This is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation. Researchers used purposive and snowball techniques in selecting research subjects. Data analysis techniques use interactive models consisting of 1) data collection, 2) data condensation, 3) display data, and 4) conclusion drawing and verification. Researchers also used data triangulation techniques to check the validity of the data. The results showed that some students had low social skills. To overcome these problems, teachers make various efforts to improve social skills, which are divided into four indicators: 1) skills to comply with rules, 2) valuing skills, 2) communication skills, and 4) teamwork skills.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is something that violates the norms and rules that apply in the local area. Usually, the delinquency is caused by peers and lack of parental attention. This study aims to review students' knowledge and the influence of peers in committing juvenile delinquency. Then, this study also aims to find out the strategies and school programs in overcoming juvenile delinquency. Through a mix method explanatory approach, this research is expected to develop a comprehensive strategy in overcoming juvenile delinquency. In the first phase, this research uses quantitative methods by distributing questionnaires to 85 students as respondents which are then analyzed using SMART-PLS with structural equation model-partial least square (SEM-PLS) techniques. The second, qualitative phase conducted interviews with school principals, representatives of class teachers and counseling guidance teachers to get answers about school strategies in overcoming adolescent delinquency. Qualitative data was then analyzed thematically by compiling into program sections, sub-programs and descriptions. As a result, in direct testing, there are 2 accepted hypotheses: character-building competency against peer delinquency and delinquency behavior. However, peer delinquency does not have a positive and significant relationship with delinquency behavior. Indirect testing provided the finding that peer delinquency failed to mediate the relationship between character-building competency and delinquency behavior. Furthermore, based on the interviews conducted, a school program aims to overcome adolescent delinquency. The program involves internal and collaborates with external institutions such as KPAI, bhabinkamtibmas, and alumni who have achieved success. Then, the school also provides counseling on parenting by involving parents as participants. Thus, it can be seen that the school has taken a holistic and collaborative approach in dealing with juvenile delinquency. However, strong peer influence and lack of individual commitment may reduce its effectiveness.

Abstract

Low interest in learning in Social Studies subjects is a challenge faced by educators in schools. This low interest in learning is caused, in part, by teachers' lack of creativity in adapting to students' needs and desires during the learning process in class. To overcome this, this study is needed which aims to describe the results of the implementation of E-Modules assisted by Google Sites with the Problem Based Learning model in social studies learning to increase the interest and learning outcomes of class VIII students. This research used a quasi-experiment design with one group pre-test and post-test. Data was collected from observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, which in this case was specifically from students in class VIII-J. The results of this research indicate an increase in students' interest in learning and learning outcomes after the treatment was carried out in the classroom. The use of E-Modules and PBL models has a positive influence on students' learning interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an innovative learning medium called GEM (Go Explore Malang), a board game designed to enhance students’ understanding of natural tourism potential in the Greater Malang area. The research seeks to improve contextual and engaging Social Studies learning by integrating local content with a game-based approach. The development employed the ADDIE model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The product was validated by material and media experts and tested on sixteen ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Malang. Data were collected using expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and learning achievement tests, and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The validation results indicated that GEM achieved 95.71% feasibility from material experts and 81.33% from media experts, categorized as “highly feasible.” Field implementation showed active student participation, increased motivation, and a perfect learning mastery rate. The game effectively enhanced geographical literacy, collaboration, and critical thinking skills through enjoyable play-based interaction. The study was limited to a small sample from one school; future research should expand the testing scope and explore digital adaptations of GEM for wider implementation. GEM can be used as an alternative learning medium that contextualizes Social Studies content, strengthens local awareness, and promotes 21st-century competencies such as collaboration and problem-solving. This research introduces a novel integration of local tourism content into a board game framework, providing a “glocal” innovation that bridges local identity with global learning strategies in Social Studies education.pertama.
