Abstract

Internship is an activity carried out by students to plunge directly into the world of work in order to increase experience and improve student abilities as well as a forum for implementing knowledge gained from higher education. PT. Regional Development Bank (BPD) of Jambi City or better known as Bank Jambi is an agency that acts as a development bank, commercial bank, regional cash holder and is one of the sources of regional income. As one of the agencies that provides opportunities for students to be able to carry out internship activities, the registration process and internships acceptance at Bank Jambi are still done manually. In today's increasingly developing era, the registration process can actually be carried out without having to come directly to Bank Jambi to deliver a letter and then wait for confirmation whether students are accepted for an internship at Bank Jambi or not. Likewise, the internship student registration file storage system is still done manually, so this is very inefficient, therefore with this online internship registration aplication it is hoped that it can improve the efficiency of the internship acceptance process at Bank Jambi, as a consideration in taking a decision and as part of information technology-based innovation. Making this aplication using the waterfall method, for the analysis and design stages using an object-oriented methodology using the UML diagram tool. For the analysis phase using activity diagrams and use case diagrams, for the design stage using class diagrams.

Abstract

Structural design quality is an important driver of the overall quality of software applications. It is widely recognized in the literature that a low design quality of software negatively influences a number of external quality variables in the medium term, such as bug-proneness, usability, and reliability, which can be directly perceived by users. The use of design models when designing software, in particular by using the UML, has held the promise of quality improvements, automated code generation, improved problem solving and design capabilities, and in general improved productivity in software development. The conceptual modeling of classical systems is patially solved using a language such as UML. Visualizing relations of software entities often helped developers or programmer understand what he wants develop. Interactive visualizations can naturally support explorations of structures and convey evolution tendencies. Visual tool allows exploring software designs that evolve over time.

Abstract

Perkembangan Teknologi Informasi telah mendorong kemajuan di berbagai bidang. Dalam bidang pendidikan, contohnya penggunaan e-learningyang merupakan hasil integrasi teknologi dan pendidikan yang muncul sebagai media untuk pembelajaran yang menggunakan teknologi internet. Kebutuhan e-learning yang tak terbantahkan dalam pendidikan menyebabkan pertumbuhan yang besar dalam hal jumlah materi e-learning yang di-share dan sistem e-learning yang menawarkan berbagai jenis layanan. Ada 2 tipe e-learning, yaitu unstructured e-learning dan structured e-learning. Masing-masing tipe tersebut dibedakan menjadi dua bentuk berdasarkan faktor-faktor evaluasi kesuksesan suatu e-learning. Pesatnya penggunaan e-learning sebagai media pembelajaran, membuat kualitas sistem e-learning menjadi perhatian besar untuk memaksimalkan efektivitas sistem e-learning. Evaluasi kualitas sistem e-learning menjadi sangat penting dilakukan untuk memastikan dan mengetahui tingkat keberhasilan penyampaian materi melalui e-learning kepada para peserta didik, penggunaan e-learning yang efektif, dan dampak positif e-learning untuk peserta didik. Dua metode pembelajaran berbasis e-learning yang dilakukan, yaitu structured learning dengan user interface baik dan unstructured learning dengan user interface baik. Evaluasi dilakukan terhadap penyajian mata kuliah dengan dua metode pembelajaran berdasarkan hasil tes pemahaman materi. Hal ini dilakukan untuk melihat bagaimana pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi mata kuliah yang dibedakan atas dua kategori penyajian. Serta melakukan evaluasi kegunaan (usability) produk LMS UNJA. Diperoleh nilai rata-rata test akhir 78,15 untuk metode structured learning dan 69,19 untuk metode unstructured learning. Hasil evaluasi usability produk LMS UNJA, menyatakan secara keseluruhan, produk LMS UNJA secara usability sudah dapat diterima atau sudah layak, sesuai dengan rata-rata nilai usability produk yang diperoleh yaitu, 73,46.

Abstract

Datasets with heterogeneous features can affect feature selection results that are not appropriate because it is difficult to evaluate heterogeneous features concurrently. Feature transformation (FT) is another way to handle heterogeneous features subset selection. The results of transformation from non-numerical into numerical features may produce redundancy to the original numerical features. In this paper, we propose a method to select feature subset based on mutual information (MI) for classifying heterogeneous features. We use unsupervised feature transformation (UFT) methods and joint mutual information maximation (JMIM) methods. UFT methods is used to transform non-numerical features into numerical features. JMIM methods is used to select feature subset with a consideration of the class label. The transformed and the original features are combined entirely, then determine features subset by using JMIM methods, and classify them using support vector machine (SVM) algorithm. The classification accuracy are measured for any number of selected feature subset and compared between UFT-JMIM methods and Dummy-JMIM methods. The average classification accuracy for all experiments in this study that can be achieved by UFT-JMIM methods is about 84.47% and Dummy-JMIM methods is about 84.24%. This result shows that UFT-JMIM methods can minimize information loss between transformed and original features, and select feature subset to avoid redundant and irrelevant features.

