rp 185.000, dengan distribusi bahan baku yang sesuai antara kapasitas pemasok dan kebutuhan cafe. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penerapan metode transportasi berbasis Python terbukti efektif dalam membantu perencanaan distribusi bahan baku yang lebih efisien dan terukur.