Abstract

The quality of the software can be measured by its return on investment. Factors which may affect the return on investment (ROI) is the tangible factors (such as the cost) dan intangible factors (such as the impact of software to the users or stakeholder). The factor of the software itself are assessed through reviewing, testing, process audit, and performance of software. This paper discusses the consideration of return on investment (ROI) assessment criteria derived from the software and its users. These criteria indicate that the approach may support a rational consideration of all relevant criteria when evaluating software, and shows examples of actual return on investment models. Conducted an analysis of the assessment criteria that affect the return on investment if these criteria have a disproportionate effort that resulted in a return on investment of a software decreased. Abstract

Community-based question answering (CQA) is formed to help people who search information that they need through a community. One condition that may occurs in CQA is when people cannot obtain the information that they need, thus they will post a new question. This condition can cause CQA archive increased because of duplicated questions. Therefore, it becomes important problems to find semantically similar questions from CQA archive towards a new question. In this study, we use convolutional neural network methods for semantic modeling of sentence to obtain words that they represent the content of documents and new question. The result for the process of finding the same question semantically to a new question (query) from the question-answer documents archive using the convolutional neural network method, obtained the mean average precision value is 0,422. Whereas by using vector space model, as a comparison, obtained mean average precision value is 0,282. Index Terms—community-based question answering, convolutional neural network, question retrieval

Abstract

The rapid growth of information and digital documents has caused the process to retrieve desire documents becomes more difficult when performed manually. Therefore, an information retrieval system is needed as the search engine to find relevant documents as user desire. This research is to develop a information retrieval system based on OKAPI BM25 model. Two main steps would do in build an information retrieval system with Okapi BM25 model are preprocessing and applied the model to it. The preprocessing steps are collection of document (corpus), tokenization, linguistic preprocessing, and indexing by creating an inverted index. After preprocessing, applied Okapi BM25 model to the system to compute the relevant value between each document to user’s query. The system retrieve a list of documents which in descending sort based on relevant value. System performance is measured by calculating precision and recall. Experiment on several query key, shows a good performance where precision value about 74%-92% and 100% recall. This system is portable so it can be applied to the local server to meet the needs of the organization in finding a document in accordance with its documents collection.Keywords : Information Retrieval, Okapi BM25, Precision, Recall.

Abstract

In this study, a forest fire monitoring system based on IoT has been developed where the parameters used include temperature, wind speed, air humidity, and hotspots. These physical parameters are measured in real time using sensors installed in locations prone to forest fires. The sensor measurement data sent and processed by the Arduino Uno microcontroller and sent to the server using the Internet of Things (IoT). The forest fire monitoring system developed has a high level of accuracy, where the temperature sensor has an accuracy of 99.9%, the air humidity sensor has an accuracy of 97.85%, and the wind speed sensor has an accuracy of 90.70%. The hotspot detection system also has good performance, where the sensor can detect the presence of hotspot in real time. The development of an IoT system for monitoring four forest fire parameters was made using the Blynk application. The system can work well where data from the four forest fire parameters can be monitored in real time via computer devices or via smartphones.

Abstract

In general, to make decisions in the discipline of information systems are divided into two, namely Decision Support System (DSS) and Data Informed Decision Making (DIDM). DIDM is a data-driven decision-making process taking into account previous experience, user research, and other important information. Many applications are categorized as data-informed for universities, one of which is a portal that contains data or information about various aspects of a university. There are not many known factors that influence leaders to use informed data as a tool for making decisions. This study applies the UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) model by adding a leadership style variable as a moderating variable. Hypothesis testing using the bootstrapping technique in this study involved a number of samples (N) of 300, testing for the two-tailed hypothesis, using a significance level of 5%. Based on the test results revealed only facilitating conditions that affect use behavior. Meanwhile, the variables of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence have no effect on behavioral intention to use the application. In addition, it was also found that the moderator variable of leadership style did not affect the relationship between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions with the intention and actual use of leaders in data informed applications to make decisions.

Abstract

Setiap barang milik negara (BMN) harus dicatat dan dilaporkan dengan baik dan benar sesuai dengan aturan yang berlaku. Universitas Jambi sebagai salah satu penyelenggara pendidikan tinggi dibawah Kemendikbudristek diwajibkan melakukan inventarisasi BMN setidaknya satu kali dalam lima tahun. Proses inventarisasi BMN di seluruh unit kerja di lingkungan Universitas Jambi masih dilakukan dengan cara manual sehingga tidak efektif dan tidak optimal  dalam mengelola data inventaris. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan sistem inventarisasi barang milik negara (BMN) di Universitas Jambi. Pengembangan sistem yang dilakukan menggunakan metode prototyping, yang terdiri dari tahapan analisis kebutuhan, membuat prototype, evaluasi prototype, pengkodean sistem, pengujian sistem, evaluasi sistem, dan menggunakan sistem. Penelitian ini menghasilkan prototipe Sistem Informasi Inventarisasi Barang Milik Negara yang diberi nama SIBAMIRA yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan digitalisasi proses inventarisasi barang milik negara, khususnya di Universitas Jambi.
